Spencer's ready to do his best thing again. However, this time it felt different, he was together with a girl he had never known before. Just as she was with Hazel, Hazel really showed her courage without ever showing her weakness to anyone including Spencer. While Nissa sometimes he looks weak but looks strong. That's what sets them apart.
“You ready? We're going to get out of the border, that's our only way, ” Spencer explained.
Nissa nodded. It had been dark since then, but Nissa had to wait for her sister to sleep, because she did not want her sister to get involved. Better he's here and safe, there'll be a lot of people who will take care of him.
Spencer was at the door with enough equipment. Nissa is ready. Now that their journey felt very lonely, not a single person spoke. Nissa was eager to talk, but Spencer seemed too serious.
Of course, what Spencer is thinking about right now is Hazel. She desperately wanted to hug Hazel, staring into her green eyes that were as green as her name. He even wants to kiss her. Spencer walked away with his footprints sanded, but the wind was no less blowing and erased his tracks.
Now that his mind was back, he just remembered that he was with someone here as well. Spencer turned around, looking at Nissa who had looked bored since. He's walking downhill following Spencer's lead.
“I'm sorry, I forgot you were with me,” uajr Spencer later.
“It's okay. People like me are often forgotten, because it is not important to remember.” His tone was slightly insinuating.
Spencer squinted his eyes. “I didn't mean it that way. It's just, I was thinking about something else.”
“It's okay.” Nissa only smiled slightly, then bowed back.
Now they have reached the border. The place where Spencer found water for the people down there. They went into one of the nearest doors and down the stairs, the lights were on instantly. The sound of running water sounded very clear.
“So this is their water storage place?” ask Nissa.
“Yes, all their water needs are from here.”
Spencer walked back as he had done before. This time through a different door, but towards the same place. Another door and they went down. Now they are inside the dam. Spencer took the time to climb up the dam so that Nissa could see the city. When they got to Nissa, they froze.
“So this is an underground city? Not more beautiful than above. Then why don't they realize that this dam blends into their ceiling?” ask Nissa to Spencer.
Spencer doesn't know the answer either. He didn't even think that this dam fused with his sky. Of course it fused, where would they pass if the ceiling and the dam were not fused? Is there a way of seeing? Answer's no.
When Spencer came to this place he saw some workers downstairs. But no one's up. Now he was starting to worry about whether he could get out of this dam. There were a few passageways that they had to pass through to get to the bottom. Spencer's never been through this before, because he's just looking over it.
The road is going down ahead. Spencer reminds Nissa to be careful, they're very far from the ground and if it's over. Nissa groped the steepening road, while Spencer tried to focus and not think about Hazel for now, believing she would be fine.
As if unwilling to budge, his mind went inside and it was as if he felt lost from this world to the imaginary world that Hazel contained. In Spencer's heart kept on turning. "Hazel will be fine!" those words kept him repeating in his mind until he returned to his current state.
The stairs that were fused on this wall made Nissa shudder. Not because he is afraid of heights, but this place looks scary, although not as scary as the uninhabited buildings up there who are hundreds of years old.
The distance from the top of this dam to the ground must be very far. Staying focused and patient is the key to getting to the bottom safely. The wrong steps will fall.
It took them fifteen minutes to get to the bottom. Because it was night time it seemed like no more workers were coming. The roofs of these dams are made of iron, almost the same as those used to make their houses.
When reaching below they remain careful in case there are still workers in this place. This room is dark, unlike in the water storage above which the lights use motion sensors. Only some of the rays coming from outside illuminate them. The rest of them only relied on careful palpation and footsteps.
“Nissa, hold the end of my shirt!” spencer's orders. “I don't want us to get lost here until morning. That's ridiculous,” the tanmbah.
Nissa is looking for Spencer's shirt, now Nissa and Spencer are very close. When Nissa only held onto the tip of Spencer's shirt, Spencer pulled her hand and held her tightly. At this moment Nissa's face was definitely flushed red, fortunately dark, she could not even see her own hands.
Spencer's hands are warm, Niss's hands are cold. “Your hands are cold. You cold?” ask Spencer then.
Nissa did not answer because she was afraid that when she answered, her voice would sound nervous. It would be embarrassing for him. But Spencer insisted on waiting for the answer. “Nissa? Why are you quiet? You cold?” ask Spencer again.
When Nissa would answer hesitantly. Spencer saw a ray of light at the end there that was likely their way out. “Hey, I think that's the exit.” Spencer pulled Nissa and ran towards the light.
