Inside a private room next to the Hokage's office,

Hiruzen sat down with his former team members, Danzo, Homura, and Koharu. A scroll was located on the table in front of them as Hiruzen opened the scroll and read the contents aloud.

“Iwagakure has agreed to our request about the Peace agreement. The war has officially ended on the battlefield of Iwagakure.”

"It's done well!" Homura praised Hiruzen.

“We can breathe a sigh of relief for a while.” Koharu also agreed with the prospect.

Danzo interrupted the conversation as she spoke to them,

“Are you satisfied with a deal like this? We have lost most of our strength in the war to achieve nothing.”

“Continuing the war further would be disastrous for the already exhausted Hidden Leaves. This is a step towards finding common ground. Also, we have not dealt with Kumogakure and this truce by Iwagakure will save our troops to fight the Hidden Cloud.”

Hiruzen presented his opinion as he sparred with Danzo. Danzo slams her hands on the table as she questions Hiruzen,

“How will you be responsible for this? Your incompetence makes Konoha suffer a great loss. You need to give the appropriate answer to mass.”

“I intend to retreat as the Third Hokage and install the Fourth Hokage, Hiruzen” answers Danzo's question as he looks out the window at Hashirama and Tobirama's face sculptures.

'Sensei, it is time for me to pass down the Will of Fire to the next generation. I hope Konoha will continue to prosper under the next Hokage administration. It's time for me to retire.'

Hiruzen sighed as he walked out of the living room. He entered the Hokage's office as he beckoned to one of the Anbu, who was,

“Deliver this message to Shikaku,

'Iwagakure has agreed to a peace treaty. Ask our troops to withdraw from Iwa Battlefront and provide assistance at Kumo Battlefront. It's time for us to end this battle.'

Also, tell Minato Namikaze to see me as soon as possible.”

The Anbu members blinked to tell Shikaku.

Inside the basement, though,

Danzo sat in her chair as she spoke,

"My time has come. I can finally rule the village. That Hiruzen had demeaned the Village after taking the position of Hokage. Tobirama-sensei was supposed to nominate me as Hokage.

I will choose Orochimaru for the position and through Orochimaru, he said, I can control the leaves of the Shadows and bring Konoha to a better future where Konoha is the only strongest force in the Shinobi World.

I have control over Orochimaru because I know about all his secrets. Kinoe...Kinoe..”.

An anbu with a cat mask covered in green, and an elaborate red mark appeared in front of Danzo. The Anbu bowed in front of Danzo while waiting for his order.

“Kinoe, monitor the presence of Orochimaru. I've taught you personally, don't disappoint me. ”

"Yes, Danzo-sama." Kinoe respectfully replied and blinked.

“Orochimaru you made a good imitation of the First Hokage Hashirama Senju. Too bad, his strength was less lustrous compared to the real deal. Now, all I need is the Mangekyo Sharingan and the nine tails will be under my control. Our village will not be stopped after that.”

Danzo clenched his fists as he thought of his next plan.

The Battle of Kumo,

The situation turned in favor of Konoha once again as reinforcements came from the Iwa Battlefront. Konoha's Shinobi began eyeing direct confrontation because they wanted to eradicate Kumo's forces for good.

Kumo is flanked from three sides as they are surrounded and have no chance of retreating.

“I'll keep them busy. You all back off.” The third Raikage commanded his troops as he prepared to fight Konoha's forces.

“No, Raikage-sama! We can fight together and push back the enemy. You don't have to buy time for our retreat. ” One of the commanders of Jounin advises the Third Raikage.

''Raikage-sama, I am sure we will be able to think of a solution. We still have the power of the Two-Tails and the Eight-Tails with us. With two perfect Jinchuriki on our side, I am sure we will turn things around against Konoha.” Another Jounin commander suggested.

"No! you all need to back off. I don't want Kumogakure's men to die meaninglessly anymore. We still have a chance when Iwagakure gets Konoha occupied on one side.

Let me act as a deterrent force to keep them busy while you all retreat safely. A will replace me as the New Raikage. You all have to support it fully in order for Kumogakure to flourish.”

The Third Raikage lectured his subordinates as he made Chakranya riled up and coated his body with lightning.

The third Raikage jumped in the middle of Konoha's army as he kept them busy. The jounin commanders shed tears as he looked at the broad back of the Third Raikage fighting against the enemy.

He wiped away his tears as he commanded his troops,

"Retreat! This is the command of the Raikage-Sama. We had to retreat safely to our village without any casualties. I don't want Raikage-Sama to die for nothing for us.”

A huge lightning dragon appeared on the battlefield and annihilated many Shinobi. The other shinobi pointed their kunai at the Raikage as they threw it at him. Thousands of kunai slid towards A as he blinked.

The third Raikage disappeared from their sight as he avoided the kunai. 

"Quick! He's too fast for our attack. We couldn't even land a single blow on him. ” Many Shinobi complained as they continued to attack the Third Raikage.

'Light Style: Straight Lightning'

The Third Raikage attacked one of the units as he destroyed it. Dust and debris rose as he began to slaughter the shinobi one after another.

'Wind Style Formation Jutsu: Great Wind Breakthrough'

'Wind Style: Wind Storm'

Many wind style users launched various cooperation jutsu to counter the Third Raikage lightning style. A is pushed backwards as he maintains his balance. There were no scratches or wounds on his body as he ignored the jutsu.

“We did no damage to him, we need to launch a stronger attack.” One of the Commanders of Jounin ordered his subordinates.

A attacks the shinobi with Black Lightning as he annihilates the other Ninja Forces.

“Not good, we can't fight it like this. He desperately wants to fight and die here.” Another Jounin commander voiced his opinion.

The fight with the Third Raikage continued for two more days as he used himself as bait and faced the Ten thousand Konoha shinobi.

He eventually fell and died from overloading his body and chakra. The exhaustion from the three-day continuous fight took his life.

In Konoha, on the roof of the Hokage's office,

Minato blinked in front of Hiruzen as he bowed to wait for the Hokage's command.

“I believe that you will continue the will of fire, Minato. So, I want to entrust you with the future of Konoha and the Shinobi World.

Minato, do you agree to replace me as the Next Hokage.”

Minato pondered for a moment before he asked,

"Hokage-Sama, do you believe I will be able to shoulder such a heavy responsibility."

“I know you can do it. The Will of Fire burns brighter than anyone inside you. There will be a council meeting later with various elders and the Fire Daimyo. I will nominate you for the next Hokage position during the meeting.”

“Yes, Hokage-sama. I'll do my best to live up to your expectations. ”

Hiruzen nodded while rejecting Minato.

'Right now, I have to wait for news from Kumo Battlefront. I hope Konoha can score a victory. The third Raikage along with the Two Tails and Eight Tails would be very formidable opponents. We had to sacrifice a hand or a foot to bring them down.'

Hiruzen sighed while taking out his pipe and smoking while staring at the village.
