"Sister Faras, I can't accept your marriage to another woman, I don't want to lie and say I'm fine when I know you're marrying another woman.
I cannot pretend to be sincere and happy, my knowledge has not yet arrived there, Faras... Choose me or him..."
"Sik, why did you give me such a heavy choice, I love you.and love him too." Faras covered his face with his palm. She almost cried.
"Sister Faras, my husband...." Atifa voice pilu.
"I'm just an ordinary human being, I'm just a lowly woman filled with jealousy. My heart is not as big as other women who can accept herself as an option even though I may be the first among the two. I cannot be a hypocrite, brother. If I sin for this feeling, I cannot truly escape from this sin. I really can't." Atifa cried so much in a state of calm in front of the husband, his body bent almost to touch his thigh, his legs bent in such a way in helplessness. His body shook violently as if to tell so much sadness that is now in his responsibility.
How not, yesterday afternoon they were still happily chatting, even Atifa had cooked so much to welcome the return of Faras after many months did not meet and this morning, after performing the dawn prayer together, he said, just after she kissed the back of her husband's hand as she always did and his forehead had just received a warm, friendly kiss from her husband, Faras suddenly said he wanted to talk to her.
And, as at the whip right in the heart, when her husband said, she had been married to a woman for almost the last 6 months, even on her return three months ago, Faras was married to a woman, a midwife with a daughter in the small town where he worked.
And Faras hid his marriage until his arrival this time he chose to be frank with Atifa.
"You are evil, brother.you are evil..." Atifa broke the sun that morning, the coldest morning she had ever felt.
Little Aisyah had never seen her mother so sad, as sad as that day.
...***...
Aisyah's previous small family life was fine though simple before a friend of her father invited her to work three years ago there because she had a pretty important position in the mining company.
For the first year, Aisyah and her mother felt their lives had completely improved, as the father's salary was quite large. Every three months his father comes home because there is a two-week off period, which gives employees a vacation or called stretching from the company.
In those two years they could buy a house KPR BTN although not big but much better than their previous home which only contracted , even their neighbors were envious of the improvement of their lives.
From a simple rented house, with only one small bedroom where they sleep with crammed even so small only fit a bed and a wooden wardrobe that is not how big. Between their rooms with the living room is only limited to plywood walls, even the kitchen is only enough for cooking. Without a dining table, they usually sit on the floor with a rough cast by rolling out mats to eat together.
Their house was actually too narrow, but Aisyah was happy in that simplicity. His father, who was only a welder who worked in a workshop, lived their lives well even though only mediocre. His mother helped by being a laundry worker at the laundry house owned by the rented owner's mother.
Their lives are enough, they certainly never starve and Aisyah can always get a snack every day just to drink ice doger in plastic and some cilok seeds during school breaks.
Faras and Atifa, two people married out of love. They have been dating since High School. After High School, Atifa did not continue school due to economic limitations. She and her sister Sharif have been orphans since their teens. Their mother and father died in an accident.
Sharif, who is almost ten years different from his sister Atifa, takes good care of his sister.
Sharif married an ustad princess, a teacher at a boarding school, where he had long been a santri there.
He would carry his wife every morning on the way home after they both jogged around the pesantren area and she was exhausted. Syarif adored and glorified Asniah as his wife even though the woman was often sickly.
Sharif took his sister Atifa to live with him and his wife, as he was the only sibling and relative of Atifa.
Asniah also loved Atifa, her sister-in-law was like her own sister. Atifa never lacked the affection of the two people.
Then, Sharif betrothed his sister to one of his friends named Faras.
"Faras was a good boy, even though his father was only a tire repair shop owner, but he was very good. I think you'll like it." That's what Sharif said, he knew very well that his friend was dancing heart to his sister who had been sitting in the final level of the Aliyah State Madrasah near their home.
Faras also happens to be a santri alumni who is studying at the boarding school where Syarif works as a musical (santri nanny) there. Pesantren where his father-in-law, the father of Asniah served as a teacher in the same pesantren.
And sure enough, when Atifa first met Faras she immediately fell in love.
Faras was his first love and promised it in his heart as his last love. She adored her husband so much, giving her heart completely to him, because he was the second man who was so affectionate and nurturing after his brother Sharif.
Atifa had lost the affection of a father from childhood, when she met a man like Faras she could barely turn her face away.
After graduating from Aliyah, Faras edited Atifa when she was 17 and Faras was 23. They married modestly, even his brother Sharif married him while carrying his two-year-old daughter Rahimah, because the wife Asniah was paralyzed.
After three years of marriage, Aisyah was born, coinciding with Asniah, the wife of her brother Sharif, who breathed her last in her illness after being paralyzed for five years in Sharif's care, leaving her daughter Rahimah who was then five years old.
Atifa and Faras' marriage was so perfect, when the beautiful Aisyah was born into the world, even though her brother was grieving the loss of his soulmate.
The wise Sharif only believed, behind his tears, that the Lord comforted him with the birth of his nephew Aisha.
