The Necromancers

The Necromancers
Ch. 34: Bad News

The high sun that stings anyone who moves during the day makes anyone who is undergoing a daily routine in the middle of the city not the least disturbed by the heat that stings their body.

Instead, they actually feel accustomed to the hot sun that feels that makes them no problem at all over the heat of the sun.

"Hey, do you think they're strong?"

"They?"

"Yes. Necromancer tea, he is a criminal who managed to subdue a wide variety of evils at night."

Sipping tea inside the Adventurers Guild, the Regard who had set an ear to hear the conversation, smiled at the rumored crowd.

Ever since the Royal Knights were sent from the Minra Kingdom, The Necromancer had little trouble keeping his own identity a secret in front of those on night patrol.

According to Regard, the name he gave to his friends before is quite unique. Starting from Shilphonia given the name Step, Friya given the name Frey, Reita given the name Rita, Fuuya given the name Fu, and Sasaki given the name Saki, all of them were unknown to their true identities by the Royal Knights.

As long as they closed their eyes to the presence of The Necromancer, Regard would do nothing to them.

After all, during the night hunt The Necromancer did, Regard believes that they are doing their duty not to gain the trust and priority of the townspeople but because he wants to repay the deeds for the good of Veru who managed to bring him to the side of humanity again.

Although initially Regard lived it difficult, he can still do it until now.

"Will they be aware of our existence?"

"I don't think it's possible. As long as we feel our identity, they won't know that it's us who's on the move to hunt the criminals."

On the side of Regard, the two girls who were talking to each other felt that their actions had begun to be restricted since the arrival of the Royal Knights led by Liliana, who Regard said was a student of Veru.

It's really bad.

On the one hand, Regard wanted to ignore it and carry out his duties as usual. But he himself realized that if he ignored her, sooner or later, he and the people in The Necromancer would be caught by them.

Of course, it wants to avoid as much as possible.

"You... Why are you here?"

"That's right. Are you still not satisfied with the person you have wretched before?"

"Remain and get out of front of us!"

Why is it so noisy outside?

Shocked for a moment at the familiar existence, Regard who had regained his composure put the teacup on the table and sighed.

It's hard to believe that he's coming is what Regard thinks.

The one who should have wanted to be avoided had come to him. That person was Liliana, the Leader of the Royal Knights of the Minra Kingdom.

Why does this have to happen?

Slowly footsteps came in.

Every time Liliana stepped her foot inside, the few adventurers who prevented her, insulted and scorned her for her disrespectful attitude and actions towards them.

The fact that they looked resentful and resentful over Liliana's presence was not because of her from the Royal Knights but rather her actions towards Regard, who had deliberately intended to take her life at the match.

That was why everyone sympathized over Regard's weak physical condition.

Oh gosh. He's really stubborn huh.

"Sir..."

"How's this, Regard?"

There's no other choice.

Waiting for his presence to arrive at his seat, Regard with an objectionable expression again lifted the cup, and sipped his warm tea to calm his mind.

Enjoyinge.

After several shavings, he finally calmed down in observing the situation at hand.

"Excuse me, may I ask for your time?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Putting the cup on the table, Regard did not turn at all to Liliana. She who looked straight ahead really made Liliana think that she was angry for her actions that were trying to kill her.

"I'm sorry for what I did before."

Sitting in front of her, she coincidentally met Liliana's eye gaze.

His serious-looking expression really made Regard think it was his nature. Because she and Liliana had met before in a public bath using her female appearance, Regard would not be surprised if she already knew what her nature was like.

"Have you come here to talk to sir about something?"

"Yes. Regarding the previous match, I just want to know."

Staring straight and sharp at Regard, Liliana was sure that all this must have been interference that made her unconscious of what Regard was doing to her.

"Is there something going on?"

In contrast to Liliana's estimation, Regard who calmly took the cup and sipped her tea back far beyond Liliana's expectations.

At first he thought by directing his gaze at Regard, he would tell about what he was doing to him during the previous match. But this time, he seemed to be not going to tell her anything.

"Regarding the wound that happened to me.. I'm sure you did it, right?"

"Eitherway. I don't know because I'm almost killed by you, do I?"

"That's right."

"You heartless people do it intentionally."

"Truly creepy."

Some of the adventurers who listened to their talk, scoffed at Liliana's apparent intention to kill Regard at the match.

But, they all had absolutely no idea of the true facts.

