The next day we arrived early in the morning. There were many children gathered at the training ground in front of the Academy waiting for the memorial of the ceremony. After half an hour, when all the students were present, the ceremony began.
It was a boring event and I felt like going to bed when instructors Jounin and Chunnin gave their speeches.
"Now, it's time to end the ceremony."
I opened my eyes as I yawned as the announcer announced this news.
"But before that, our Honored Hokage-Sama will give a speech to the future ninja of Konoha."
The surrounding people clapped and cheered as Hiruzen staggered onto the stage.
'So, that would be the usual fire will nonsense! to raise up young people to give their lives for the sake of the village. Like, come on, almost 50% of the population is Ninjas in the village and the rest are civilians and what he means is risking the lives of half of the Konoha residents to save the lives of the remaining 50% of a population that can't take care of themselves. From what I have seen in these five years, the average store owner produces more than one genin per month and some popular stores even produce as much as Jounin. Where Jounin had to risk his life to do some A-rank missions to earn money and a portion of the money provided by the mission would be taken by the Hokage's office as maintenance fees and the remaining half would be split the average among them. Team members depends on their Ninja rank.'
Hokage continued to ramble as I tried to figure out the reality of the situation.
'Also, if the ninja is from a clan, he will have to pay some mission money to his clan to fund the clan. After all these deductions, all that was left was a small amount of money. If I open a weapons store and start selling some ninja tools, I wonder how much money I will make. Then my story was 'born Business Mogul in the Ninja World'. Until now, I have never heard of any Ninja who became very rich by doing missions. To be honest, anyone be it chunnin or jounin cannot complete missions endlessly. I observed my father in the previous four years and came to a conclusion.'
Each jounin can only choose B-rank missions or higher unless he or she is a genin instructor. C and D rank missions are reserved for Chunnin and genin. The average B-rank mission usually takes a week to complete and the ninja needs to relax for a minimum of three days to recover from fatigue. The B-rank mission payout is 150,000 Ryo to 200,000 Ryo. After all those cuts amounted to an average of 100,000 Ryo if the person was alone in the mission. For A-rank missions, the payout ranges from 150,000 Ryo to 1,000,000 Ryo. No jounin can do a solo on such a mission and needs an assistant from at least another Jounin to complete the mission safely. Missions usually last between one week to one month. Also, ninjas need a break of at least two weeks to recover from the mission. It would take much longer if the ninja were seriously injured. The payout for a ninja would be about an average of 400,000 considering the highest payout of 1,000,000.
Now let's talk about the S-rank mission. It takes a minimum group of three skilled Jounins and the number can be up to seven members. The minimum payment for the mission is 1,000,000 Ryo. And the upper limit will be decided by the Hokage's office depending on the severity of the mission. No ninja would willingly take on an S-rank mission unless specifically requested by the Hokage's office. After my biological father rejected all the S-rank missions given to him. If I estimate then the average payout of an S-rank is 600,000 Ryo considering the amount is divided among others.
Okay fine! That may sound like a lot, but there is a catch. We have not covered the cost of the mission. Secret weapons and kunai are made of metal, so they are expensive to buy. A set of 6 kunai and shuriken cost 10,000 Ryo and this set survives for 3 B-rank missions, one A-rank mission while for S-rank consider bringing another set with you. Secret weapons and kunai will usually be lost, scratched, or have to be left behind while escaping an ambush. Other expenses include drugs that are not injured during missions and most teams do not carry medical ninjas. Chakra pills and recovery medicines are very expensive because of the rare herbs used to make them. A bottle of 10 Chakra pills cost 50,000 Ryo and the medicinal liquid and gel cost around 10,000 Ryo. Also included are an average hospital fee of 10,000 Ryo for the B-rank, 50,000 for the A-Rank, and a minimum of 70,000 from the S-rank. I can hardly believe if someone says someone came out unscathed for an S-rank mission. Such a person would easily be near the Kage level and could easily move a group of Jounin.
When I discovered such a thing, I began to question the sanity of people and laugh at myself as I would soon join the madness. I'm pretty sure the higher-ups of the Various Clans are aware of this but they chose to keep their mouths shut because they need to defend the clan. Also, if everyone just sat at home and opened one or two shops, then they would be a degeneration that required childcare like civilians and thus would lower the strength of the Clan. Only the disabled and the elderly were allowed to open a shop in any clan complex, this was a rule enforced by the Clan.
The Hokage's speech ended when we were disbanded to our respective classes. I walked over to the notice board and checked my class number. My class is at 1-B while Shisui's class is at 1-C. The class selection was done randomly and there were no classes filled by geniuses.
“That's a shame, nii-san! Our classes are different, I won't be able to stay with you.” Shissui complained.
I searched my class and found it after fumbling around for a while. I entered the classroom and sat on the edge of the classroom close to the window.
There is a podium in front of the chalkboard and the tables are arranged in a staircase which adds to the height of the last row and thus makes the face of each student visible to the Instructor. Students continue to enter the class and the class is almost full. There was no sign of the instructor anywhere. My good looks made me like a lot of girls because they kept bothering me about my name and hobbies.
Many boys are jealous, but I am upset by this constant distraction. I answered some girls during the beginning, but after that, I stopped bothering them when I looked out my window.
Some civilian children were envious of me and thought to teach me a lesson when they approached me. One of them put his foot on my desk as he barked,
"Hi! You stupid thorn! get out of this chair. Me and my friends will sit here.”
To be honest, I was quite surprised by this development because I was thinking,
'Hey buddy! I've never cared about you, why do you want to make my life miserable?'
I ignored them as I continued to stare out the window. All the nearby civilian children anticipated the fight as they muttered amongst themselves.
“The child will be beaten and taught a lesson. Who told him to impress so many girls.?”
'Fucking nani! How I offended you all. I'm not interested in this little loli. Honestly, aren't you too young to think about such things? In my previous world because of modernization this can be considered ordinary, but here it looks strange. But I can guess the feelings of these sheltered children. Also, do you all really believe that they will shower me.'
I looked around to see the reactions of the children from the clan. Most of them were lazing and muttering amongst themselves. They were honestly not bothered by this show. I guess everyone here is the protagonist and I am the chosen horde.
'Why are you doing this to me? Now I have to bully you all. I guess I'll do a full hentai on all of you and release the tentacle monsters on you. Will it ruin their minds? Who cares, I'm not a soft persimmon. This will be a lesson for them.'
'These children are too full of themselves. I remember from the anime they surrounded Itachi's clone to teach him a lesson, but he kicked their asses. Also, civilian children often besieged and hit Naruto. I guess, I'll teach them what their parents can't do.'
