The Necromancers

The Necromancers
Ch. 13.1:Readiness of the Heart of Reita Hiena

"alright. I'll take him around. Do you want to do it after breakfast?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Good."

It's better if I let the three of them be in the room without me interrupting.

I myself will go to my room, read a book and then begin to analyze the various magic abilities that had been obtained previously from Furuhiora.

"Wait!"

"....."

"What's up, Reita?"

"Is there something you want to talk to her about?"

"I-it... a-i..."

He's really weird huh.

I thought he was preventing me from coming out because he wanted to talk to me, but when he saw him hesitating and confused, I could be sure he didn't want to talk about this to anyone.

"Come with me to my room, Reita!"

"Good."

With a happy expression, he followed me from behind.

"I hope you don't do anything strange to him, Regard."

"Yes. If there's a report from Reita that you're doing something weird, me and Shilph will punish you."

"Yes, I get it. Alright. See you later."

It is better to agree with their words than nothing.

Wherever I might want to do a strange action against an innocent and cheerful ordinary girl, I will not be carried away with lust like Uncle Veru.

Rather than me doing it, I chose to read the book until breakfast arrived for us to eat then went to take her around, that was the only plan I had set before.

"Please sit!"

Giving her a chair, she sat on the desk chair studying while looking at me.

I ignored him and chose to read the book that had been purchased in the library in silence.

"Hey Regard, do you always spend time reading books?"

"Yes, that's it. I did it because I wanted to avoid certain things from the public."

"Does it have anything to do with the abilities and powers you have?"

"Frightly so."

"It looks like it is."

I still didn't look at her so I could make sure that my tone sounded a little indifferent to her which made her feel like she wouldn't ask anything about me anymore.

It was good on the one hand, but on the other hand I wasn't sure if he was really useful to us or not.

"May I ask you something, Reita?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Why don't you go back to Asfa City?"

"I-that's why I can't go back because I don't have anyone near me anymore."

There is no one else near him.

That's natural.

After feeling painful suffering, a person like himself would feel useless if he stayed in the same place as he had done before.

Not only will he remember the memories with his family, he will also experience the turbulent emotions in his heart.

Well, he was just like me so I started to understand him slowly.

Whether this is a coincidence or not, I want as much as possible to know the answer directly through his own mouth.

I made sure he explained it to me without anyone missing.

I promise I'll make him admit everything.

For a few minutes we were silent in each other's minds, breakfast arrived in the room.

One of the waiters at the inn gave us a simple menu to eat in the morning. It could be said that the food is not too heavy but light, namely dry bread sprinkled with cheese on it, accompanied by warm tea in the cup, both of which are the best breakfast I usually eat every day.

As for Reita, I gave her a heavy meal menu, ranging from; large roast chicken, vegetables, grilled beef, etc, as well as some other desserts like cakes and jelly can be seen by me.

The drink itself there are two types, namely milk and water, both of which are in the glass each on the table.

"Is this not excessive?"

"It's okay. You've been unconscious for a while now so it's only natural that you need a lot of energy to do your morning activities."

"That's right. But..."

Her hesitant expression made me feel useless that she still did not want to eat it.

The reason I ordered such a sumptuous and delicious meal just for her was that I wanted her to relax and enjoy whatever she ate without having to think back to me.

Well, you could say he's almost the same as I was.

The day that I had lost everything, I was taken by Uncle Veru to live in Farihiora City. At Farihiora, I got special treatment from her starting from the attention and affection she gave me.

He even purposely gave me good and delicious food and drink, as well as taught me the sword techniques he mastered to not rely on the Necromancer ability that was inside my body.

"Eat! I don't want you to look sick."

"All right."

With a resigned expression and a breath that could be heard, he ate his food.

Not only Reita, Shilph has a fairly delicious menu that is a pair of roasted beef with soy sauce and sauce, accompanied by a refreshing orange juice drink, while Furuhiora has a simple menu of fresh vegetables, as well as clear soup without meat in it, plus water in the glass makes it very simple to enjoy.

The reason why Furuhiora asked me not to order fancy and expensive food was that she wanted to avoid excess fat in her body later on. By reducing fat in her food and drinks, Furuhiora says she can move freely and quickly as she normally would without any constraints.

Well, I understand a fat body that will make anyone hate him for the obstacles that await him. But, I don't know if the diet for the elves is reasonable or not, I just hope that he can occasionally enjoy the same food as humans in general.

"Well, that's beautiful."

In the middle of the city crowd, Reita who looks happy over the structure of the city building in the modern century makes it pounding.

Unlike the Asfa City which still does not look modern as it is now, Reita can only be amazed at the beauty and beauty of the city in Farihiora.

"What do you think?"

"It's so beautiful."

Smiling at his reply, Regard continued on his way.

This time he will take Reita to a place where the scenery can be seen from a height instead of where he once showed this to Shilphonia and Friya, Regard would do it to Reita so that she would not be favorited in giving them special treatment.

"We have arrived."

"It's...."

Stretching her hands, Reita twisted her body. His expression full of happiness and pleasure can be seen by Regard which makes him relieved that his condition has improved.

Initially, Regard thought drinking the blood of a living creature could cause an effect on the person, but it seemed the estimate was wrong.

