I could not find any problems with the shop owner. We were both sitting on one of the corner chairs of the tavern, as we listened to the rumors.

'Did you hear that the Village Chief's daughter was having an affair with the Fisherman's son? I wonder how the Village Chief reacted?'

'I heard Maken-san brought some new items from his trip to the Land of Fire. We should check it out.'

……..

People talked about many rumors and hot topics in the village. None of that seems relevant to us except the Merchant who recently visited the Land of Fire.

'Oh! Have you heard Zach-san became rich for two weeks?'

'Yes! I heard about the news. Recently, he got a big order to forge some goods and after that order, his business increased. Money flows like water to him.'

'Yes! He had hit the gold this time.

'Shhh... I have insider news about Zach's business. I recently went to his shop to fix my axe and you know what I see.'

'What?'

'I saw some scary bald men with a lot of scars on their faces. Those people look like criminals, so I immediately avoided them. They carry a very heavy chest.'

'What's so surprising about this? There were all sorts of people visiting his shop.'

'No, no, no. The surprising part was that I saw the eagle claw tattoo under their neck. The sign was well hidden but I could see it at a glance. Hiya! Do you think that person is part of that organization?'

'Shhh...Don't talk like that in public. We'll probably be marked by those sneaky people.'

Kazuko and I have been waiting for such news. So, this confirms the existence of Claw. 

“Come back to our meeting place. We will meet with Shisui and Mami to share our Intel side.”

I secretly told Kazuko about our next move. We reached our goal and waited a while. After an hour of waiting, Shisui and Mami appeared. I told them about my findings and they shared their information. Shisui and Mami did not find anything strange on their side.

“Shisui and Mami, you two will look for clues at the Maken merchant store while Kazuko and I will investigate the Blacksmith Zach store. It's almost afternoon now. Let's find an inn for our inn and we'll start the investigation at night.”

We found an inn near the merchant's shop. We booked three rooms. Kazuko and Shisui share a room. Later that night, we're all ready to investigate when we sneak out.

Kazuko and I snuck into the blacksmith shop at the other end of the village. 

Clack…

The sound of metal hitting metal resounded in the shop as the blacksmith was forging something. We sneaked in through one of the windows as I covered Kazuko and myself with my Kamuflase technique. After fumbling for a while, I found the location of the warehouse. 

There are many wooden crates inside the warehouse. We started checking them out. The crates had many Kunai, Shuriken, and various newly forged Ninja tools and weapons. 

'So, this is what happened? Kumogakure is preparing for the coming war. It seems like the tension on the border has reached its breaking point and war could break out at any moment.'

I nodded at Kazuko as we sneaked out of the store back into the inn. Shisui and Mami were already there. We were all gathered in my room, as we began discussing our findings. Shisui stated the report,

“Nii-san, we searched Maken's men's shop. There was nothing suspicious in the shop. So, we went to his house to look for clues and see what we found?”

Shisui took out a scroll from his pocket and placed the scroll on the table. A kanji letter for 'Secret' was written on the scroll. He was about to open the scroll when I hurriedly grabbed his hand.

"Wait on! Don't be in a hurry.”

“There's an explosive seal on that roll. Thank goodness Shisui, you didn't open it earlier.”

Cold sweat ran down Shisui and Mami's backs as they heaved a sigh of relief.

“But nii-san, I checked the scroll earlier with my Sharingan to detect any traps. But there are no signs of traps on it.” Shisui asked curiously.

“Indeed there are no signs of traps on paper. The explosive seal was hidden so well with other seals that even the Byakugan and Sharingan could not tell the difference. But that is the whole case for me because I am a Master of Fuinjutsu. 

I can see hidden explosive seals because I usually write a lot of them. All my explosive tags were written by me. ”

'But who can set up such a hidden trap for us?'

We all start speculating about the creator of this trap.

'Hm! If my suspicions are correct, it's most likely Danzo. In the anime, after the second Ninja war, Kumogakure begins to collect all kinds of Ninjutsus from various villages and clans. Perhaps, Danzo had set up this trap to blow up some of those Ninjas. What a cunning plan, if Deidra finds out about this plan he'll give Danzo a thumbs up.'

I shook my head to throw away such funny thoughts as I unrolled the scroll. The scroll contains a list of some of the C and D rank jutsu commonly used by Genin in Konoha. Such jutsu can be found anywhere.

“This Man of Maken is just the intermediary of that chain. I'm sure he didn't realize the contents of the scroll otherwise he might now blow himself up. Let's go to meet our informant the next morning.”

I stopped the meeting when we all went to sleep.

The next morning, the,

We all gathered again after breakfast as we moved towards the designated location to meet our spies. We reached the rendezvous point as we hid and waited for the spies to appear.

After about fifteen minutes, a fat man with a large mustache and the appearance of a merchant appeared on the spot. The fat man started to look around as he marked the nearby wall with a strange symbol.

“This is our spy, it is the symbol that Hokage-sama told us. Let's meet with the spies, but be sure to be vigilant. He can also be an enemy in disguise.”

I warned them all as we came out of our hiding place. We walked over to the spy in our disguise as I moved towards the wall and drew another sign. The spy nodded towards us, we followed him to a remote location before clearing the sign. After arriving at a quiet place,

“You are the shinobi sent by the village, right? You really took the time, we were supposed to meet yesterday ”

“Yes, we are shinobi leaves, and some things delay us. Anyway, now guide us to the hideout so we can do our mission. ” I reply spy.

“Follow me, Wakano is the leader of the underground organization 'Claw'. I'm sure you know about that. But, recently I have seen many Kumo ninjas around his hideout. Here are the details of the underground hideout I obtained from bribing members of the 'Claw'. ”

The spy distributed the scroll with the map on it as he continued,

“Wakano usually spends most of his time underground and his dirty work is done by his right hand. The perfect time to kill him was at night when he was busy with his fun. Also, if you manage to kill him then make sure to meet me once. I also have to complete my mission.”

"Very good! Its alright. About what is your mission, and what will you do if it fails?” I asked the spy as I looked into his eyes for his response.

“I will only hide for a while if you fail your mission. As for my mission, I apologize but I cannot reveal its contents. ”

I checked his facial expression with my Sharingan as I did not notice any changes in it.

'So, he's telling the truth. Maybe, Hiruzen has other plans.'

"All right! We have reached that place. Now all you have to do is wait for the night to increase your chances of success. My work is done here and I will step back now.”

The spy retreated as we hid nearby and waited for nightfall.
