Hazel was hesitant at first, but she got here. The place where his father hid something he didn't know. But if Haikal can help him why not?
“This is just between you and me. Hear that! I am not of this age, I am of the year two thousand and seventeen. My father asked me to find something, if you could help me it would mean a lot to me.”
Haikal's face changed instantly, not what Hazel wanted. “OK I'll help you. And what about your friend? Are they just like you?”
“Spencer yes, Josh no,” Hazel leaned her body. This time his mind goes back to Josh and Spencer. At the same time someone opened the door. His face was like someone he knew. “Spencer!”
“Who's Spencer? If it's your girlfriend, it's not me.” The man approached Haikal lazily. Looks like he wants to say something, but it's delayed because there's Hazel.
“You Spencer!” this time Hazel stood up from her chair.
The man looked confused, as did Haikal. The man does look like Spencer, but he has brown eyes.
“I told you, if that's your boyfriend means not me miss,” the guy spoke more softly.
“Wait! She's Spencer?” ask Haikal.
Hazel's eyes narrowed. “Almost, Spencer has blue eyes,” explains Hazel.
“He's my working partner. His name is Hamish, not Spencer.”
Hamish extended his hand to Hazel “Hamish, not Spencer. But if you like to call me Spencer is also okay,” seductive Hamish.
Hamish does look like Spencer, but that doesn't mean it's Spencer. “Oh yes, when I go to your house, why is the place so remote? When in America he said there is no such small place, even the houses look good all.”
“That's what we're investigating, you're from the future. When you change the past, the future changes. I guess that's what's happening now.”
Hamish looks colder now, he's not like Haikal who is clearly of Asian descent. Hamish looks like a mix, with his brown eyes. “How long has this been going on?” asked Hazel who then turned her eyes away from Hamish.
“I think a month. If something can change all these circumstances then I will help you,” Haikal looked at Hazel expectantly.
“Hey, we are partners. We'll help you,” his gaze to Hazel, then turn to Haikal. “Not you will help him.”
Hamish does look like a person who likes to play around, in contrast to Haikal who has a calm nature but behind his calmness he has acted correctly. While Hamish while being relaxed he will relax but when being serious he will be serious, although a little joke in every word.
Hazel was silent in her seat, she remembered the words she had written just before she left her father's house. Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. He read it and gave it to Haikal. “You know what this means?” ask Hazel.
Haikal picked it up, then read it quietly. Hamish was still sitting down. “Golden flame tongue.” Haikal.
“I think it's a clue, but I can't interpret what it means.” Hazel rubbed her eyes.
Haikal gave it to Hamish, he did not look as serious as Haikal when reading it. Then they spoke their language, Hazel did not understand what they were talking about. Indonesian is easy to learn, but Hazel never intended to learn it. Maybe after this he will try to learn Indonesian.
“There is one very famous tourist spot here, but unlike Eiffel, or Pissa tower, he is not quite famous outside. Most people visit Indonesia because of Bali,” Haikal explained.
“Continue,” by Hazel.
“Name Monas, national monument. He is shaped like a torch upon which there is a fire made of gold.”
“I think that's the place we're looking for. We'd better get there before long.”
“Good, I'll prepare the car.”
Haikal immediately left this room and took the car. Only Hazel and Hamish are left in this room. The awkward atmosphere kept approaching them. Hamish's face shriveled, he looked at Hazel who had been looking at him ever since.
“I know, I look like your girlfriend. But don't equate me with him yeah.” Hamish's temptation to Hazel realizes that Hamish is looking at him.
“Hey, I told you she's not my girlfriend. She's married okay!” hazel said annoyed. If Hazel remembers that, she gets more upset with Spencer, so does Josh. They both dumped him for no apparent reason.
They deserve this, and Hazel needs to breathe from both of them. Although Haikal and Hamish are not of American origin they have good English. Even very fluent, as if that was their daily language, even more unique without stammering they also mastered their language that Hazel did not know at all.
Hamish got up from his seat, “We'd better catch up with Haikal. He doesn't like waiting.”
They also walked out of the room together. Everyone in this office looked towards the two of them. One of Hamish's friends even teased him, but in Indonesian. Hazel doesn't understand, but it's clear from Hamish's face that she doesn't like to be treated that way.
Five minutes after that they had reached the car and immediately headed to the place they were headed, namely Monas. Haikal was driving.
“Wait! It's not run by an automatic machine? Does this include its effect?” hazel asked a little surprised.
Hamish and Haikal laughed. “Of course not! You want to be detected? This car is owned by agents like us. Field agents, because to be undetected in this era is very difficult,” Haikal explained.
“So the ancients, what else do you not know in this modern age?” taunting Hamish on Hazel.
“Purba? Do I look like that? I'm not tinngal in the age of dinosaurs. This modern age is too torturous. In my day we eat by chewing, unlike you who eat strange steam with a strange taste and immediately full. It was really weird,” Hazel stopped for a while. “One more, we people who live in the past have a familiarity with each other with neighbors and friends. As far as I can see, I've never seen anyone else visit each other.”
Haikal and Hamish were completely dumbfounded. As long as this is the reality, they are friends but never visit each other.
