The Necromancers

The Necromancers
Ch. 40.2: Shackles and Freedom (2)

The flapping of the wings was exhaled by the man who was on the ceiling against the long blonde haired girl who parried him with her two green-colored swords crossed forward forming a powerful air wave that repelled the gusts from the flapping of her wings.

"Do you think that way you can survive?"

A few feathers were fired directly at the long blonde haired girl, Shilphonia started to stick on the surface and then exploded.

Shilphonia who managed to dodge by jumping high from one place to another, she quickly took out a few silver-colored sword blades that floated in the air towards her.

The silver sword that lunged directly at the man made a pair of wings shoot its feathers making the sword bounce.

"It's really weak."

Smiling satisfied at his success in making several sword blades bounce off, the man confidently began to take out a magic circle on his wrist directed at Shilphonia.

"Do you really think it can't move?

"What do you mean?"

Chuckling and laughing at the question of the man who was on the ceiling, Shilphonia quickly turned her sword into a maroon-red color symbolizing the color of blood.

"You'll know for yourself."

Slashing the empty air before him made the shockwave produced from his sword unleash a maroon-red slash in the form of x.

The x slash that cut through the magic circle that the man directed at Shilphonia, he quickly put up a shield through his wings that his [Dark Shield] formed.

"Now!"

When Shilphonia guessed that would be the case, she quickly shouted out her voice which made some of the sword blades that had previously been successfully made bounce off by her capable of piercing her from unexpected directions.

"It's..."

Cold spread throughout his body. Slowly his cold body began to freeze making him unable to move freely.

"Sip."

Disappearing from where he was, Shilphonia shot white feathers at the man whose body was frozen.

The feathers on his body that emitted a golden aura made the man groan in pain over the light that enveloped him.

The light itself is not the light to strike it or to eliminate it, but the ordinary light that comes from the purification magic that Shilphonia purposely channeled through her white feathers.

"You're such a bitch, Shilphonia."

"Whispering. You're just as troublesome, Lucifer."

As long as the dazzling light shone brightly, the man who looked in pain, Lucifer was unable to do anything. His body that felt slashed many times, the pain that spread, as well as some blood spewed through his mouth made him suffer.

"Be in front of me right now!"

The dark clouds previously seen at night turned into dazzling clouds that looked like daylight with its bright weather. Shortly after, a golden light appeared and a bright white dazzling figure descended to the surface from the ceiling.

"Don't tell me.. You're going to end me?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Without saying anything more to Lucifer, Shilphonia aimed her arm at him making a tall figure that looked like a beautiful mature woman with her ideal body, as well as both pairs of white wings followed by black-colored blindfolds can be clearly seen hovering slowly towards him.

The figure stopped just a few feet from Lucifer to keep its distance.

Behind the figure were several swords that seemed to be circular forming a circle. Each of the swords that could be seen had a dazzling golden color that looked beautiful and beautiful to look at from her sword carvings.

"Rest in peace, my friend!"

Shilphonia closed her eyes and walked away from where she was, the figure clenching her hands on her chest making several swords that started emitting a bright bluish light piercing into her body time and time again.

"Shilphonia..."

Stretched out his hand at the figure he hated, his old memories revolved in memories that Lucifer could not forget.

A hundred years ago.

There was a commotion that made all the inhabitants of the sky confused over what really happened.

As long as they knew nothing, they heard only the news that one of the angels had killed and exterminated many other angels. The angel himself was not given his name and appearance, but was only told by the Elders to be careful if he met one of the angels.

They, the still confused angels, began to be suspicious and wary of those closest to them.

For them, if one of the traitorous angels was around them, sooner or later they would be the next target, at least all the angels thought that way as long as the traitor among them had not been found.

In the town square in the Sky Palace, one of the women stood among the piles of corpses that came from people he had known all along.

His clothes were drenched in blood, his hands were clasping golden-coloured swords, a pair of white wings that were slowly dimmed into black, black, as well as his body that was trembling when he knew that reality was different made tears wet his cheeks.

"I'm sorry, guys."

With a slow sobbing, the woman continued to whisper in her heart that she was actually unwilling to do so. But because the reality is inversely proportional, he was forced to do it to be able to avenge his wrong actions so far.

"Shilphonia, why would you do this?"

One of the angels came from a different place to the town square in the Sky Palace.

When the man arrived at the square, he was surprised by a familiar figure who had killed many angels who had been his friends for a short time.

"I'm doing it because I'm fed up with different realities."

"A different reality?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Turning his body towards the man, Lucifer was shocked at the face of Shilphonia who looked sad for the death of his comrades in arms during the war he had killed.

"They, the Elders think that we are holy angels who help man in the battle against the devil."

"But what do we get?"

The pain spreads in the heart of Shilphonia.

At first he thought his struggle could be said to be his best effort in fighting against demons, but everything was not according to his estimation. He who has come to know a different reality is surprised that the devil is not guilty but rather the man who started the fight at first makes the devil to blame.

