THE FIRST TEAM CAVE AND THE FIRST MISSION CAVE

Early in the morning, I started preparing all my ninja tools and supplies as I was going to be assigned to the Team today.

I wear protective leaves around my forehead. A seal with the kanji symbol 'Storage' was printed on the metal clamp as I wore it on my left hand. A pair of bracers was a gift from Kushina when I asked her to make me a storage area. This pair of metal bracelets was one of the items from the Uzumaki and Kushina clan heritage gave it to me while saying,

“This pair of metal supports feed on dust in our Uzumaki complex. I thought you'd love it, so Big Sister brought it for you. Now give me a hug for this gift.”

I gladly accepted this generous gift with a regretful expression as I squeezed in her arms. This bracelet is very useful as I can use it to store my Ninja tools. The left hand bracelet keeps my weapons a secret whereas I keep my kunaiku in the right hand brace as it will be easy to summon them in a fight. I wear fingerless gloves with metal cladding on the back that is similar to Kakashi. This ninja gear I think is practical.

I arrived at the entrance of the academy. I was supposed to meet my new team here today. I have graduated during the ongoing academy sessions so there are no new graduates to pair with. I will join an existing team that has vacancies for now.

I waited for an hour near the academy. Two genins came to see me when one of them spoke,

"Follow us, we'll meet Sensei."

I nodded at them and started following them. There was no interaction between us. None of them introduced themselves and I never cared about them either. I can feel rejection from their behavior. I can pretty much guess their reasons, but I don't pay attention to them.

Genin took me to the bridge on the Naka River. Jounin felt our presence and looked towards us. He smiled at us while waving, he said,

“So, you two have met your new teammates. I think I'll introduce myself first.

I am Tendo Onikuma from the Onikuma clan and I will be the Chairman of your Jounin Team. Now you three introduce each other.”

“I Izuna Uchiha. I just graduated from the Academy. It's nice to meet you all. Please take care of me in the future. ”

I introduce myself to the team, whether they like it or not, I am part of their team. After all, they will be the ones who will support me during the mission. Both snorted but still replied,

“I Ryo Aoki. I am not from any clan. My father is a small shopkeeper and he sells clothes.”

“I Takeru Hoga. I am an orphan and I am not from any clan.”

No more greetings or cheers. The atmosphere became awkward. To ease the tension, Tendo clapped as he spoke,

“Well, now don't strain so. Izuna-kun must complete his first mission and it is a tradition in the Village that the first mission will be assigned by Hokage-sama himself to each new ninja. Izuna-kun you go and visit the Hokage-Sama office. We'll catch up with you, I have something to talk to the two of them about.

"okay! Tendo Sensei's! I'll be going to the Hokage-Sama office soon.'

I started running towards the Hokage's office as I jumped over the roof and disappeared from their sight.

“We can't accept him Tendo Sensei. It's been two weeks since Haru died on a mission. How could the Hokage's office be so ruthless in replacing him so easily without our consent? And that too with a kid who barely left his Klan border. Sorry sensei, we can't take care of a spoiled Clan Child.”

The two genins begin to pit themselves against Tendo. Tendo held his head in frustration as he reprimanded them,

"Listen! Ryo and Takeru, you two are ninjas now? You two should have known that casualties would occur during missions before you became a ninja. The job of a Ninja is dangerous and full of blood and murder and also the world will not wait for you to forget your sorrow. You must continue to take on missions and fulfill your duties as a ninja.

Hokage-sama has given you two weeks to deal with your grief and now after two weeks, you should be ready for more missions. As for your third teammate Izuna Uchiha, he is a member of the powerful Uchiha clan and his abilities are personally approved by Hokage-sama. So, you don't have to worry about him holding you back. ”

“Tendo Sensei! You're right jounin. You can save Haru if you try. You are also guilty of the death of Haru.”

This time Tendo was annoyed by their remarks as he yelled at them,

“I am the Jounin Instructor and Your Team Leader, not your Nanny who will meet your every need and will always protect you. It was Haru's fault for ignoring my orders and setting off a trap and blowing himself up. Now stop nagging and get ready for your new mission. I don't want to hear any more complaints from you two. If you complain just once then both of you will retire as Ninjas. Now proceed to Hokage.” office

'Do you think being a ninja is like playing house? You want to get all the praise you want for a successful mission and blame others for your failures.'

I entered the Hokage's office while knocking on the door. Hokage's grumpy face usually appeared in my view as he spoke,

"Oh! It was your Izuna-kun. So, you've met your team and are ready for your first mission. Come with me to the Mission room, I will personally select a mission for you. Since this is your first mission after graduation, it won't be too difficult. I'll give you the simplest D-Rank mission for you to experience. ”

We went inside the mission room and I saw a receptionist frantically trying to calm a woman down.

A fat woman with dark brown hair separated in three poofs jumped around in the room. She wears pink lipstick, pink nail polish, and purple eyeshadow. There were many gold rings with various gemstones on his fingers.

The woman cried a pail of tears as she blew her nose with a white handkerchief with a layer of gold. He watched Hiruzen as he leaped towards her,

“Hokage-sama, Hokage-sama…. My poor Tora is gone again. Poor cat, how can he survive in this world without my love and affection. Hokage-sama you must hurry and send some ninjas to find my poor Tora.”

Hiruzen was dripping sweat at the woman's enthusiasm, as he convinced her,

“Do not worry Mrs Shijimi, we will soon find your cat.”

“Yes, Hokage-sama! If that is your promise then I can breathe a sigh of relief.”

I recognize the lady from the anime. I forgot the name of the anime but I remember that this woman has an immortal cat who likes to run away from home. 

'Like come on! Her cat outlived poor Asuma in the anime. Also, this cat is a source of income for all village genin. So, I won't complain but seriously this will be my first mission.'

As if right at Cue, Hiruzen took out a picture from his pocket and handed it to me. 

“This is a portrait of Madam Shijimi's cat, Tora. I always keep this photo because the cat usually runs away almost every day. Lady Shijimi is the wife of Daimyo Api.”

I took a picture of the cat and started to remember its features.

The cat had brown fur with a black line running down its forehead with three lines crossing it. It has yellow eyes and a red ribbon tied around its right ear.

The receptionist recorded my name on a piece of paper along with my Ninja registration ID as she issued a D-rank 'Finding Tora the Cat' mission to me. 

Meanwhile, Tendo Sensei and two of my other teammates arrived in the room. Tendo Sensei picked up the paper with the details of the mission on it as he ordered us to move.

This mission sucks. The cat was agile like a leopard and intelligent like a fox.

'Fuck! This damn cat is more useful than my two useless teammates if I train him like a ninja.'

I cursed in my mind to my two useless teammates who contributed almost nothing in catching this Cat.

The Fat Lady grabbed the cat and almost squeezed out the cat's life as she strangled the cat in an embrace.

“Don't leave me again, dear Tora-chan.”

'Serving you properly! You fucking cat!'

I muttered to myself because I couldn't pity the cat.
