The Versatile

The Versatile
Chapter 13

The sun made the woman's eyes narrow, her skin was brownish, not because she was of Mexican descent, but her brown skin she got because she lingered in the sun.  The other was a girl who had snow-white skin. They look just like the younger one.

“How? The plan is going perfectly, isn't it?” said the woman in her haughty tone.

“Yes, but I guess you didn't take this one into account?” tease the girl.

The woman was wagging her hair that was like autumn, very opposite to the other girl, she was like freshly falling snow.

“Of course I thought about it, that's why I called you! We'll find the device before he does. Besides your age's access is more sophisticated, he won't be able to go anywhere, we will know his position.”

“As of you. But obviously now he's with someone I like and I don't want him to know too much about himself. So, before he knows I'll find out first.”

“Asper you! I just want to find this tool!” said the woman.

“But it would be easier if he was on our side!” deny the girl.

Again the woman wagged her hair that was like autumn. “I also have a sister who is not on my side! and he's better than your friend!”

“At least we have friends we can count on. He's also great like your brother. At least comparable.”

“Yes, I'm sure my offer will be very tempting.”

The girl just silently listened to the woman speak. He hasn't even stopped talking since the girl started. The girl is not the type who likes to talk a lot or be spoken to. He'll only talk if he thinks it's important.

After meeting the woman, the girl begins to discover her true identity. He never dared to express his feelings. He would rather stare at someone he likes from afar than approach her and talk to her.

Now this girl is more open to telling stories. Yet this woman had turned this quiet girl, into an evil girl. Although in fact none of the evil aura found from this girl.

However, the events of the past few days have made her a heartless girl who is being tooled like a robot. He will do anything for his master who desires the power of the world.

Spencer has been making breakfast since this morning, and Hazel hasn't even woken up from a good night's sleep. Josh was watching television, and there was news about last night.

“Hazel, wake! What time is it now? We have a lot of work to do, ” cried Spencer from outside Hazel's room. But there is no answer. Spencer begins to grow angry, finally he opens the door to his room and gets Hazel who is sitting pensively. “ Hazel? What's up?”

“I can't get out, remember? All doors open automatically if you have ID.”

“But you have ID!” refute Spencer.

Suddenly Josh came in in a hurry. “You saw the news this morning? shit, my ID can't be used now, I've been hunted. My ID is blocked.”

“Yes, as well as Hazel.”

“Really?” ask Josh. He looks at Hazel's wrist, her ID is no longer on. “Calm down, I can fix it. Remember when my dad gave you a spare bracelet? I brought him some. But it won't last long, I'll make a new one. Is there a computer?”

“Ya, there is in the workspace of the owner of this house. very complete.”

“Good. Here, wear this first.” Josh gives Hazel his spare bracelet. “You know what good it is if you wear a spare bracelet?”

“No.” Hazel shakes.

“You can do anything for free. Come on, show me where the workspace is.” Josh came out of the room, then Spencer.

Hazel sat there, but then she followed them. But not to the workspace. The goal was the dining table, his stomach was already unable to contain his hunger. He doesn't remember the last time he ate, as he remembers in prison he was only given instant food that you didn't have to chew and you'll be full. At least that was his last meal. I don't know where Spencer got this bread, complete with milk.

The first bite of Hazel felt a great pleasure, until the last piece and it felt like she wanted to devour two or three more pieces of bread. After that she finished her milk with just one sip, she was really hungry.

“Hazel this is your ID, I have made,” said Josh who had been out since when he was there. Spencer was beside her.

“So Spencer, how did you get into this house? and how did you get here?” ask Hazel Spencer.

“Easy, I managed to find your father's new discovery tool. It turns out your father has a special room in his study. And here I am, but I think someone else wants something that your father is hiding. And this man is from our time also Hazel.”

The air felt so cold all of a sudden, Hazel could feel it as well as Josh and Spencer. “You feel it?” hazel asked the two of them.

“Yes, in this age we can control the weather, more precisely we like to make a shield above us and the water flowing from the rain is channeled through the shelter. When we need rain, we will make it. So does the snow, but we don't contain it, because the snow will melt if we are accommodated. We tried to melt it and accommodated in water reservoir.” Josh was sitting on the couch, he was stretching his body.

“So no extreme weather?” ask Spencer, who seems to be understanding Josh's words.

“Wait! Does this have anything to do with the story of the next hundred years that the earth will experience drought? Therefore in this age you hold water so that there is no drought?” hazel asked, but Josh just nodded.