The fact that Regard has the Necromancer class, he is a person who will not be able to be killed or die because he has immortality in the darkness in his body.

That was the frightening side of the Necromancer class that they did not know about in Regard.

"Regarding that.I just want to know how far you have got."

Even though you want to know my abilities, at least you let me stay alive before.

Holding his emotions overflowing not to say it, Regard just kept silent while clenching his hands in annoyance at his words earlier.

It's true that Regard almost died before. Liliana who with full strength and ability can not be held back makes Regard forced to do anything so that he does not die.

"That's all I want to talk about."

After she noticed the atmosphere around for longer, Liliana understood that her presence in the Adventurers Guild made everyone squeamish on her attitude and actions that changed drastically to be gentle and friendly.

Coming out of the Adventurers Guild, Liliana's gaze was startled by the several troops that had come to her.

"Are you okay, Chief?"

"Yes. They just don't believe in what I did before against Regard."

"Maybe they're angry because you're overreacting."

"You're right."

Once before leaving, Liliana turned her head back to look at the Adventurers Guild. The hope is that Regard comes and approaches himself to accept his sincere apology, but it seems that he is not present.

"Let's go!"

"Yes." Yeah."

The two of them waited for the Adventurers Guild and began to drift away with the troops who were waiting in the distance to immediately perform the special task assigned to them.

The Regard POV

"What's up, Regard?"

"Are you thinking of the words from him apologizing to you?"

"No, there's something else I'm thinking about right now."

The only thing I cannot know as long as they are in Resihei City is the task they are on.

In contrast to them, most of the Royal Knights special forces brought by their leader had a special task that would take them somewhere. But, I did not get any information through the clone I placed inside Resihei City.

Minimal information, that's what I got from them.

Besides of...

The reason why he asked me to fight a sword, I didn't feel like killing me.

If he really wanted to kill me, he shouldn't have come here to apologize for his previous actions in the match.

Is there something going on without me knowing? Why do they come in large numbers? Could they be on a mission somewhere?

Damnit. There are so many questions that cannot be answered now.

"Are you okay, Regard?"

"Yes, I'm fine."

It's better if I don't look upset and hate it now so that the two of them don't worry about my condition.

The only hope is to rely on clones that I deliberately let him come with them secretly.

I'm counting on you, buddy.

•••••

Along the way, dozens of horses ridden by the Royal Knights ran as fast as they could to quickly arrive at the next city that was in need of their help.

"Are you sure we don't need adventurers?"

"Yes. We don't have much time right now. Whether they leave or not, their lives are under threat now."

With a solemn expression, Liliana who looked forward with her distant gaze imagined what it would be like if they were late.

The townspeople were about to be attacked by the abominations of the monsters, the Wyverns who were truly terrifying and terrifying making it difficult to kill, and the, as well as some things unknown to him made him curious about what really happened to the Kingdom of Finra.

I hope we can arrive on time.

Liliana's hope is that they can arrive the next day in the afternoon before sunset.

As Liliana knew, the sunset was a dangerous place where the hordes of monsters that attacked Finra Kingdom could not be overcome by them when they arrived at night.

That was why it was important for him to maintain the condition of the body he had as well as the knights who came with him for the common good.

I get it now.

On one of the horses boarded by a short white-haired man, he who was able to hear their talk nodded and pondered for a moment.

According to him, this is a pretty dangerous situation to deal with.

Aside from the monster hordes that managed to break through the fortress of Finra Kingdom, the Wyverns also helped destroy and obliterate parts of the city in Fiasfa City.

I need to call him right away.

In him who was using [Transparency], Regard who was focusing on contacting his real self closed his eyes for a moment.

It's critical.

A gawat?

Yep. The kingdom of Finra is being attacked by an army of monsters in large numbers and Wyverns.

The real Regard was eating in the General Hall of the Adventurer Guild choking for a moment then came to a halt in continuing his meal.

Are you all right?

Yep. I was just a little surprised.

Dodging his drooling mouth and food scraps, Regard confidently thought there would be something dangerous for them aside from the two reports.

According to him, whatever happened when he knew a horde of monsters were attacking Fiasfa City, there was a possibility of demons coming into the battle without them knowing. That was the experience he had before he got the Necromancer class like now.

What are you gonna do?

I can only rely on you for a while.

Are you sure?

Yep. Fight and try not to be known by the public about our power as Necromancers.

Alright.

The call through [Mind Reading] was cut off by Regard who was on the horse of one of the knights he was riding on.
