The Necromancers

The Necromancers
Ch. 11:Urei Mining Expedition

Out of the library, the three people rushed back to the inn to immediately rest. In addition to taking a break, they also want to take the time to be able to read books they have purchased before, except for Shilphonia who is not interested in reading books.

"Can you guys stop for a second?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"....."

"....."

A man who arrives suddenly interrupting their time, Shilphonia and Friya feel suspicious and wary of the man smiling at them. Unlike the two girls nearby, Regard knew who the man in front of him was. He was none other than Veru, the Royal Knight who had been helping and taking care of him all this time in Farihiora City.

"What are you doing here, Uncle Veru?"

"Uncle?"

"Could he be your family?"

"No, he's just the one who took care of me when I already had nothing."

Walking to Veru's side, Regard explained to the two of them.

Shilphonia and Friya who heard it, understood the meaning of his words. They certainly understand that humans and other living things will feel sad, desperate and resigned to the lives of those who have lost their loved and dear families, including Regard himself.

"I want us to talk somewhere else. Do you not mind?"

"How's it?"

"I don't mind."

"I'm same. I wonder what he wants to talk to us about."

Smiling at their answer, Regard nodded at Veru.

Veru who heard their approval walked in front, leading the way to the place she wanted to talk about in secret without being known to the public.

"All right, we're talking about this place."

In one of the parks, not a single resident of the city nor a royal knight was seen serving in this place. In other words, this place was safe to talk about so Veru would not hold it in anymore which made them annoyed and angry towards him.

"I want us to go on an expedition somewhere."

"Why should it be sudden?"

"That's because there's an urgent situation you need to listen to."

"Wait a minute, Regard! Alright. Explain what the urgent situation is."

"Thank you."

The complaint of Regard being stopped by Friya made him curious over the urgent situation of what Veru had said earlier.

According to Friya, if the situation is urgent then it can be ascertained that this is not a minor problem but a complicated problem if he knows it from Veru's serious expression shown to the three of them.

"Do you know about Urei Mining?"

"Urei Mining?"

Regard and Friya knew absolutely nothing about the mining that made their heads tilted, nor did the expressions they showed were full expressions of questioning.

"I knew. Urei mining is the largest mining located near Asfa City."

"That's right. Asfa City is a city that is famous for its abundant material ore that can be made as accessories, supplies, and various other needs that are quite expensive and high quality."

"certain. They are skilled craftsmen and professionals who make anything they touch can produce prices that are many times more expensive than usual."

Nodding to Shilphonia's explanation, Veru naturally understood the aspect that Asfa City had.

The city of Asfa is very famous for the quality ores obtained from Urei Mining. Whatever they produce and produce, they can make luxury and expensive equipment and accessories that can make the attention of traders to buy it in large quantities coming from all corners of the city to Asfa City.

Basic things like this Veru understood so he was not surprised at the advantages possessed by Asfa City.

"Forget about the advantages. Is there something going on at Urei Mining?"

"Yes. Recently many people reported that Urei Mining has a problem in it. The matter itself was a powerful earthquake, the cry of a woman from within, as well as the loud bang of the ground, all of that was what the people reported."

"Is there a cause that makes mining that way?"

"Nothing."

The three people who were sitting on the garden chair, pondered for a moment and thought.

For Regard, there is a possibility that the cause of Urei Mining to change drastically than usual is coming from a demon who tries to master mining, just like he had in his first life in this world.

For Shilphonia, the Urei Mining had something to do with the man she had met with Regard earlier. The man who had white skin, silver hair, and a red tattoo on his right cheek that had fought with Regard before. So, Shilphonia's guess is the man may have been the cause.

For Friya, helping and helping people is necessary. Whatever their problem, as long as it can be overcome and handled by themselves then it will be fine for their lives. Moreover, this concerned about the resources possessed by Asfa City so Friya thought helping was the right course of action for her.

"Are you willing to come with me in the investigation?"

"Yes. To be honest I was curious about what happened in the Urei Mining."

"I'm the same."

"me too. I wonder if there are demons in it or not."

Hearing their agreement, Veru stood up and smiled at the three people in front of him.

"alright. Tomorrow morning, I want us to meet outside the main gate of Farihiora City."

"Yes." Yeah."

Leaving his place, the three people who were watching Veru's back slowly moved away and disappeared.

"Let's go back to the inn."

"Yes." Yeah."

They rushed back to the inn to rest and relax.

The Regard POV

On a clear morning, I, Shilph, and Furuhiora were already waiting in front of the main gate of Farihiora City according to Uncle Veru's words.

"Why hasn't he come yet?"

"Maybe he's late?"

Well, I guess that he'll be late.

The reason I could tell was that she was a female maniac who stayed up all night to tempt any woman she met, be it; ordinary women, nobles, and adventurers, were all tempted by her.

Surely I can understand how determined he is in hunting women, but at least I want him to think of himself beyond his mere pleasure.

"Sorry, I'm late!"

"It's okay."

Noticing Shilph and Friya, I'm sure they look upset over the delay.

It's only natural that they're angry. We were supposed to meet early in the morning before the residents moved in the city, but it seemed that everything was really too late.

"Let's go."

"Yes." Yeah."

Well, it's better to just let them look like this rather than reprimand them, I don't want to ruin their mood.

Along the way, we spoke nothing but silence each other. It's only natural that if we don't talk about anything because they both still look upset over the delay, I understand their sense of mission rather than anything else first.

"We've reached Asfa City."

In front of the gate, the entire town was on the move inside.

Walking a little forward, we stopped for a moment in front of the gate that contained the two royal knights who wore complete armor on their bodies.

"Thank you."

It seems like this has become a habit for anyone going in and out of the city so I'm not surprised.

