Vampire In The City

Vampire In The City
Interested in Vampires?

ahem, Seokjin's appearance as a lecturer 🥴

🎃🎃

Seokjin raises her glasses while reading tome, today's course material. One of his students was preparing a projector for Seokjin to teach. He ignored the whispers of some female students that his vampire ears could hear. As if he couldn't hear them, oh God.

“He was handsome once...” whispered a woman sitting at the end of the classroom, could be heard clearly by the vampire lord.

“This will forever be my favorite matkul.”

“I want to make a good impression..how know he will glance at me.”.

Seokjin snorted softly while holding back a smile. Pretty interesting conversation.

“Did she have a boyfriend?”

“Please hope he's still single.”

“You dare ask her out?”

“Cih, I will melt my pride to ask her out.”

“I was too. He's very handsome...world wide handsome.”

“How about we call it world wide handsome only? As the initials in our chat this.”

“Hihihi..my heart is pounding. Uh, he looked at me....!!”

Seokjin tried not to laugh. The chatter of these humans nearly dissipated his concentration. Previously Seokjin worked as a businessman, feeling back to being a teacher made him excited. What would happen if people knew they were vampires?

“We will start the course today.. Joseon Dynasty..” Seokjin directs his pointer to the projector and begins to display the material he prepared to teach. While saying such words, Seokjin's eyes were directed at a woman sitting somewhat behind, her face looking so cold and looking at the book a little dreamy.

Seokjin felt something as she looked at the student. He met her a few years ago. Meeting again in a class like this impressed Seokjin. Seokjin smiled inwardly, perhaps she should interact with the woman, leaving her curiosity to be answered.

“Miss over there..” said Seokjin suddenly.

Soojung, who has been daydreaming since, raised his head. Some of the students sitting in front of him turned their heads towards him. Soojung's eyes widened, he returned the lecturer's gaze, pointing at himself with his own index finger.

Seokjin mumbled a smile, “Iya, right, Miss who pointed to herself.”

Soojung gulps. He stood clumsy while waiting for what his lecturer asked. For God's sake, the new lecturer taught 5 minutes and Soojung was asked questions as he daydreamed?

“What do you think about the background of the 1636 attack that almost invaded the Korean Peninsula?” That's the question Seokjin asked. Actually it was an easy question because Seokjin had just explained it if Soojung had listened.

“Ng...” Soojung does not seem to know the answer. He also just replied. “A massive vampire attack that occurred in the world at the time affected Korea.?”.

Some students laughed at Soojung's reply. They don't think Soojung even associated him with vampires. If Soojung doesn't know the answer, there's no need to connect her to a vampire because it will make her look even more stupid. That's what other students think.

Instead of being angry, Seokjin gave a gentle smile. Around the 1600s there was a massive war between vampires and humans. Seokjin didn't know what it was like because he wasn't alive at the time, but he had heard this story from the old vampires. At that time vampires were still openly attacking and sucking human blood. There is no peace between the two sides.

“A unique look, Miss... umm, what's your name?” ask Seokjin.

“Soojung...” said the woman was still with a cold gaze.

“Miss Soojung..” Seokjin's smile grows longer when she mentions that name, he said, “The Qing invasion of Joseon took place in the winter of 1636 with the aim of severing Joseon's relations with the Ming Dynasty and establishing Qing status as a center in the Imperial Chinese tribute system.”

Seoojung was amazed to hear the lecturer's speech. The sentence smoothly came out of Seokjin's mouth, inexplicably making Soojung suddenly goosebumps.

“I hope your interest in vampires doesn't make you ignore this course,” continued Seokjin, “Even though I honestly said I was interested in what you said, Miss Soojung.”

Some students laughed again. Soojung gave her a smile and finally sat down after Seokjin gave her a sign. For the first time Soojung felt very embarrassed in front of a lecturer. He blames himself who is so stupid to say weightless sentences. A vampire? Aishh, his friends will not forget this incident just like that.

The class is finished and the class is dissolved. Seokjin tries to ignore the voices she hears from some girls. They planned to wait outside to finally get Seokjin to talk and ask her out.

Seokjin tilted her head when she heard it. Well, he wasn't sure that he would approve the invitation.

Seokjin's eyes looked towards Soojung who was still clearing her book slowly. The woman appeared to be very disinterested as other students scattering out for lunch. And it seems that Soojung doesn't mind when no one invites her.

Seokjin finally chose to take this opportunity. He came to Soojung who was inserting her stationery. Seokjin can see there is another book lying on the table, the title is “Vampire in the Past.”

Seokjin raised his eyebrows. “I think your answer was influenced by the book you read, Miss Soojung?”

Soojung is very surprised, not realizing that Seokjin came to him. Hell, Seokjin did not even make a sound as she walked towards him.

“Sorry, Seongsaenim..” Soojung will already take his book out of embarrassment but Seokjin's hands are too fast and take the book first.

