The Necromancers

The Necromancers
Ch. 4:The Training of a Necromancer

"Can I ask you to be friends with Stephani?"

"Friends yes. Sorry, I can't do it."

"Eh?"

"Huh?"

Shocked at Regard's answer, Stephani and the blonde-haired girl are puzzled as to why he refused her sincere request.

"To be honest I don't want to know about what really happened to you, whether you have multiple personalities or not, my only goal is to explore the Sylvia Ruins."

"Is that all?"

"Yes, that's all."

Hearing the words of Regard, Stephani who held back her anger felt annoyed at his words.

It is true that Regard came just to explore the ruins to make it easier for other adventurers to explore the Sylvia Ruins, but Stephani feels her rejection is too strange to accept because the request came not from her but her other self whose personality is different from her.

Moreover, her other self has a good personality, friendly, caring, and caring so Stephani feels annoyed at the words of Regard.

"Whisper! I'm out of sense now. Can I hit you?"

"certain. Go ahead if you want!"

"really? Thank you for your kindness."

Clenching both hands, Stephani intended to collect a large amount of mana in one of his punches to make Regard battered.

"Death, You Foolish Man!"

"....."

Right in front of Regard's face, Stephani and the blonde-haired girl are shocked by something unusual, especially Stephani, he who had originally laid down a large amount of mana in his punch suddenly had his movements stopped and the mana accumulated in his fists just vanished.

What the hell is going on?

Wondering to herself, Stephani did not understand at all the absurd events.

Seeing the two girls puzzled over what had happened, Regard with his floor laughed out loud. He himself did not expect that the two allegedly great and strong girls were confused over what had happened to their bodies. Not only that, Regard had also thought that it would happen so he deliberately let Stephani put a lot of mana in his fist to beat his face.

However, all of Stephani's efforts ended in failure.

"Hows it? Are you guys surprised?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"How can you withstand an attack from Stephani?"

"simple. When I awaken your soul, I use my skill, Soul Return so that you can come back to life."

"But in exchange for your second life, I put down a Soul Contract that specialized me in possessing a portion of the souls of the two of you."

Showing the soul that Regard holds, Stephani and the blonde-haired girl are surprised that Regard anticipates everything easily without them thinking before.

In Regard's hand, a dark and white soul that floated side by side signified that this was part of the souls of the two girls nearby.

"If you really want to kill me then do it, but instead I'll move your body like a doll."

Eliminating the souls shown to them, Regard resolutely displayed them through his sharp gaze and serious expression.

Stephani and the blonde girl looked at each other. Sweat had flowed in the bodies of those who knew the intent of the words of the Regard.

The point of the words of Regard is that they can kill him whenever they want, but instead they will be controlled completely like puppets, be it; have intercourse or eliminate all existing humans, he said, Stephani and the blond girl were sure it would make themselves uneasy in nature there.

"If you understand, then good."

Waking up from his seat, Regard took the initiative to leave the two of them in ruins alone.

"Wait a minute, man!"

"What's wrong? Shouldn't you be grateful that you're still alive?"

"That's..."

"Actually we want to talk about the advantages of you."

"Excessively? Whatchu mean?"

Silence said nothing, Stephani and the blonde girl looked at each other and nodded once.

They turned their eyes towards Regard, they deliberately talked about this to know the extent of the ability and power that Regard had so far.

"May I know where you learned the Necromancer technique?"

"I learned manually. Someone taught me so I could do it."

Clenching his hands and smiling confidently, Regard proudly said so.

"Manual learning?"

"Someone taught you? That's a lie, isn't it? Wouldn't humans lose control if they had the Necromancer class?"

"No, that person is not a human but a Demon King."

"Demon King!?"

Surprised at Regard's words, the two girls did not believe what he said.

As far as Stephani and the blond girl, the Demon King had been gone for a long time after the long battle that had occurred in the past so it was impossible for them to be sure that he was still alive.

"Initially I was quite difficult to teach her which caused me to lose control of my own body, but at least the effort and time I spent with her was not in vain now."

Staring at both of his arms, a sad expression they could see on Regard's face.

For Stephani and the long blonde girl, the sadness emitted by Regard was not an ordinary sadness but a deep sadness towards something. Whether it was; losing control of his body or losing those closest to him, the two of them knew nothing about Regard's background.

"I'll tell you about the training I've been doing all this time."

•••••

Why is my entire village destroyed? Where is everyone?

Regard who returned to the village after being revived for the second time on earth was startled by the terrifying sight he could see.

On the side of Regard, Veru could only watch her up close how sinister the scenery she was seeing now was. Moreover, the scenery itself leaves nothing from the existing buildings, on the contrary, all the buildings that originally existed residential areas have completely disappeared from where they are.

Not only the disappearance of the settlement, the blood on the surface of the land that has dried up makes Veru sure that the people in the village have been killed vilely by the demon army.

"Son, calm yourself!"

