Right after Akira and Aiko are escorted to Konoha,

Sakumo was worried about them. So, he decided to quietly follow and protect them. He left the responsibility for Patrol to the Vice-captain and left the border for Konoha.

He is not worried about the border Patrol team because he just warned Iwa Anbus when he went to save Akira and Aiko. The Iwa ninja were aware of its prowess, so they would not make a surprise attack on the border.

He safely escorted Akira and Aiko to the Village. After confirming their safety, he went to the Hokage Office to report the matter.

Hiruzen was stunned to see Sakumo in the village as he questioned her,

“Sakumo! In my knowledge, you should be guarding the Fire Nation Border. What are you doing here, neglecting your duty?”

“I am indeed on guard duty at the border. Yesterday, I saw Kagami Sensei's son informing my team of his mission and requesting re-enforcement. I went as their backup and saved them from Iwa Anbus. I confronted them and managed to drive them out. The situation at the border stabilized over the next few weeks as nin Iwa would prepare a countermeasure against me. Also, their Jounin commander is dead and their attacking team is wiped out. It will take a minimum of a week for them to get together and set up a new team at the border. After all, they had suffered considerable losses. ”

Hiruzen nodded as he spoke,

“It looks like Iwa really wants to kill the Uchiha trio. I'm surprised they got out alive, I guess it's because of you. I will visit them later in the hospital. So, what's your plan now Sakumo? Whether you're going back to the Border or living in a village. Your son is quite a genius and his performance in the academy is amazing.”

“I will stay in the village for a week and then return to Border to finish the rest of my day of duty. For now, I will go and visit Kakashi. I'm sure he'll be surprised to see me.” Sakumo smiled as he told Hiruzen.

"okay! You can continue your patrol duties later. ” Hiruzen fires Sakumo as he prepares to visit the Uchiha couple in hospital.

Sakumo went to his house to change his Ninja clothes and take a bath due to exhaustion from the long journey. He was alone at home as he was greeted by a picture of his late wife smiling gently at him.

“Kakashi we are five years old now Tsumi. He misses you so much, I miss you too.”

A single tear dripped down his face. He wiped it off when he went to shower.

His wife died two years ago in the Second Shinobi War. His jounin team is lured into a trap by Amegakure and they are all killed. Kakashi was only three years old at the time. From then on, he had to fulfill the role of a parent for Kakashi. But my ninja duties don't allow me to always be with Kakashi. Sakumo sighed sadly as he bathed.

Outside the academy, though,

Sakumo impatiently waited for Kakashi to finish his class. 

"Youth!.this is youth."

He was startled by this voice as he turned to look at the source of this voice.

A tall and well-built man with high cheekbones, a pointed nose, black hair, thick eyebrows, and body fur on his wrists and forearms walked upside down with his hands as he shouted. He has a haircut in the style of a Bowl that is combed to the right and slightly raised. There was a bushy mustache and a small beard and beard on his face. The man wore a green jumpsuit, orange-striped leg warmers, and a yellow scarf around his neck.

Sakumo immediately recognized the person who entered as Might Duy who was famous in the village as the 'Eternal Continent.' Sakumo greeted Might Duy as he asked,

“Maybe Duy san! Why are you at the academy? ”

Might Duy stood up straight as he wiped the dust off his clothes and replied,

“Guy was accepted into the academy as a substitute in the Academy course class. It's time for classes at the academy to end and I'm thinking of training Guy longer after his class is over. Anyway, he's still in …. His Youth.”

Sakumo nodded at Might Duy who was doing push-ups while waiting for his son.

Soon the Academy bell rang as the children began to run out of the Academy.

“I'll beat you someday Kakashi! My eternal rival.”

A six-year-old boy with a shiny bowl-style haircut with hair reaching his chin yelled at Kakashi. He had thick eyebrows and wore a sleeveless green jumpsuit with a red scarf tied around his neck.

"Do whatever seems to suit you." Kakashi replied nonchalantly as he prepared to go home. ”

“Kakashi!”

“You should be on a mission. Why are you here?”

Sakumo sighed as he reprimanded Kakashi,

“You saw your father after three weeks and this is how you greeted him. I returned early due to some urgent work and Hokage-sama agreed to give me a break for a few days before I returned to my work.

Kakashi began to walk expressionlessly towards their home but deep down he had a smile on his face under his mask. He turned and spoke,

“Train me as long as you stay home. I'll be right past you.”

'This kid he just thinks about training.' Sakumo shook his head as he followed Kakashi.

Two weeks later,

Sakumo was at the village entrance, he had to return to the border to continue his patrol duties for another two weeks. Kakashi waved his hand at him to say goodbye. Sakumo waved back then he blinked and disappeared in the forest.

A few hours later, at the Hokage office, the,

Hiruzen sighed as he looked at the mission request posted to them. This is an S-Rank mission posted by Daimyo from the Land of Fire. A scroll containing various shady Daimyo businesses is stolen from his home by several ninjas. From that sort of thing, they looked like mist ninjas. Daimyo was afraid they were spreading the info to the people in the Fire Nation. This can cause great unrest among the masses and can lead to instability in the Fire Nation.

Hiruzen clutched his head as Daimyo had offered a large amount of rewards to deal with the matter. But also warned that if they fail the mission then the funds given by Daimyo will be reduced by 20%. It was a very large number and they were unable to fail the mission.

Hiruzen began to look through the list of suitable candidates for the mission. 

'Tsunade, he's not in the village. He crossed his name. Jiraiya had left the village to explore the world, that lazy disciple of mine. I can't blame him, his information network is very useful for the village. Orochimaru is on a mission, he will need a while to return. Fugaku Uchiha is still wary of us due to the deaths of so many Uchiha clans over the past few years. Sakumo, Oh! Sakumo would be the best choice.'

Hiruzen waved his hand as he called out to an Anbu.

"Go! and call Sakumo to my office. It's an emergency.”

Anbu jumped out the window and disappeared on the roof. Hiruzen began pondering the list of others for the mission.

After a while, the Anbu members reappeared at the Hokage's office as he told her about Sakumo's departure to the border.

“So, he left for the border this morning. Considering his prowess, it would be difficult to meet and inform him of the mission before tomorrow. ”

Hiruzen had a headache when he thought about this problem. For now, gather these people in my office. He gave a list of names to Anbu. 

Outside his office, in the waiting room, the fat Daimyo was sitting on the sofa while covering his face with a fan and sipping the tea prepared for him. He anxiously looked towards the Hokage's office as he shouted,

“I want to meet Hiruzen now. Tell him, we can't delay this matter anymore or my reputation will be tarnished which will not benefit Konoha. Spread as many ninjas as possible, I want this mission to be a success.”

The receptionist broke out in cold sweat on his head as he tried to calm Daimyo down.

“Daimyo-Sama. They'll be here soon, please wait a minute.

Huhhhhh…

Daimyo snorted angrily and continued to sip his tea.

Inside the Hokage's office, ten jounins saluted the Hokage with one knee on the floor and the head bowed. Hiruzen nodded to them as he began to explain the details of the mission.

The Jounins receive the mission because they are ready to set out on a mission.

Then, during the mission, the ninjas are faced with a difficult situation to save their comrades or continue the mission. They chose missions over their counterparts. Although the mission was accomplished, Konoha lost Two Commanders Jounin and five other jounins as well as ten jounins specialized in the mission. This was a huge loss for Konoha as many capable ninjas were killed in the mission. The heavy involvement of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist was found in the Mission.
