"He's gone."

In a different place from the four of them, the two men faced each other while looking at their faces before him.

"Why are you siding with the devil?"

Not saying anything between me and each other, the two men fell silent staring at their opponents because they knew talking was a waste. As long as they do not understand the meaning of one thought with another thought, the conversation will remain the same, namely not understanding each other between themselves who hold fast to different principles.

Opening his eyes and doing the same movements as Veru had shown before, Regard with a happy expression clearly visible on his face made Veru surprised at his strong memory that was able to imitate his movements in one go teaching him.

"Yes, you can do well, son."

Proud of the effort Regard put in, Veru held her hair and stroked quickly while smiling at her success.

For Veru, children of the age of Regard should not be taught sword techniques because they still have an early age in learning them. But, the reason Veru taught him was that he wanted Regard as much as possible to have swordplay skills to survive without relying on others nearby.

The world is cruel, that's what Veru deliberately taught Regard.

Finishing his memory, Veru dodged Kanae's attack easily. His light-hearted body was able to move faster than usual, slashing a few black slashes from him, and smashing Kanae's front armour with a silver glow that enveloped the tip of his sword.

As much as possible Veru retreated and moved away to ascertain the true condition of his best friend who held his chest and fell with one knee to the ground.

Kanae who got up with a smile released her grip on the chest and ran straight towards Veru.

In an instant the black fog emanating from Kanae's armor was successfully dissipated by the red powder that spread through Veru's sword slashes earlier. The powder had heat that was able to spread out quickly making the area hit by the slash disappear by it.

Slash after slash was carried out by the surrounding Veru to regain his gaze towards the surroundings. As Kanae is already engulfed in the darkness, there is a possibility that she is aware that her friend intends to drown herself into the darkness.

Behind the darkness that was gathering, Kanae emerged from Veru's blind spot making him quickly slash his great sword that was enveloped by the darkness that could hit the body covered in dark red armor inside Veru.

"Kuh...."

Slashing at him with his sword, the red light spread out like powder, causing Kanae to re-enter into the black fog.

Unfortunately, his efforts completely failed.

The black fog that had previously managed to gather around him was easily obliterated by the red powder spreading causing his mist to dissipate easily overall.

Slash after slash Veru carried out nonstop. The powder that hit Kanae's black armor, slowly began to erode it and make it crack and then broke causing her body to wear neither armor nor clothes.

Plugging his sword into the ground, Veru flowed a number of mana in the sword handle making the surface in front of him crack and then disintegrate. The destruction of the ground surface in front of him resulted in lava appearing in large quantities in every place making Kanae confused to be able to avoid it.

Throughout his body emanated a pitch-black aura that spread to the surrounding area.

The previously shattered armor was re-formed by the black aura surrounding his body. Likewise, the sword that previously looked large turned into an ordinary sword, and there was a jet-black shield on Kanae's left arm deliberately placed on the ground.

Transferring large amounts of mana, in large quantities, the jet-black shield reacted which emanated a young purplish aura making the shield change shape into sharp thorns on each side of the shield which then spread to the ground surface making the serration turn into a black spear length in large quantities.

The long black spear changed shape into a huge shield that stretched wide forming a dome capable of protecting it from within.

Upset over Kanae's vast knowledge, Veru raised his sword causing the blast area of lava that had emerged through the crushed ground surface to come to a halt instantly.

"Have you stopped?"

There were no signs of shock and sound from the explosion, Kanae directed her arm towards the shield making the black dome protecting her disappear in an instant which returned directly into the shield as if they were sucked directly into it.

Shortly after his attention to the surroundings became quiet as there was no explosion, the several dagger blades that contained paper hanging on the handle were startled.

Duars!

Explosions continued for three times making black smoke soar high where Kanae was.

"Too slow!"

Behind Kanae who was not far from him, Veru quickly pulled out a few daggers from behind the armour pants that were on the sidelines of his armor to be thrown directly towards Kanae.

Kanae quickly turned her head and turned her body. With a jet-black sword in his hand, he channeled a large amount of greetings making the wind surround him with shock waves to make some of the Veru daggers bounce off and then fall to the surface.

"Why can't you let me do it?"

"Whisper! You always thought I was so stupid, didn't you?"

"Sad..."

Putting aside his sword, Kanae gazed deeply at her former friend who looked still the same as before.

"You're still the same as you used to be, buddy."