"Where can I possibly calm down, Uncle!"

"....."

"After being successfully revived, I thought I could return to the village with everyone. But, it's all for nothing."

Looking up at the ceiling, Regard's gaze felt hopeless and gave up.

"Is it better that I don't?"

As he asked himself that, Regard laughed softly.

Hearing his frustrated words, Veru immediately approached him and held both of his shoulders from the front.

"Listen to this, son, no matter if you will live again or not, you come with me! We will live together in Farihiora City."

"Living in the city."

In an instant a black fog appeared around Regard.

Suddenly shocked at what he saw, Veru immediately retreated from the Regard.

He himself did not know why he was retreating, but his instincts said that something strange had happened to Regard, the boy he was visiting before.

"I can't stand this world. Every time I live, someone always dies for me."

Slowly the black fog grew bigger and expanded around Regard making Veru surprised in the backward movement and away from him.

"It's better if I destroy this world immediately."

Annihilate it?

A strong wind blew that made Veru's sight unable to see it.

In the distance, darkness began to envelop Regard's heart and mind which made his gaze even darker. Hatred, despair, anger, resentment, disappointment, and wrath had been felt.

"Get it out from before me, man!"

It's a lie, isn't it?

Before being able to move dodging his attack, Veru thought that he would die a second time.

His memory of the past was dashed in his mind both when he was young to the point that he became a Royal Knight, everything flashed through his mind.

In the end, the only regret Veru felt was not the pain and fear of his death but his regret at not being able to realize that life was more precious than anything around him.

But all of that is too late.

Regard who lost control prepares to kill Veru so he can only surrender to the death that will take his life.

Good bye, Son!

With an expression full of regret, Veru closed his eyes and hoped that after killing himself, Regard could come back to himself.

Before Veru's body was hit by a punch from the Regard's fist, his body was pushed deep into the ground surface which left him shocked at what had happened.

"....."

Waking up from lying on the ground, Veru is struck by an unfamiliar black shadow figure that saves her from the rampage of Regard.

"Are you okay, man?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Seeing the cloak hood covered by the black mist move, Veru was sure he turned his gaze towards Regard.

Overall, Veru had absolutely no idea about what kind of creature saved him. But, one thing he knew was that the creature was not a lowly creature but a powerful being higher in existence than itself.

Otherwise strong it would be impossible for him to withstand the attack from the Regard with just one arm without the slightest difficulty.

The Demon King.

According to the fairy tale he had heard, Veru knew that the Demon King had a human-looking appearance but was covered by black fog throughout his appearance. All that could be seen was that his clothes - the black robe, the hood of the robe, and the robe that covered his pants - could be known while the rest was hard to figure out.

Why would a Demon King be in this place?

Don't tell me he's gonna...

Putting on a watchful expression at the unfathomable presence like the Demon King, both of Veru's arms held swords and scabbards that took the initiative to protect her if something happened to her and Regard.

"It's a pity that I don't intend to kill or make you a man, on the contrary, I'm only interested in this boy."

"That kid? You mean Regard Arthen?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Tilting his face and pondering for a moment, Veru did not understand the meaning of his words at all.

Every time he thought of the Demon King's words, his mind was simply unable to find the answer. Which means that he himself does not know for what purpose the Demon King came here for.

Does he want to recruit Regard into his men or force him to join the demon army? Veru did not understand his intentions at all.

"You're really stupid, man."

"....."

Upset at his words earlier, Veru who did not accept looked intently at the existence of the Demon King who was still holding back against Regard's attack with one hand.

"To be honest I was attracted to this child not because of his existence, but because of his strength and ability that he received after his second life."

"His strength and ability?"

"Yes, he has received the Necromancer class."

"Necromancers?"

That's a lie, isn't it?

According to Veru, the Necromancer is a class forbidden to humans, be it for good or evil, the ability that the Necromancer class has requires humans to end up as monsters, demons or even capable of obliterating themselves by exploding suddenly.

That was why Veru was shocked after hearing the reality.

The fact that Regard already has a Necromancer class, a class forbidden to humans who hear it.

"Don't worry, Man. This child was not within reasonable limits, he simply lost control of his accumulated and turbulent negative emotions in his heart."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, you can believe my words."

Even though the Demon King told him to believe, Veru still doubted him.

It could have been the Demon King lying to him that made Veru believe so he deliberately doubted him because his words sounded less convincing.

"I can't believe it."

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Regard's body suddenly felt heavy which resulted in him falling to the ground with his face in pain.

"Maybe you doubt me because I'm the one you're afraid of, but here I play a friend so you can at least assume that I'm completely honest and straightforward with you."

As much as the Demon King's energy kicked Regard's body which made him bounce far away and fall on the ground with many bruises due to the hard impact on the surface.

Although the bruise itself slowly dissipated, Regard was able to rise and gaze hatefully at the Demon King.

Go, Son!