Reita who had taken a little blood did not experience anything, which means he still needs to learn many things on his journey later to know how far his [Blood Drain] ability can work against other living things.

Regard can't wait to try and do it another day.

For now, the only goal is to let Reita enjoy her time off to calm herself down from her bleak past life.

That's all Regard can do.

During the few minutes they spent enjoying the natural scenery around Farihiora City, they continued their journey to the Adventurers Guild.

Regard led the way, behind him was Reita who followed him.

Older brother...

Looking at her back, Reita shook her head to brush off the shadow of her brother who had gone behind her.

For Reita, the back that was owned by Regard was almost the same as her brother, Daffa who was firm and straight. Not only that, her way of walking and talking a few things before they continued the journey made Reita think she was just like her brother.

Reita recalled the words that were said by the previous Regard.

"We're going to the Adventurers Guild. But before we go, I need you to promise me one thing."

"Promised?"

"Yes. Please keep it a secret about the past and the power I have now from the public."

"Why should it be kept secret? Aren't you strong?"

Clenching both of her hands, Reita could not accept it.

According to him, Regard is very strong and powerful that can be recognized by anyone. It is evident from the words Shilphonia and Friya that tell him he was saved by Regard from the constant rampage makes him feel free to hide the abilities possessed by Regard.

"I don't want to look flashy, and I'm just a rookie adventurer so they think I'm a weakling. That's why I want you to promise to follow my words."

Staring sharply with a serious expression at Reita, Regard believed this could confirm that he was not playing around in his words.

Reita who knew her serious expression and gaze averted her gaze, and nodded in response yes so Regard did not continue his gaze as he would be wretched if something happened to her when they returned to the inn.

That's all Reita can remember.

"Here's the place."

"It's so big."

"Yes. Since they had four floors in the Adventurers Guild it was only natural that this place was large and tall."

Entering the entrance of the Adventurers Guild Hall, all of the adventurers who had been talking to each other, cheering full of fun, laughing, joking, as well as the vent halted for a moment looking towards Regard who was together with a woman behind him.

"Why does he often bring women?"

"Is he shameless?"

"Sweak men like him shouldn't bring so many girls here."

A few whispers heard in each place reached their ears both making Reita want to act to prevent bad talk about Regard coming out. But before Reita does, Regard's hand stops him, which makes him obey his words and then fall silent.

"Let's move on to the Guild Receptionist."

"Good."

Unable to do anything about their bad talk to Regard, Reita is only annoyed and angry at his helplessness in overcoming his own emotions.

Taking a quick glance at Regard, Reita once again saw the figure of her brother who was in Regard. His kindness, humility, easy socializing, and good manners are exactly the same as what his brother did when he was alive.

Why should I remember it again?

Every time Reita recalled that in her mind, she bit her lip, upset over her unforgettable memories.

Reita POVs

That day...

The day that Dad died.

"....."

Since my father's death, I have always been saddened by his death. Me and Brother Daffa are the same, we are both saddened by his passing.

Dad's gone to war. He fought as a human race in his battle against the demon army that was in the nearby region of our village.

For over a year, I've felt nothing about the care and affection that people who still have their fathers have.

"I hope you don't envy them huh, Reita."

By my side, Sister Daffa has always encouraged and supported me so I do not envy those who still have a father in their family.

Other than Sister Daffa, I also still have a mother so I will not be alone.

Unfortunately, none of this lasted long.

About a few months, the demon army arrived in our village. Most of the inhabitants were killed by the violence and abominations committed by the devil against humans.

"Quick get out of here, Reita, Daffa!"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Good."

The three of us ran through the residential settlements that had been burned and destroyed by their atrocities.

Before we could reach the exit of the village, my mother tripped and fell causing us to pause to help her stand up.

But....

Unexpected things happen in front of us.

Our father who we thought had not turned into a demon. His blackened body, the pair of horns on his head and tail behind him, as well as his burly and muscular body frightened us.

"Humans.. humans..."

With a big axe gun, Dad approached Mom who looked terrified.

I can't do anything, neither can Sister Daffa because we both have nothing to do against the creature that has been our family before, a father of ours.

"Man..."

Just as the axe was raised high above his head, the figure was about to slash at Mother.

I don't know if we'll end up in this place or not, I hope someone helps us. So, I was constantly hoping inwardly for people who would help us in urgent situations like now.

As soon as my hope materialized, the head of the figure that resembled Father fell to the ground. The blood spurting out from his neck, as well as his shocked-looking face really made us unable to bear to look at him.

"Are you guys okay?"

"Yes. Thanks for the help, Mr. Knight."

"No problem. It's already a duty—"

Just as his words came to a halt, the three of us were startled by the bloodstained hole in the heart of the Knight Uncle who saved us.

The uncle's body fell down and was gone in an instant.

"It's really sad huh."

In front of us, a woman in a black dress that looked graceful and beautiful, as well as the sickle she was holding actually looked scary, walking up to Mom.

"Daffa, Reita, I want you to get out of here so you can live happily outside sa—"

The slash hit Mother's body which caused her to split in two. Blood flowed out from those slash marks which caused a pool of blood to be seen by the two of us.

Me and Brother Daffa, we both with sad expressions, shouted while running in fear.

From then on, I lost the love and care of a mother.
