Vampire In The City

Seokjin walked that afternoon out of his office. The teaching hours are over, it feels like coming home soon. His eyes always itchy if lingering wearing contact lenses, want it to free his vampire eyes. Seokjin wondered if Taehyung had gone home, if not they could go home together.

Seokjin pulled out her phone and typed in a message for Taehyung. While typing like that his eyes were accidentally fixed to the grassy field that this campus has. Some humans are practicing archery.

The vampire did not send a message to Taehyung because his mind had been diverted. He gulped when he saw people were honing their skills in bow archery. As if there was a suggestion, his heart ached at the thought of the arrow thrust directly into his heart. It used to be that he saw with his own eyes how a dead vampire was killed with an arrow pierced by a hunter. Arrows are what makes vampires so anxious.

Seokjin saw that one of the people who was training was Soojung. Seokjin's vampire eyes allowed her to see clearly even from this far distance.

Finally Seokjin stood on the sidelines watching what they were doing. Soojung stood with his body upright, right hand holding the string, left hand holding the bow. The woman's eyes sharply looked at the target in front of her which was 18 meters away.

Seokjin looked at Soojung, seems like her student is quite talented at archery? Things Seokjin never expected before. Didn't Soojung practice archery to aim at the vampire heart?

Soojung's eyes focused more and more on the target, pulling the string until it touched his nose, holding for a while while thinking about what his position was good enough. Soojung transfers energy from the arm muscles to the strings and he takes off his bow. The hair fluttered slightly as the bow darted rapidly towards the face of the shot.

Seokjin saw how the bow hit the target, not right in the center but still in the gold area (the second layer circle from the middle). Its value is 8.5 on a 10 scale, already very good for young women like Soojung.

Soojung was still flat-faced when she saw the results she had obtained. Coach commented that Soojung is getting better. But Soojung is not a satisfied person. He imagined the center of the shot was the heart of a vampire and he should be able to hit it properly. Soojung occasionally takes aim right at the flashlight but not often.

Seokjin put two hands into her pants pocket, looked at the speechless Soojung and refocused her bow and archery. Seokjin thought that the woman had a strong desire for archery. And it looks like Soojung could sooner or later become a professional archer. You know, that hunter-gatherers used to attack vampires with silver bows. In modern times they have used silver bullet rifles, but that does not mean that archery is no longer used.

Seokjin knows that Soojung's attraction to vampires is not an attraction from the positive side, rather the opposite.

Yoon-gi bit her lip, held a smile at dinner tonight. Taehyung's mood seems very good. He ate neither loyo nor snatch. Yoongi and Namjoon exchanged glances, holding back a laugh.

“What was your day fun, Taetae?” ask Namjoon.

Taehyung raised his face. It has been 3 days he went through college and he feels quite better than when he was a student. Although he could not be too familiar with humans, but at least he could talk to one of his classmates.

“I think you already have chingu?” ask Yoongi. Seokjin smiled at Taehyung.

“There has been 1 person...” said Taehyung a little proud, “We exchanged mobile numbers.”

“It was so cool...” said Namjoon again, his beautiful dimples were visible.

Taehyung just smiled. He promised not to waste his first friend. He will try to be a pleasant friend and ready to help.

Technically Taehyung just followed where Jungkook was during the lecture, only Jungkook did not mind, even though they did not talk much. But following wherever Jungkook went made Taehyung avoid bullying. Perhaps Jeon Jungkook's aura made people dare not do bullying.

“You should have given your friend your precious toy, Tae..” Yoon-gi's tease.

Taehyung's eyes immediately sparkled. Ah right too. And maybe who knows through it he can also get closer to his human friend.

“The world of lectures is more fun right?” ask Seokjin.

Taehyung nodded innocently. He has no regrets about moving to Seoul and he hopes he can stay in the city for a long time, making even more friends.

That night, Taehyung dwells in his room, taking out his precious collection of digimon cards. He cradles to bring which tomorrow he will show Jungkook. He hoped his friend could be impressed and they could share each other's favorite items.

Namjoon is focusing on completing the report on the laptop. His fingers nimbly typed on the keyboard, smoothly typing scientific sentences. For him, this kind of task is easy. His brain could quickly think of a scientific framework.

Namjoon is too engrossed in his work, unaware that his classmates have been watching him since. Until he heard the student muttering softly, “Chogiyo..” (meaning excuse me).

Namjoon turned his head and looked at Hoseok who was talking to him. “Ye?”

Hoseok was still looking at Namjoon, as if he was inspecting him. His eyes looked at Namjoon from top to bottom, looking up at his nose and into Namjoon's chest.

Feeling uneasy continued to be noticed, finally Namjoon spoke again, “Wae?”

Hoseok gulped. “You don't breathe?”

Namjoon's eyes grew. Damn, he forgot to breathe like a human so much he was too focused on the task. This man beside him might notice his chest that was not going up and down like a human in general.

Namjoon pretended to breathe. He laughed discordantly. “Ha ha ha.. of course I breathe.” Namjoon hoped his words were convincing enough.

Hoseok frowned and looked back at Namjoon's chest which was now up and down, breathing, and presumably too exaggerated.

“O-oh..”.

