The Versatile

The Versatile
Chapter 12's

Hazel walks after Josh, she doesn't know this place, she only remembers some of the corridors she passed by when she was taken. Josh kept running through the corridor-kodiror. There were some people who passed by them, but they were unconscious.

“Josh how can we get out of here? this place has strict security,” tone sounds worried.

“Quiet, my father works in state custody. I could've hacked all the security here. Quickly enter here,” command Josh while opening an air vent hole.

This place was designed as best as possible so that all the prisoners who tried to escape did not succeed, but Josh knew quite a few of the weaknesses of this place. Ventilation room, if the ventilation room is made closed then the air will not enter, because most places and houses are only made of a mixture of iron and metal.

It can be regulated air levels, but it cannot make air. Iron and metal are very dense, so air cannot enter through metal pores. Only air vents can be entered by air. Therefore, the air ventilation space is made not closed.

“You sure this works?” ask Hazel in doubt.

“Nothing didn't work, before we tried it.”

Josh comes in first, then hazel. They crawl to walk here. A stuffy smell mixed with hot air was smelled from the hole. Hazel tries to hold her breath, not so with Josh, she looks relaxed and enjoys the air. Since he was focused only on himself and Josh, he does not remember that there was Spencer in this age.

Not long after Josh stopped, making Hazel hit Josh. Hazel glanced in front of Josh, there was a hole that could take them out of there. Josh tried to open it, but the iron was too strong to open with his bare hands.

Josh picked up his bag that he had been carrying, took out a device to open it. For a few seconds Hazel waited and Josh managed to open it. It was like just coming out of a stuffy basement full of dust. Hazel let out a long sigh, the fresh air that she needed since just now.

“You have a phone?” ask Hazel at last.

Josh turned around and looked at her, “This is what I suspected, since the first time we met, you've been acting weird. There's a lot you don't know. Tell me exactly where you're from?”

“I am from 2017, my contemporaries asked me to know what my father hid from them,” hazel voice choked a little.

“Why didn't your father tell them?”

“My father died, so they told me to find out. My father made a device, but what we found was an old model tool that he made. We didn't find the new tool. For this tool to work we have to gather people from different countries who have physical similarities. Not exactly the same, but it looks the same. And after the device worked, all of a sudden I was already here and I met your father.”

“Alright, I'll help you Hazel. But you have to promise me that the things you do can be held accountable.”

“Of course, now I need a phone,” said hazel.

“ID you can use to call.” Josh crossed his arms.

Hazel glanced at her wrists. “Oh yes, thank you. How does it work?”

Josh approached Hazel, and Hazel was a little surprised and took a few steps back. But Josh kept on going after him. “From Hazel!” josh commands gently, then Hazel approaches. “Press this, now enter the number!” Josh is close to him, very close. Even Hazel felt her heart beating fast, she wished Josh had not heard the sound of her heart.

“Hazel, this number has not been used for a long time. Now we use our ID number to call.”

“No one can't before we try right?” Hazel pressed her number and waited. The first ring sounds, then the second ring, then the third. And someone lifted it.

“Halo? Who's this?” said the person speaking from the phone. Hazel was very familiar with that voice, a very sexy voice.

“Spencer, it's me Hazel. I need your help now,” Hazel said in a slow tone, so as not to be heard.

“Where are you now?” ask Spencer. His voice sounded relaxed, but Hazel could hear the worry inside.

“Ehm... A moment,” then Hazel switched to Josh. “We are where Josh is?” hazel asks Josh, who is still next to her.

  “Who are you?”

“It doesn't matter, tell me where you are now? Hazel and I are going there. Too risky if you're in this place.”

“Wait a minute,” Spencer turned on the light, his eyes narrowed due to the light of the lamp. Then she got out of bed and looked for something. “I'm not sure where I am, which I know I'm in a house that has no inhabitants. Either this house is unused or not, but there is no one here.”

Josh's hearing sharpened after hearing that. “I know the place, but a bit far from here.”

“How do you know that place? indeed, there is only one house that is not occupied, not necessarily the house we are looking for,” Hazel denied.

“There is only one house that Hazel has never occupied. Every empty house must be occupied by someone else. There is no one who does not have a home. According to the news of the owner of the house mysteriously disappeared, there were those who saw him with a woman, even though he had never brought a woman to his house before. He also has no wife. After a few days he never came out, the police suspected that he had died inside. But when the police wanted to check, the house was not open, in various ways, hacking, even damaging the system, but it was still not open. Finally the police left the house closed for good.”

“Then what about Spencer? How could he open that door?” ask Hazel, who is still hiding behind the bushes.

“That's what I don't understand, but now the most important thing is that we get out of this place.”

A car passes by, leaving Hazel and Josh on standby. A policeman came out of there with a device Hazel had never seen before. “I have an idea Josh,” says Hazel,.

Hazel approached the policeman slowly. He knows what to do. Hazel stabbed the policeman in the back, and a policeman got out of the car and tried to stab Hazel back. Josh ran and hit the cop. The two policemen fall, Hazel gets into the car and Josh follows her.

“Good move Hazel,” praise Josh.

“That's nothing compared to Spencer. He is very good at fighting with his bare hands.”

The first thing they had to do was escape the guard at the gate. It is not easy to avoid, but they will try to calm down. Upon arriving in front of the gate, many policemen in full uniforms and guns swarmed.

There were three cars in front of them that were checked to get out. When the third car, which is the car in front of them will come out, the door immediately opens. Hazel pressed the gas pedal firmly. As the door opened and the car in front of him walked out, Hazel pushed the car out quickly so they could escape the guard.

The police opened fire on their car, Hazel kept her gas pedal pressed. Josh clung to the doorknob, then searched around for his seatbelt to install.

“You never drive this fast huh?” hazel asked with a mocking smile. The sirens appeared and there were about half a dozen police cars following them behind.

“Of course not. We can't drive under forty kilos per hour. If we violate it then the government has determined its punishment, the sting flazz twenty times. Besides, you always drive like this?”

“No, it's my first time driving over sixty kilo meters per hour and you know what? This is my first time driving a car.”

The speech made Josh shocked, this was the first time he was driving a car and he could already beat the police with sixty kilo meters per hour. Greatable. Luckily it's night, the road is empty. If it's daytime, Hazel's gonna be ramming people or shops.

“To which direction now Josh?” ask Hazel who is still focused on the streets.

“We should stay away from them first. The house is in the area of East 8, still twenty kilo meters from here.”

“Alright we will take care of these policemen,” just then Hazel turns the road opposite direction, the road is deserted. And Hazel's really driving like crazy.