And sure enough, it's a door but it can't be opened. How they got out of here. Spencer takes his grip off Nissa. His hands are a little sweaty. He forgot how to open the door down here, the door would open if he recognized his ID. However, since this place is guarded by the government then he must enter his ID.
There was a number and letter button on the right, Spencer tried to enter the numbers and letters that he managed to think about. It popped up and made Spencer remember everything about this place.
The text says (ID is not recognized. Please enter your ID!)
After she entered her ID ― was her real ID father Hazel ― but that ID was all she had and it was the one she had been using all this time here. After entering his ID, the writing appeared again. (ID accepted please enter Mr. Skylar.)
The door was open, Spencer was on guard if anyone was in front. Spencer first went out and followed by Nissa who was impatient to see the beautiful houses that she had longed for. Even a soft mattress and good food that he had never eaten before.
The lights illuminate the streets in place of the moon, the gate of this dam looks quite far from here, but Spencer and Nissa can still see it.
Nissa notices her clothes that Spencer promised to replace. "Spencer," call Nissa slow. His voice sounded so soft as if Spencer was the most fragile thing in the world. "Are we going to buy clothes. Because my clothes are so dirty now."
Spencer stopped and looked at Nissa, who was cleaning her veil from the dust. It seemed like the dust had already stuck before they went here and it was getting more and more dirty.
"We'll find it later." Spencer walked back to the gate. It's not that he doesn't care that his mind is being overrun by Hazel.
Nissa followed Spencer lazily. "It's better I don't come if I know he's going to act like this" he told himself. But a lot of good sides are already, maybe even going to happen, Nissa knows that.
The sound of silence followed by the sounds of a quiet night. Nissa looked up at the sky. It was dark and there was no moon to light up, not even stars. How Nissa wants a nice house, but compared to what they don't see down here it's not worth it.
Spencer stops suddenly and makes Nissa hit him until he almost loses his balance. But his strong footing on the ground helped him to remain standing.
"Spencer, why did you stop?" Nissa scrunched her forehead, then held her forehead.
"I'm sorry, it was like seeing someone. I'm afraid we've been caught sneaking in here" Spencer said in a slow tone.
Nissa looked around, looking around for people Spencer might have meant. But after how many times he looked around while turning his body, there was no one. Their cautiousness is sometimes greater than their fear. After learning that there was no one but them, Spencer again opened his gate with the ID he had.
Now they are outside the gate that fortunately they can pass, even though it belongs to the government. Spencer still remembers the meeting point between Spencer and Hazel before Spencer suddenly disappeared.
"Nissa, do you know how to go to Monas?" ask Spencer.
Nissa was silent for a moment, she was not sure if the path here and above were the same. "Hmm, I'm not sure Spencer. Is it the same here and my place?" asked Nissa hesitantly.
"During my observation up there, the road to Monas was the same. There may be some buildings that do not exist. I remember the mall you showed me at the time, I've seen it here."
"Well, maybe if it's on the highway I'll remember."
They both walked down the path. The streets are covered with trees, they are in the forest. After walking quite far from the artificial forest, they arrived at a large street. The street was quiet, a little dark due to its dim lighting.
"We're on the road, do you remember the way now?" ask Spencer.
"Hmm, I don't think I remember any of these woods and streets." Nissa justifies her veil.
Spencer raised one eyebrow. "Maybe we have to walk forward again." There was an indirect disappointed tone.
Nissa obviously didn't like Spencer's attitude, which was a little different when he was up there. Nissa hastened her way to get ahead of Spencer. And now Nissalah is leading the way. He just wants Spencer to know that he doesn't like his suddenly changing attitude.
This large street is still covered by trees, along which Spencer and Nissa walk separately. Nissa walked ahead and always sped her way up if Spencer was close.
Indeed this dam is quite far from the city, the government does not want any civilians to enter this area.
From a distance the sound of a car engine was heard. A ramp blocked Nissa's view. "I think I heard the car." Nissa ran up the ramp. Spencer stared at him until Nissa could no longer see him down the ramp.
Spencer quickly catches up with Nissa, fearing that something bad might be up there. When it was above the ramp Nissa no longer exists. Spencer ran across the street. Nissa seemed to be standing, Spencer had no idea what she was doing. Quiet yourself and put on a flat face.
Spencer approached him, several cars passed by and stared at them. Fortunately the streets were a little dark, so only their car spotlights helped them see.
"We need a ride" said Spencer, who was suddenly next to Nissa.