“Yes! That's what I meant. When all the needs of people have been fulfilled then they do not care about the surrounding. Though all the needs they get also come from the people around them.” This time Hazel's words awakened them. That's right, there are no poor people so their concern is reduced. That is what they cannot get out of this world.
Their conversation made the journey felt and they had reached Monas. The place was very spacious, after Haikal parked his car, they immediately entered Monas. Though Monas is very likely to be one of the world tours like Eiffel. But why isn't this place as famous as Eiffel? That's what Hazel thought.
“Now where is the place?” ask Haikal.
“I don't know, my father didn't show me where he was just writing ′Golden Flame Tongue' and no more.”
“So, you don't know where? The monas is quite spacious, do we have to surround this place?” ask Hamish.
They all thought, their faces started to stiffen. Especially Hazel, after a few hours of not meeting Spencer and Josh unsettling her. Although Hamish looks like Spencer, he's not Spencer.
“I have to meet Spencer! He knows what we have to do,” Hazel said suddenly.
“You're sure he knows what we have to do?” haikal asked while rubbing his hair.
“Ya,” Hazel said confidently. Though she's not sure, she'd better meet Spencer.
They all followed Haikal to the parking lot, but their steps were blocked by someone firing his firearm at them. They immediately took cover from behind the cars. The guy doesn't look like an Indonesian and he looks like a little girl, his face is pale. But how could a little girl be left to carry a firearm and wear it. After all, the boy was seen training with the weapon, and his shot almost hit Hazel and Hamish.
Hazel is separated from Haikal and Hamish. The girl kept shooting at them, there was no room to run. Unfortunately Haikal and Hamish did not have firearms to return fire. If it is clear they will return fire and a firefight ensues, unfortunately they are in the age without firearms.
As they were being surrounded by the girl's gunfire, someone shot his gun from the other direction. Is that Spencer, considering that everybody can't have a firearm unless Spencer's here. Hazel searched where the shot was coming from, a man in a black jacket and jeans. Someone behind him clearly looks a little younger but still shows his toughness side.
“Spencer! Josh!” Hazel shouted in excitement.
Hamish and Haikal followed Hazel's gaze. At first glance when Haikal saw that person, he was very similar to Hamish. But there's no way it's Hamish, because now he's beside her and he's also stunned to see the two.
Outnumbered, the girl left. Hazel didn't imagine if Spencer and Josh hadn't come to see what would have happened to them, they would have been killed there. Hazel stood up from her shelter, eager to run up to Spencer and embrace him. Unfortunately when he remembered Spencer had a wife he quickly dismissed the thought and approached Hamish.
“So this is Spencer who is similar to me?” asked Hamish who now looked relaxed again.
“I just found out, if I have a twin here,” Spencer sniffed.
“I too, but obviously I'm more handsome than him!” taunted Hamish.
Spencer looked at Hamish with a look of dislike, then at Hazel. “Why did you leave without telling us!” tone's upset.
“You are too slumbering with your sleep. Besides, you didn't ignore me for no reason then, so I guess you won't care.”
Josh was silent, still glued to see Hamish and Spencer look the same. Haikal was busy researching Spencer's firearms.
“Not mean we don't worry about you.” This time his voice sounded soft.
“Alright, now is not the time to fight! We need weapons like the ones I brought and hiding places.” Hamish interrupts Hazel and Spencer's conversation.
They were all silent, from where they got the weapons. Hazel narrowed her eyes, maybe her father kept some weapons in her house. “Maybe my dad keeps a gun he's hiding at home.”
“Yes, but it means we have to go back to America,” Josh interrupts.
“If it can make us armed why not?” Hamish added.
Haikal rubbed his chin. “This is the plan, you're Spencer, Josh and Hazel. Go back to America. Maybe you can find another clue there and go back with the weapon.” Haikal explained his plan. “While Hamish and I will be waiting for you here and preparing your needs when you get here. Hurry up, we don't have much time. The meeting place over Monas. Code: His sun stings.”
They nodded in agreement. Now that they're separated, Haikal's with Hamish. Spencer, Josh, and Hazel go the other way. “Where did you park the car?” ask Hazel.
“We didn't get in the car, we walked. It was safer,” replied Josh.
Hazel walks behind Josh and Spencer. They walked so fast that Hazel had to run small to match their steps. The atmosphere of the streets was quite crowded, so Hazel's screams were not heard by them.
“Hey! What's wrong with you guys?” he snapped Hazel and stopped at her place.
Josh and Spencer turned around, Josh raising his eyebrows. Spencer showed his expressionless face. “We should have asked why you suddenly disappeared and suddenly you were with that freak!” Spencer replies, of course it's a response Hazel doesn't want.
“Someone sent me a letter through my hotel door. And I can't keep quiet, after all he's not weird and his name is Hamish.” Hazel gulped as she said that name.
They return to the hotel quickly, but Josh and Hazel switch places. Hazel's been moving all her stuff. Now he sits on the edge of the bed. His eyes kept looking at the window. A beautiful world if only there was no change in history. Hazel lowered her head. Hazel realizes she's wearing a necklace she took from her father. With pendulum lettering HS.
The sun is falling from the surface. It was replaced by a moon that shone brightly. Hazel felt the cold of the night stab her in the skin. A world of equality and peace is perfect. But if the people don't know each other at all and are just selfish about what it will be. That's what Hazel always thought. Can changing history change anything?