Right after Uncle Veru entered the city, I gave evidence as an adventurer. The evidence itself was a piece of black cloth that had been handed over to them.

Those who took it exchanged looks and nodded, then returned the black cloth to me.

"Please enter!"

Of course I can enter because I am a novice adventurer.

According to the Adventurers Guild, there were three levels in adventurers namely Black, Colorful, and White, all three were at different levels.

Black symbolizes the meaning of black, which means that the adventurer is still at the lower level, including me who is still at the basic level of an adventurer, I can only take a few limited missions.

Well, even though before meeting Shilph I took on a special and certain mission, I was required to not perform the same actions as happened before so I had to follow the rules.

Colorful symbolizes the meaning of color, which means that adventurers who are at this level are middle-level adventurers. They usually have missions that are quite difficult to overcome for a novice adventurer like me.

Not only difficult missions, the rewards and rewards they managed to get were quite good. Unlike Black Adventure which earns too few rewards and rewards, Colorful Adventure has enough rewards and rewards to rent a luxury inn over night.

And the last one is White symbolizes the meaning of white, which means that adventurers at this level are high level adventurers in the world. They are usually referred to as adventurer leaders or even sometimes referred to as a hero, both of whom are very influential towards the kingdoms and cities that have White Adventure like them.

Of course, the rewards and rewards obtained are quite high than other adventurers in the previous level so it is natural that anyone will be interested and envious of them because of the high rewards that can satisfy their life needs.

At least that's what I've learned before in my life.

Yet...

I don't know if Shilph and Furuhiora can enter the city through the outside guards or not, I'm worried about them.

"Sorry to keep you waiting for a long time."

"Yes, sorry for our delay."

"How about, Shilph, Furuhiora?"

They both looked at each other and smiled at me.

"We were able to get in thanks to Shilph's idea."

"The idea?"

Me and Uncle Veru had absolutely no idea about the idea.

Shilph who heard it, he just smiled. Puffing his chest, he smiled in satisfaction as if he was filled with confidence.

"That's a good idea. The idea of where we are is the slave of Regard Arthen."

Ah. so yeah.

It turned out that they were able to make the guards think that they were my slaves.

It's true that I have a slave named Sasaki, but that only applies to Demi-humans, not to them. As for the two of them, I don't know if it's suitable to be called a slave, I just think that they were too forced to lie to the two guards earlier.

"Are you not angry?"

"No, I'm glad if that's the reason why you're accepted by them."

It is better to be happy for them to enter Asfa City than to be angry and resentful for the idea put forward by Shilph, that is my answer.

"alright. Let's go, fellas."

"Yes." Yeah."

"Good."

"certain."

The three of us went to the inn to immediately take a room so that we could rest for a while exchanging ideas to find out what we had to do the next day.

•••••

The next day in the afternoon, the four people were waiting in the distance at the Urei Mining. Those who were focusing on the entrance of the cave mouth were on guard for not a single resident to enter it.

If anyone entered the entrance of the cave mouth, they would forbid it as much as possible and tell him to go home for their safety rather than leaving their lives in danger.

"Hey, wouldn't it be better if I went inside?"

"can't. If you go inside the cave, I'm sure you'll destroy everything later."

"I agree with Shilph."

"Well, that's right. You've always been making trouble for the missions we've done before, Arthen. So, it's only natural that they don't trust you."

"Yes, it's true what Uncle Veru said."

Every time Regard and Veru go on the same mission, Regard always messes with him which makes him angry and resentful for the actions he did during the mission. The act itself is to sacrifice itself into trouble, finish them off and destroy them and bring them into custody.

Well, all that Regard did because for his own sake so it is natural that Veru was previously angry over his selfishness in undergoing a mission.

"What are we gonna do? Should we just keep waiting?"

"Yes, we will wait until the Eruguard Kingdom reinforcements arrive."

"Relief!?"

Shilphonia and Friya who heard him were shocked at Veru's words, only to fall silent.

Unlike the two of them, Regard had already guessed that Veru was waiting for reinforcements to arrive just as he had done since he was still patrolling as a Royal Knight while helping him explore the mining cave in Elforia Village.

"Just be free."

Rushing up and walking into the cave door, the three people fell silent at what Regard was doing without their knowledge.

"Wait, Arhen..."

"Don't worry, I don't plan to mess things up. I just want to find out the extent of the damage and destruction done by that person."

Leisurely saying that to Veru, the halted footsteps of Regard resumed.

Shilphonia and Friya who still doubted herself rushed along with him, Regard stopped his steps once more and looked back.

"You don't have to come, I can do it myself."

"Are you sure?"

"If something happens to you, we'll both be troubled later."

"Relax...did you not know that I am a Necromancer?"

"....."

"....."

Hearing the reality that was told to them, the two girls could only fall silent on hearing it.

It's true that Regard is a Necromancer, but the reason it still doesn't make sense if they let Regard go. Not only would they break the contract, they were both convinced that the Soul Contract would cause them nothing to insist on staying alive.

"I'll let you know if I need any help from you guys through Mind Reading so don't worry about my condition."

Hearing the words of Regard, Shilphonia and Friya were relieved that her help was received.

Although they were accepted for his help, somehow their hearts were not satisfied with his answer. However they could not take action at this time, which could anger and resent Regard at them.

"I just don't want you guys to get hurt because of me."

Unlike the two girls, the only reason Regard balked at their help was that he didn't want his comrades to have nothing to cause Regard to resurrect their souls.

The reason Regard didn't want to awaken their souls was that he just wanted to avoid the consequences that could cause some of their memories to be lost to themselves.

If a portion of the memories were lost to them that caused them to die, sooner or later they would become the puppets of the undead without any feelings and emotions in them causing Regard to have no heart to imagine them.