When Shilphonia finds out about the terrible reality, her body can do nothing.

The only thing he thought about was that his struggle all along had been completely wrong. At first he thought it was a holy struggle, but in reality it was the opposite - a struggle that put him in the wrong direction.

That was why Shilphonia felt resentful and resentful over the secrets kept by the Elders in order to know the true truth of the present war.

"I understand."

Without fear or hesitation, Lucifer who understood Shilphonia's turbulent emotions began to approach her and pat one of her shoulders.

"We think all struggles really do produce good results, but they are not what we imagined."

"Yes." Yeah."

Lucifer's eyes glanced at his side with Shilphonia hanging on his head, grieving over the struggles and deaths his comrades had experienced on the battlefield produced results that Lucifer could not bear.

Lucifer is the same. He who initially thought that they were holy beings was confronted by a bitter reality that required them to swallow the reality in order to know the truth.

Anger, resentment, and anger can be felt by Lucifer but he was detained.

If he indulged his emotions for a moment, he would be just like his friend Shilphonia who was able to finish off his comrades indiscriminately, at least that was what constantly held the turbulent emotions in Lucifer's heart.

"Now you don't have to cry because I'm going to bear that burden for you."

"really?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Taking a few steps back and noticing Shilphonia's seemingly improving face, her hopeful gaze directed at her made Lucifer smile and fall silent.

"Give me the rest! Let me take your place so that you are not wasted by the Elders."

"Good."

Shilphonia who followed his advice removed her grasp from her sword which made the two fall to the surface. Walking away and cleaning up all his blood-soaked clothes previously to be clean, Shilphonia turned for a moment towards Lucifer who seemed reluctant to leave him.

However when he got a nod from Lucifer accompanied by a confident expression, Shilphonia left him without turning to look at him like before.

I'm sorry, Lucifer.

Those words were not uttered by Shilphonia but rather her soaking that tears poured down her cheeks that could not help her grief.

"I hope you can live your life in peace, Shilphonia."

Smiling over her intentionally doing this, Lucifer intends to let her be blamed by the Elders rather than Shilphonia.

The reason he deliberately defended Shilphonia, Lucifer believes that his mistakes can be corrected by Shilphonia as long as he wants to admit his mistakes in the past.

A few days after the incident happened, Lucifer was confronted in front of the gathered Elders and looked at him with a sharp gaze.

The expressions they directed at him looked resentful and resentful at Lucifer's despicable actions towards some of the angels he had slain vilely.

"I'm sorry that you've committed such a heinous act, Lucifer."

"Yes. Not only the victims, you even caused the whole angel to fear the perpetrator who was still unknown."

"....."

Unable to say anything, Lucifer was sure he would be severely punished for a mistake that was in no way his own fault but that of others.

"Huh..."

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine. I'm just shocked at the mindset and actions he's taking on innocent people."

"You're right."

Still speechless without saying a word to them, those with desperate and disappointed faces were unable to let this terror continue in the Sky Palace.

"Lucifer, from today onwards, you will be a Fallen Angel for having desecrated the Sky Palace."

"Tu-wait! Isn't that too much?"

"Excessive? I think it's a wise choice."

"....."

Unable to say anything in defense of Lucifer, one of the angels who had the appearance of an old man was silent while hanging his head.

To him, Lucifer's mistake could still be forgiven by punishing him in the Sky Prison so that he would not repeat the same mistake as before. But since the decision was already unanimous from the other Elders, the old man was unable to do anything.

"Now you'll be gone from the Sky Palace forever."

"....."

Crashing backwards with a strong push, the footing he was on disappeared making him fall from the ceiling towards the surface of the earth.

Is this because I defended him? Should I be happy and proud of my actions?

Time and again he thought about the mistake he had been unable to correct, a sad look on his face that had been wrong in making up his mind.

When several tens of kilometers from the fall to the ground level, Lucifer quickly flapped his wings that had already turned black due to the curse given by the Elders against him.

The curse is that he is no longer an angel but a Fallen Angel who has made mistakes that he has never done before, making him have to live his difficult days now and then on the face of the earth.

•••••

"I hope you can settle down in nature there, buddy."

In the darkness of the night, a pair of pink-colored eyes were directed at the body of a person who had been nowhere before who had turned into ashes.

The expression the girl showed was saddened by the painful farewell a second time to a familiar person. His past mistakes, the crimes that made him side with the devil, as well as the grudges he had all this time could really feel during the fight between himself and his friend did before.

"I'm sorry I made you guilty, Lucifer."

After saying her regret, the blonde-haired girl stood up straight and walked away from where she was to get out of the fight.

Tears streaming down his face made the days spent this long between himself and Lucifer recollect in his mind. The days when laughter, happiness, and pleasure are felt by them before they are aware of the harsh reality that must be experienced by them and their colleagues in the past.

I'm really sorry, Lucifer.

Increasingly thinking about the happy past, his continuous regret filled his heart.