Seokjin's face looked flat as she looked through the contents of the book. “It's a mouthpiece, you know it.”

“Not...” Seokjin gives a carefree smile, “But the story written in the book was.”

Seokjin of course knew that Paja Tomic, the German Vampire Wollschlager, the Vampire Castle Anantis or any other story in the book did not prove to be real. It's just a fabricated essay about the surrounding community about vampires.

Soojung furrowed her brows and Seokjin's smile grew longer. “You can believe vampires exist until now but the story in the book is only incendiary, not real.” continued Seokjin.

“What as a History lecturer, Mr. Kim knows better than what this book is about?”

Seokjin laughed softly because Soojung seemed to challenge her so. “Well…. Maybe?”

“At least the story about Johannes Cuntinus is definitely real.”

Seokjin gives smirk. “Johannes Cuntinus is not a vampire. He became ill from being attacked by wild animals. And he did not turn into a ghost after he died.”

Soojung's eyes were puffed up, surprised that Seokjin even revealed everything. It is clear Seokjin know the history and facts that happened until he could know the details of the story of Johannes Cuntinus.

“You seem very interested in vampires?”

Soojung tries to control herself. He returned to finish the rest of the book. “Not really. I just hate vampires.”

Seokjin smiled faintly. He was eager to say if Soojung still remembered their first meeting a few years ago. It was not a meeting worth remembering actually.

Seokjin lamented that his people were hated that way.maybe for some reason. In this day and age, many vampires choose peace, not attack humans. Choose to survive and mingle with the normal with the humans.

Like what he's doing.

He also knew the moments experienced Taehyung must be very heavy, especially Taehyung is still a baby vampire. It is heavy for him to blend in with humans especially if the human views vampires as monsters.

Namjoon must continue to increase his patience, seeing people call vampires as if they are something that does not deserve to live.

“I hope in the next meeting you can answer my question, Miss Soojung.” Seokjin said before Soojung turned around.

Soojung just nodded his head. “I'm sorry, Mr. Kim.”

Seokjin still looked at the woman who walked away to the classroom door. Soojung's fragrance is still the same as Seokjin's first time seeing it. Every human being has a smell that vampires can smell. And Seokjin couldn't dodge, it was the smell she liked.

Soojung walks towards the campus park without caring around. He was still thinking about his conversation with Seokjin. He wondered, was his lecturer also interested in many things about vampires? If so, Soojung wants to also ask things that make her curious especially Seokjin is a History lecturer.

Soojung dismissed her thoughts. He looked ahead and saw Kai and his friends sitting on the park bench.

“Hei, Baby~~” greet Kai as his eyes catch the figure of Soojung walking towards him.

Soojung gave a smile and took a seat next to her lover.

Kai hugs Soojung's shoulder. “Later tonight can join a party at my house?”

Soojung shook his head short. He pulled out the vampire book from his bag, already impatient to continue reading his favorite book. “I have to be home because Uncle is going out of town.”

“Come, Baby..Jungkook is big, he can be alone at home.”.

Soojung's cynical eyes looked at Kai. “I would never do it. How can I party while Jungkook is alone?”

Kai snorted softly but would not argue. Soojung is very difficult to be invited out at night, sometimes making Kai upset.

“Read that book again?”

Soojung just muttered softly and started reading the book “Vampire in Past”.

Kai rolled his eyes, saturated. Kai's friends give a grin because Kai is ignored again for the sake of a vampire book. Kai desperately wants to burn the book that he considers to be a mere fairy tale. He himself could not understand why a beautiful woman like Soojung had deep thoughts about vampires.

Namjoon was only chin-backed, staring at the interest of the lecturer who was teaching calculus. Not meant to be arrogant, Namjoon has attended this course dozens of times. He had already mastered it greatly and was confident of his score of A during the exam. Namjoon is confident even himself ‘more experienced’ than the lecturer who is explaining the calculus.

Phew, the world of lectures has always been his favorite compared to if he was told to work like Seokjin. But listening to the same exposure over and over again is a little boring. He also wanted something new.

Namjoon glanced to the side, looking at a student sitting next to him. Namjoon did not pay much attention before, but it turns out that the knickknacks owned by humans are all vampires.

The pencil case is a vampire even though it's a cartoon. The cover of the journal was filled with vampire stickers, so the pen he was holding there was a vampire face decoration. Humans still believe that vampires fanged (that's right), and their eyes were bright red, and with the black-red robes they wore.

Namjoon smirked, impressed. Real vampires don't wear such eccentric robes, much less Namjoon appreciates fashion. And vampires can already hide their fangs and eye color.

Namjoon saw the name sticker attached to the student's book: “Jung Hoseok”, it says. Looks like this student named Jung Hoseok is a vampire lover? Rarely did Namjoon find humans interested in vampires on the positive side.