Now that Hazel's face has changed, she looks impressed. But besides that there were words that he did not understand. Now that Hazel is following Josh, she's sitting right next to him. Spencer who was still standing, went straight from there. I don't know what he's thinking, now he's headed for the kitchen.

Hazel can't lie to her heart, she has Spencer. But what power, he already has a wife. At least that's what he knew a few days ago. What kind of girl Hazel is taking people's husbands. Hazel leaned her head against Josh and Josh greeted her. From the kitchen Spencer saw the closeness of Josh and Hazel, there was a sense of dislike he described from his gaze.

“I want to go to the room, if you need me, I'm in the room,” the tone sounds annoyed.

Hazel got up from her seat. “I want to go to my father's office.” He walked without looking at Josh.

Ancient architectural style doors adorned the doors of his father's workspace. Even Hazel never knew her father liked that kind of art. Medieval painting hangs there. The table is made of iron, as well as the chair, only there are pads to sit on.

He switched to the other side, there was an iron box near the table. At first Hazel thought it was a place to eat, only slightly larger in size. But as Hazel approached her there were numbers engraved around the box, which she saw were the numbers seven, eight, and four, one, and five.

Hazel lifted the box, but it didn't lift. The box is like glued with super strong glue. For the second time Hazel tried and the box was not lifted. Finally Hazel gave up, she sat in her father's seat. At home, he never entered his father's office. His father did not allow Hazel to enter, nor did his mother. The door is always locked if the father leaves.

Now Hazel thinks of her father, many sweet memories she remembers with her father, but it is not enough for her not to miss him. Her tears started to flow, she missed her father. Even if he is not around for a few days. But his longing was no longer held back, he remembered the first time he bought a bicycle.

Hazel tried to ride it herself and after that she fell down a corner near the house. Then when his father looked for him, Hazel was playing in his new neighbor's house. Now given his seventeen years old, his father could not see him enter university.

Hazel could not hold back her tears that were now soaking her clothes. He had never felt lost before, let alone his father who was very close to him. She also had a loving mother, she would never leave him again after this.

Hazel promises her father to look after her mother anytime and anywhere. Although he is not the boy his father wanted, but with his strength he will take care of his mother and make her happy.

When Hazel heard the door open, she quickly wiped away her tears. Spencer stood there, still holding his knob, and then he closed the door and approached Hazel.

Hazel feels nervousness mixed with fear, the last time she was alone with Spencer, is when he was late to make her angry. And then she approached Hazel, even so close that she made her heart explode. But unlike the current one, Hazel is not late and makes Spencer angry.

Hazel looked at Spencer quickly. As Spencer looked back at her, Hazel turned. All was silent, so was Spencer who was still standing and folding his hands on his chest.

“So what's up?” hazel finally spoke.

“No, I just missed you. I want to see the face of the annoying girl who made me here.” He smiled a little.

“So, because I'm you here?” ask Hazel again.

Spencer approached Hazel, but this time to sit in a small chair belonging to his father. “Not really, I want to help you and complete this task.”

Suddenly the door opened, Josh's face turned pale. “They found us. We have to get out of here!”

“Why can they know we're here?” ask Hazel to panic.

“Entailah, but I think everything here is too flashy. And with our presence, maybe this is the only place we can hide. You recall? This house has been uninhabited for a long time because no one can open it. They think this all has to do with us.”

“Well pack up soon, there's a car lined up. We're going somewhere safe. Maybe out of the border,” Spencer said.

“No! We have to walk. All cars can only be used manually if the ID is correct.”

“Then be Fast!” Spencer hurriedly wandered out of the room followed by Josh. Hazel was still there, she was still thinking what this box was for. Does his father have a way out of this room. Hazel kept turning her brain and looked at the box. When he saw it clearly, the box had another piece. That is, the middle of the box is separated from the sides of the edges.

Hazel groped the box, right in the middle. Like a button, Hazel pressed it down and then slowly. The painting turned around, then the floor below it opened. Hazel was stunned for a while. Then the edge of the box opened, Hazel approached the box. There was a small piece of paper folded.

Josh opened the door, and he suddenly wanted to say something, but was restrained when he saw the floor under Hazel open. Spencer also came in and he was silent for a moment.

“Hazel, I think your father has a private basement,” Spencer said a few seconds later.

Spencer went down first, then Hazel was Josh. Hazel remembers she was still holding the paper she took from the box. He kept it nailed to his pants, he just kept it to himself.

Spencer leads the way, Hazel will just step on the ground, then the floor rings and the door above her closes. All the lights were on, her father had prepared her, Hazel thought. The passageway looked quiet, there was only an iron-plated passageway. They were all silent in place, the voice of a woman could be heard from the microphone.
