"Sorry who are you looking for?" A housekeeper (ART) opened the door and asked.
"Darwin is?" ask mother.
"Oh, sorry, Mom. Mr. Darwin is away with Alya's mother" he replied. "But Farida's mother is there."
"Farida?" said mother in a somewhat surprised tone. "So Farida lived here with them" said the mother.
"Yes, Mommy. Do you want to see Farida's mother?" ART is waiting for my mother's answer.
Mother nodded and the ART said, "Just in a moment, Mother, I call you first. Please come in, wait inside!"
Mom and Yuk Selvi went into the living room and sat down on a chair. Mother looked around the living room which was arranged so nicely. 'So Farida knew her son was married to Darwin. He purposely hid this, ' thought mother.
"David Darwin and Alya have children?" mother whispers to Yuk Selvi.
"I don't have it yet, Mom." Mother nodded her head hearing Yuk Selvi's reply.
Then, an old woman in a wheelchair arrived in the living room. He squinted his eyes trying to remember the figure of the old woman before him at this moment.
"Marina," he said. "You're Marina, right? Darwin's mother?"
Darwin's mother smiled cynically. "Of course you remember me. How could a murderous family just forget about their sins?" Darwin's mother alluded to the past conflicts that took place between them.
Farida's mother immediately felt cornered. He then asked, "Why did you come here?"
"Hehhhh! Don't pretend you don't know!" said mother. "You deliberately hid Darwin and Alya's marriage for years. Today I came here .. to separate the two of them."
Farida's mother looked a little shyok then said, "Marina, why can't you bless their relationship? They both have loved each other for a long time."
"How can I accept a murderous family as my family? How can I accept my brother's murderous son as my son-in-law?" mother with anger.
"That's an old story, Marina. It's just the past. Alya is innocent" Farida's mother said.
"Just the past?" Mother repeated Farida's mother's words in an angry tone. "Look at how you say it as if you thought the matter was so trivial!"
"Your husband took my sister's life. I remember a lot of blood on his body. From his neck was flowing a lot of blood. He tore my sister's body apart so many times with a machete."
Farida's mother cried hearing all the mother's words. Meanwhile, she continued, "For you it is only the past. For the family my sister left behind their future is forever shattered. His children are orphans, his wife a widow." She was so angry that she stood up from her sitting position.
Mother approached Mother Farida who could only sit in her wheelchair. Yuk Selvi tried to hold mom. Then, the mother said out loud, "I swear I will make your son a widow."
Farida's mother looked at her and said, "Enough, Marina! Enough's enough!"
"I'll separate Darwin and Alya" said the mother.
"Enough, Marina! Pity, Alya! She's pregnant with your granddaughter, your flesh and blood" Farida's mother said.
Mom was silent for a moment hearing that. Then, he said, "You think I want to acknowledge the boy as my grandson?"
Farida's mother looked at her with nanar. His eyes were filled with tears since then.
"I don't want to" the mother said in a loud voice. "In his body flowed the blood of a murderer, a descendant of a murderer. I'm not accepting him as my grandson."
"Mother!" Suddenly, Mas Darwin's voice startled his mother, Yuk Selvi, and Farida's mother.
Darwin had just arrived and was already standing in the doorway. Alya stood next to her and her tears broke from hearing her mother's words.
"What did Mom say?" said Mas Darwin. "Why did you say that?"
"That's impossible, Mom. I can't. Moreover, Alya is pregnant with my son, Mom."
"Mother is not willing to accept the bloody grandson of the murderer" said the mother.
"Mom, Alya is not wrong, ma'am," said Darwin. "The child in the womb is also not wrong. Why can't I accept Alya and my son?"
"Enough, Darwin! You can't have any more contact with Alya. Divorce her!" said mother.
"I can't, Mom. I can't" said Mas Darwin. "Alya my wife. We've been married a long time."
"You've got a new wife, Darwin. Divorce Alya!"
"Can't, Mom. I can't" said Mas Darwin. "Please understand me! Don't force me like this!"
"You who do not understand the heartache of the mother" said the mother loudly. "Mother will never accept your marriage. You have to divorce her."
Darwin shook his head and said, "I can't, Mother."
"Darwin!" squealing mother. "You should divorce her, divorce her, son!"
Then, suddenly mother held her left chest. "Mother" said Yuk Selvi. He immediately held the mother's body. "Mom" he said in a panic. Mom suddenly gasped.
Darwin immediately carried his mother's body and took her to the car. Yuk Selvi immediately accompanied the mother in the car. "Hurry to the nearest hospital, Darwin!" pinta Yuk Selvi and Mas Darwin immediately drove his car quickly.
Alya and Ibu Farida could only be astonished, not knowing what to do. Their faces were still wet from the tears that were too heavy. Alya still continued to cry and occasionally hiccup because her feelings were too painful to hear the mother's words.
She cried in the lap of Farida's mother who could only sit in a wheelchair stroking her son's hair and said, "Already, Alya! Don't cry anymore! You're not wrong, son. It's not the right thing."
A few hours later my phone rang. "Mas Darwin," I murmured.
"Rania, please get mom's clothes ready! Put it in the bag! Bring towels and blankets too!"
"For what, Mom?" my question is not to understand.
"Mother is in the hospital and must be hospitalized.
"Huhuh?" I'm appalled.
"About two hours I'm going there to pick up the bag and other necessities" said Mas Darwin.
"Who's keeping mom there, Mas?" I'm worried about mom.
"There's Yuk Selvi" replied Mas Darwin and I calmly heard him. I didn't ask you again why you went to the hospital. I think it seems like the cause of my mother's illness must have something to do with her arrival to Mas Darwin and Alya's house.
After hanging up the phone I rushed to pack my clothes. I ventured into Mom's room and opened her closet.
I picked up a few pieces of mother's clothes and suddenly someone fell on the floor. Some of the photos look outdated. I picked it up and looked at every single photo.
The first photo is a wedding photo. In the photo, she is very young and very beautiful. Next to him was Darwin's father. They smile happily.
In another photo I saw a photo of Mas Darwin as a toddler on his father's lap. There are also photos of their families looking compact and happy. Mas Darwin, Yuk Selvi, and Yuk Nia are still the children in the photo. They look very harmonious.
In every photo I look at there is a photo of Mas Darwin's father. 'Why do you keep these photos?' my thinking.
'Could it be that mom really misses her old family? Her family is still complete, intact with her husband.' I can't find the answer.
