Sharing Love: Is My Husband Yours?

Sharing Love: Is My Husband Yours?
Pandu Tree

'My husband cheated on me behind my back. Not just liking or harboring feelings for other women. But, deeper than that, there was another woman who filled her days. Maybe it was Alya or it could have turned out to be another woman, not Alya.' My brain keeps going around thinking the same thing all day.

"But, if so in reality..Why did Darwin marry me? Why didn't he marry that woman?" muttered. I still don't understand the circumstances that revolve around me.

'I must go to Indralaya immediately, ' my mind. 'Tomorrow once I'm healthy I'll ask my mother's permission to go see Mas Darwin.'

"Mom, I want to ask permission to meet Mas Darwin in Indralaya" I said this morning.

Mother gawked towards me with a half glared look. "You're healthy. Want to go to Indralaya alone, is it strong?" say Mother.

"Already, ma'am," I answered so steadily.

"can't. You'll get sick on the street making people even more troublesome." Mother refused completely.

"But, I have to see Mas Darwin right away, Mom. I'm healthy, I'm strong." I'd love for you to give me permission.

"Body you're pale, you say healthy" said the mother. "No need to lie to my mother. You must not have slept all night. It looks like your body is limp, pale. The ends have not been to Indralaya already puyeng, troublesome people," said the mother cynically.

"Why should we meet Darwin? You can video call, call if there's something to talk about" said the mother. "What's important?"

My father-in-law is so curious about his son's household affairs. And, I can't go to Indralaya to check Mas Darwin's condition there. Is he cheating or not? What has he been covering up for me all this time?

I can't be straightforward because mom must have sentenced me wrong. I must have defended Mas Darwin and said there was no way he could cheat. After all, if it turns out that Mas Darwin did not cheat, then mother would have rattled me for not believing in husband and had prejudiced husband.

No, I can't tell mom everything before everything is proven. But, deep down in my heart I still very much hope that what I think of Mas Darwin is just my prejudice. I wish Mas Darwin didn't really have another woman behind me.

I want to go to Indralaya to make sure that my suspicions are real or not. I hope that suspicion is all just my imagination. I want Mas Darwin to be my whole husband, not just my status.

"Why do you want to see Darwin?" Mom's question blew all my messed up thoughts.

"It's okay, Mom. I just want to take Mas Darwin to my friend's application in Palembang." I try to cover my reasons.

"When's the show?" ask mom so flatly.

"Friday, ma'am" I replied.

"can't. Darwin's busy. You know Darwin's Friday work. You expect him to skip?" Mom shook her head. "The wife should support the husband's career" she said. "After all, why do you want to go to Indralaya today? It's still Friday."

"I just want to see Darwin soon, Mom. I want to stay in Indralaya, accompany Mas Darwin. Okay, Mom?" I'm a little pushy.

"No, no, no" said the mother immediately. "Later. I know there's something you're hiding. What exactly are you planning? If you want to accompany Darwin in Indralaya, you can leave here with Darwin later. Darwin's coming home this Saturday."

"Sheafhh...." I took a deep breath, it seemed free to talk to my mother. He won't let me. It's so hard to get out of this house, just to see my husband.

So that night I started putting my clothes in my bag. I packed up, I prepared to leave for Indralaya tomorrow morning.

The next Tuesday morning, after I finished all the housework I prepared to leave. 'I have to go by sneaking around so mom doesn't know, ' I thought. Otherwise, he would have banned me.

I rushed to the door of the house and closed it very carefully. 'May mother not know, ' my mind. I will preach it after arriving in Indralaya so that he does not worry about looking for me.

My steps are so stifled. I have to get out of the village road immediately to get to the side of the road, where there I can get a car travel later. However, not yet out of the village road, in the middle of the journey I felt something strange on my body.

Suddenly I felt my eyes twitching. I slowed my steps. Something wrong attacked my body's defenses. I feel like I'm gonna faint. I took off the bag I had been carrying since just now to be able to touch the big palanquin tree by the roadside, not far from me.

I sat down, leaning against the tree. My eyes are dark and a little dark. I'm so dizzy. My body suddenly broke out in a cold sweat and seemed to be drifting off balance. I feel like my body is going to collapse. I can't think of anything anymore.

Several motorized people passed by the road that was in front of me. But they don't care about me. Meanwhile, I was so dizzy, helpless to ask for help. I could only catch my breath and wait for my condition to improve.

Then, all of a sudden, "Rania!" Someone called me in a surprised tone. The guy immediately stopped the bike and approached me. I saw him and it turned out to be Yuk Selvi, Mas Darwin's older sister.

"Why are you sitting here?" ask her with a surprised face. He glanced at the large tote bag near me and asked, "Where are you going?"

I can't answer. I'm too dizzy.

"You're so pale." Yuk Selvi touched my hand. "You're sweating cold."

Then he helped me stand up. He rushed to get the bike closer to me, picked up my bag and hung it on the bike. Then, he asked me to get on his bike. In an instant I was already piggybacked by Yuk Selvi on his bike.

"I drive home, yes" said Yuk Selvi while riding his motorcycle.

"Don't, Yuk," I said immediately, though weak, and Yuk Selvi spontaneously said "Why?"

I just kept quiet, unable to explain anything. Then I saw Yuk Selvi driving his motorcycle into a courtyard, but it was not Mas Darwin's house. It was the house of Yuk Selvi and her husband.

He stopped his bike there and said, "You rest here first." He helped me get off the bike and asked me to sit on his porch.

Then, he went into the house and immediately returned with a bottle of wind oil. He rubbed the oil on my body and said, "Are you dizzy because you haven't eaten? You want to eat?"

"No, Yuk. I ate, "I answered.

"You sick?" asked Yuk Selvi and I shook my head.

"I just feel like fainting" I replied.

"Don't get pregnant." Yuk Selvi's words widened my eyes. I saw Yuk Selvi smiling at me. Meanwhile, I was dumbfounded at the thought of Yuk Selvi's words.
