The Versatile
Chapter 28's

Nissa slightly lowered her head when she knew that passing cars were watching them. He was sure for sure because his appearance had never been seen before as Spencer had said. Fortunately they come at night, so people only catch a glimpse without having to reconfirm what they see.

A police patrol car was seen from afar with lights turning in circles. Then the car stopped right in front of Spencer and Nissa. Dealing with someone is a Spencer skill that until now he still uses in his work. Sometimes there's a fine line between lying and tricking, but Spencer doesn't lie for himself.

A policeman got out of the car, the other one stayed behind the wheel. The policeman looked at Nissa with a strange look, between curiosity, disgust, dislike, and suspicion.

"What are you guys doing here? And what's with your clothes?" The policeman glanced at Nissa.

"Yes, we were lost. Our car broke down in the middle of the road, so we dropped it. We're through those woods, then this,” Spencer pointed to Nissa. “My girlfriend fell and her shirt got stuck in the roots of the tree, and it was dirty." Spencer was a bit hesitant when he said girlfriend. What can I do than he says Nissa is his sister, not similar at all.

"Are you okay?" ask the police again in Indonesian. He was convinced that Nissa was Indonesian.

"Yes, I'm good. It's just that we need a ride and I'm tired and hungry. Maybe soaking for an hour can relieve my fatigue," said Nissa with a seductive tone and Indonesian language.

After being silent for a few seconds and seeing Nissa without blinking a single bit, the policeman gave them a ride. "Come in! We'll take you all the way to town. And you can soak and change your clothes." The police opened the back door.

Spencer goes in first, he shows a look of dislike when the police see Nissa. Stares like the bad guy Spencer always hated. In the car, the other policeman watched them every minute through the glass.

Out of annoyance Spencer held Nissa's hand and held it. "Are you cold? It seems like the air is getting cold." Without waiting for Nissa Spencer's reply blew Nissa's hand gently.

Nissa was a little startled and briefly flinched back, but then she realized this was just acting. The policeman who had been watching them since now did not stare at them anymore. Spencer stopped blowing Nissa's hand, but she still held her hand tightly and put it on her lap.

Just a twenty-minute drive to the city, even with this kind of atmosphere it was like three hours in a restraint and as if they were a pair of prisoners found dating in the middle of the forest.

"You have arrived" said one of the officers who spoke to them.

Spencer and Nissa opened the back door together. The officer opened the car window.

"Thank you sir. We appreciate your help" Nissa said, lowering her body a little so she could see the other police officer.

"Together and be careful on the road."

Spencer put his hand down like he was going to respect. Then they disappeared from the crowd.

Hazel let out a long sigh, not knowing how many times she kept being questioned and she gave no answer at all. The food ration has been reduced from three times to one. And he always felt hungry when night fell.

His habit that even now tormented him was his hunger in the early hours of the morning when he woke up. Now he wakes up more often at night and early in the morning, while during the day he always feels tired.

Fortunately the food rations were now given at night, so maybe he could keep the rest of his food, but keep the steam, how?

The alarm went off suddenly. Hazel straightened her body, she stiffened instantly. The door in front of him tried to open violently. Two officers inside stand by with his flazz. Hazel is not sure who is behind the door, either friend or foe, which is clear she wants Hazel to be free and get out of this place.

Two officers who were ready with flazz attacked. Hamish managed to dodge and brushed it off. He hit the officer on the back with his elbow. The other attacked from behind, but Hamish attacked first with a kick to his left foot that hit the officer's face.

The officer collapsed on the floor, Hazel looked at Hamish with a look of admiration. Even he hasn't been able to kick perfectly like Hamish.

"Wow, where did you learn that? As long as I'm not around you learn to fight with your bare hands?" said Hazel suddenly who was still in a bound state.

“Only beginner luck,” said Hamish. Hamish realizes that Hazel is bound, then unlocks her hand and they leave the room.

The alarm was still heard and the leg jolt was starting to sound closer. "Josh where? Are you alone?" Hazel equalled Hamish's run.

"Of course not. Without Josh's help you can't get out. He's the one who hacked into his defense system. He's pulling outside" Hamish explained. His breathing is irregular.

The sound of footsteps, again and again. After the incident at Hazel's father's house, Hamish has learned from the panic. That panic doesn't solve the problem, only luck can help you when you panic. While there's no way every time you panic you'll be lucky.

They were now in the middle of the hallway.  Hamish ran up the stairs to their right, but the uniformed officers, complete with flazz, filled the stairs.

To their left the officers were also in the hallway.

"I think there's only one way to get out." Hamish stood next to Hazel.

"We fight them." Hazel added.

It wasn't until a minute this narrow hallway was filled with officers with his flazz.

"On the count of three!”

"Three!" hazel and Hamish said at the same time.

Hazel ran to the right and Hamish to the opposite direction. A dozen officers might even attack them more simultaneously. Hazel punches one of the officers in front of her. Hamish ran up to the wall and he bounced off. He clenched his hands as he landed on the floor. One man fell down and made his flazz hit one of the officers and collapsed on the floor.

Hazel's rolling another officer. Hazel clenched her hand and prepared to lift it. But the officer ducked and managed to dodge, but a heavy blow hit one of the other officers. Suddenly Hazel fell on the floor, her body collapsed and unable to support her body.

Hamish who was still fighting and saw Hazel sprawled made a grip on one of the officers he was pinning slack. The officer looks for an opportunity by electing his flazz to Hamish.

At that time Hamish also sprawled, but he could still see Hazel who was also in pain due to the stun flazz. His vision began to blur and his body began to feel something was creeping into his brain and making everything he thought of feel blurred. Until his sight was dark for a moment.