Namjoon laughed, more discordant. “Ha ha where may I not breathe. I was pretty good at breathing very slowly. I can also hold my breath in water long enough.”

“Mu-maybe I saw wrong.”

“Oh of course you saw it wrong. If I don't breathe, do I die? Ha ha.”

“Vampire does not breathe.” whispered Hoseok as if what he said was a big secret.

Namjoon was astonished, how did he know that vampires do not breathe? Looks like Hoseok found out a lot about vampires. Namjoon had to be careful especially when Hoseok was beside him.

“Ah watch? Vampires don't breathe? But vampires have noses, right?” Namjoon attempts to divert that fact and confound the knowledge Hoseok has of vampires.

“They pretend to breathe,” whispered Hoseok more slowly. If Namjoon's ears weren't vampire ears maybe Namjoon wouldn't be able to hear them. “Vampire pretends to breathe so as not to get caught while undercover.”

“Oh yes? Where do you know?”

“I did a lot to find out, international journal about vampires I read.”

“I don't think it's all proven yet?”

“Maybe. But I really want to be able to find vampire.”

Namjoon gulped. Shit, that vampire is in front of Hoseok now.

“Mi-Mian, I'm bothering you who's doing the job. You can continue it again.” Hoseok turned his face and refocused himself on his laptop.

Namjoon should be extra careful from now on. Hoseok's interest in vampires seems to be at a fairly high level. Moreover, the student seemed to be able to distinguish well which vampire facts are real and which ones are hoaxes.

Taehyung returns with Jungkook today, or specifically, Taehyung follows wherever Jungkook goes.

As they are currently in the cafeteria, they have finished their lunch and are waiting for the next course which is still half an hour away. Taehyung was quite satisfied because he and Jungkook were a group in the previous course. In his previous school, Taehyung was always a leftover student who had no group friends, because no one wanted a group with him. He is considered strange because of his appearance and also sometimes his way of speaking.

Taehyung smiled and took something from his bag. Maybe it's time for her to share her favorite collection, who knows Jungkook will be interested.

“Actually...” Taehyung said starting the conversation. He held a stack of digimon cartons in his hand.

Jungkook, who had been daydreaming, turned to Taehyung. All this time he did not mind Taehyung following him as long as the strange student did not disturb or disturb his life, after all with this Taehyung avoided bullying. Jungkook is very unhappy with the superior community system vs. the unsuperior society. Everyone has the same right to live life.

“I collected this digimon card..” Taehyung continued and showed his cards, “What do you think, Chingu?”

Jungkook looked at Taehyung flatly. It turns out that in addition to Taehyung looking old fashion, the collection is the same. In this era, no students are still collecting digimon cards. Ugh. Jungkook doesn't know how Taehyung can still keep it.

Taehyung shows his cards while saying that he has collected them for a long time and some are his hyung collection that is given to Taehyung.

“This is my favorite number two..” Taehyung said while showing War Greymon card. Jungkook wonders if Taehyung does have a habit of sequencing everything around him. Hyung 1, Hyung 2, Chingu 1 and now favorite 2.

“I'll give it to you.” Taehyung said with a big smile and placed it in front of Jungkook.

Jungkook was a little gaping, dumbfounded. He's not even interested in digimon. But the person before him gave away one of his best collections?

“For what?” ask Jungkook.

“I told you when people exchange collections or favorite items it makes it closer and there is a sense of trust.”

Again, Jungkook was dumbfounded. Is that so? He just heard it, but if it is digested it has a point.

Taehyung was still smiling, waiting for Jungkook to receive the card. Jungkook looked at the other cards in Taehyung's hand. Out of nowhere, Jungkook points to another card in Taehyung's hand, a vampire card that is quite striking, in contrast to other cards that are digimon.

“If you want to give me your collection, I want that vampire card.” Jungkook said straightforwardly.

Taehyung's eyes are breaking. He saw what Jungkook pointed to. This vampire card was his favorite and the only one he had, a limited edition.

“Vampire Curse...” muttered Jungkook read the inscription on the card, “I want that card.”

“This is my first favorite.!!”

Well, Jungkook didn't expect it, but he won't back down from his words either.

“I think you want to give away your favorite item–“

“Alright..” cut Taehyung. He whipped his lips dramatically and finally slowly thrust the card at Jungkook.

Jungkook wants to laugh. “If you are not sincere, you should–“

“Anniya. I'm.I'm sincere, Jeon Jungkook Chingu.”

Jungkook laughed softly. “Jinjja?”

Taehyung turned his lips. “Originally you promised to keep the card well. Can't be scuffed.”

“No problem.” Jungkook took out his binder. He put the card in a binder bag.

“Do not fold until folded. Don't get wet.”

Jungkook folded his hands in front of his chest, staring at Taehyung with a nagging expression. “You're serious about giving it or not? Are you just dropping it on me?”

“A-anni.. I only give advice.”.

Jungkook laughed in his heart. “Enough with a chat about this card, we should also talk about the task of Organic Chemistry courses.”

“Uh, oh.. okay..” Taehyung is a little lethargic to hear it. He's not smart enough in this department, for some reason Seokjin chose him for chemistry. Taehyung reinserted his digimon card.
