THE FORMER SHADOW

THE FORMER SHADOW
43. Theatricals

A middle-aged man was sitting on a large sofa with a soft tapestry. His footwear did not feel expensive enough as he set foot in the room. If only his shoes could talk, he would have spoken low while treading there.

Little glasses perched on his nose. Occasionally his index finger raises the frame of the glasses that are shrinking.

A map is sandwiched between the waist and the inner arms. Map of chocolate that was once read in front of the person he was waiting for.

The owner of the house still did not appear, he glanced at his semiori watch. "It's been 30 minutes" he complained bored, even though his work piled up in the office.

It is the owner of the house who is supposed to visit to meet himself in the office. However, when contacted the person reasoned that he was not feeling well so asked him who came.

Waiting is boring, grumbling in the heart.

"I'm sorry, you waited a long time" said a woman in an automatic wheelchair. Behind her body, there was a female assistant accompanying in case she needed anything.

The woman coughed uncomfortably. His neck was wrapped in a thick scarf.

People who see will feel sorry to see the helplessness of women whose faces are still so beautiful.

"It's okay, it's my duty" said the diplomatic man, throwing a fake smile like an imitation watch in his hand.

"Please sit down" said the woman who had been sitting in a wheelchair.

The man named Akmal Eyandri who had stood when the host came, now sat back on the big sofa. Akmal is a notary chosen by the family to take care of inheritance matters.

"Mother Poppy, did I mean to come here to ask you how the inheritance was executed for Mom's niece? It is time for the legacy of the late Mr. Wriatmaja to be handed over to Ms. Badrina Aini," he recalled looking at the woman from across the large table while raising the frame of the glasses.

Poppy coughed again, her assistant giving her a cup of warm drink to relieve her throat. Akmal wanted to continue his words, but was stifled by the fact that Poppy seemed to be suffering from the pain she was suffering from.

"My solitude is still the same, Mr. Akmal. Badrina is not entitled to the inheritance of my sister, Wriatmaja. He's not the biological son of my brother, only an adopted son" Poppy protested with an expression that was difficult to translate.

Akmal's forehead frowned.

"Sorry Mrs Poppy, this will has been delivered for a very long time, decades ago. Mr. Wriatmaja kept him alive and well. We've talked about this before. Badrina is entitled to the inheritance grant of Mr. Wriatmaja and his wife" Akmal reminded.

Akmal added, "Bapak Wriatmaja said: when Badrina Aini is 29 years old and has been married, then the inheritance can be handed over to her. Mr. Wriatmaja has been lifting Badrina since the age of 3 months. He gave some of his inheritance to Temple Mal and some to Mother Poppy, and finally to Badrina," Akmal added, who seemed to be stalling for the handover of Badrina's inheritance rights.

"I know, Rina's almost 29. During this time my sister also advised my Badrina who nurtures, especially when the baby is me. And in my hands all are still well awake, 'kok, ' Poppy argued. His pain condition was disguised, implied tension in his speech.

"But one other condition was not met by my pounding. My sister advised that she should be in a legal marital status when the inheritance was handed over. Rina is currently divorced from her husband, Arshaka. However, to my knowledge he was close to a man named Hafez Irsyad," said Poppy, clearly objecting to the legacy of his late brother handed over to Badrina.

Akmal took a deep breath. Whenever Poppy mentioned inheritance, she never dealt with the contents of the will that Wriatmaja wrote.

Poppy thumped. "I have an offer for Mr. Akmal" he said.

Akmal looked at the woman who suddenly looked not sick at all. The back that had been tendered to the wheelchair, now able to vertical.

Akmal waited for Poppy's next words.

"How about... Mr Akmal teamed up with me to exterminate the will from my brother?" draw a smile. "I will give the best part to Mr. Akmal as a thank you" he added, without feeling guilty for making words contrary to the science learned by Akmal.

The man raises the frame of his glasses, he tries to look calm, although in fact nervous struck. It was hard to swallow, the word stuck in his throat, even Akmal felt regret coming to Poppy's house at this time.

Akmal had to make a quick decision before things got worse.

The phone in Akmal's pocket rang out, breaking the silent conditions that appeared after the offer from Poppy.

"Sorry Mrs Poppy, I have a call from the office. I lift it for a while," he said, shifting the tension created.

In a slow voice Akmal responded to a call from his office. "Yes, I'm with Miss Poppy. A little late to get to the office. It won't be long, any minute. If the client is willing to wait, I will try to get there as soon as possible" Akmal said on his phone. Sentence by sentence can be heard well by Poppy.

Akmal closed the call. He felt saved by the phone he received.

"Well Mother Poppy, if you are not ready for the handover of Badrina's inheritance, next time we talk again. I got a call to take care of my other clients" Akmal said calmly, not wanting to linger in the room with Poppy.

Poppy had long waited for the moment to say the offer to the notary, but Akmal did not respond. Perhaps the man needs to be given some time to think, Inner Poppy.

"Sir Akmal, my offer is still valid. If Mr. Akmal is ready, I am open 24 hours to receive the news" Poppy said, smiling meaningfully. "Pak Akmal can create a new office if he accepts my offer" he added. Poppy still bitterly seduces Akmal to work together to destroy his brother's will.

Akmal no longer responded to Poppy's remarks, fearing mispronunciation. Getting out of that luxurious house is the best way. Akmal said goodbye, he stepped unhesitatingly out of Poppy's special room.

It was a poor shoe, looking dashing on an expensive soft tapestry. There is no doubt by walking straight out of the house whose residents turned out to be crazy for the property of others. Akmal didn't even look back.

Poppy stood up from the wheelchair, throwing a cloth covering her legs. He pretended to be sick to get sympathy from Akmal. He made a bold offer to destroy the will his brother had written decades ago.

"Damn! Si Akmal did not reply," he groaned as he walked back and forth in his private room. His right hand clenched and was then smashed into his left palm.

Poppy is alone in the room, and her assistant escorts Akmal to the main door. He took a cell phone from the table to contact someone.
