"But this is different..." Bram's face became serious.
"I have been presumptuous to save the longing of a girl whom my parents and teachers entrust me to guard, but I have instead..malah fallen in love with her?"
"Hinduced to a girl who was entrusted to me, but I was instead...It even felt like I had fallen in love with her?" Bram did not avert his eyes from the sky that looks thick, maybe soon it will rain.
"Who are you in love with?" asked Mang Diman while frowning, in the past he was not too close to Bram because his master was very rarely at home even if he was coming home never reprimanded at all. But now that his master had really changed, he looked friendly and smiling. Since the divorce with her mistress, Bram looks calmer and alim. Five-day prayers are rarely missed.
If the divorce sometimes destroys many people but never saw the effect of divorce as well as happened to the host and hostess.
Sometimes Bram invites him to chat for hours. Talking about many things, Bi Irah and Mang Diman were sometimes amazed by how much their master changed.
"She's the prettiest girl I've ever seen in my entire life." Bram said with a small smile.
"The girl must be so beautiful, that you look so happy just thinking about her." Tukas Mang Diman's.
Bram blushed while scratching his non-itchy head.
"She's beautiful.she's kind, she's gentle..." Bram smiled timidly saying it to Mang Diman.
Mang Diman nodded while tidying up his work.
His mind floated on Bu Diah, it felt like what his Master mentioned was as if describing his ex-wife.
"She is beautiful, as beautiful as Diah.no. Unlike Diah, they are equally beautiful but.but she is kind. Uh, I mean.he...like..." Bram seemed to understand what he was thinking about but he ended up confused himself describing the figure of Aisyah to Mang Diman who was seen glancing at him curiously.
"Why don't you just tell him? How could he know if.if you just keep it to yourself." Mang Diman said, while cleaning his stuff scattered into the toolbox.
"She's a girl who never married." Bram was misbehaved, feeling guilty about his strange feelings.
"Father is now a widower. Almost a year and a half alone, there is no harm in falling in love with women, whether widows or girls." Mang Diman smiled at Bram.
"I failed in my household because of my own fault. I wasted a wife who loved me with a cruel tyrant. That's why I don't dare say love anymore, I'm afraid it'll hurt someone else." Bram lirih.
"But if you really love him, there's nothing wrong." Mang Diman.
Bram was silent, he was just stunned, in his face the gift of ash that he was holding earlier. Aisyah's face played on her eyes with a shy smile and her sweet dimples.
...***...
Aisyah woke up just at 12 o'clock after a few minutes, she dreamed of meeting with abah.
In his dream, he was standing staring at him from across the river in his robe, which he used to wear on holidays.
Abah did not say anything but his smile was so wide, with a face illuminated by light. He just stretched out his hand as if he was about to give something, when Aisyah tried to see it, it turned out to be a prayer beads, a similar light brown tasbih that was presented to her on her birthday.
Before going to bed Aisyah cried, unconsciously to sleep. Her memory carried over to Abah, to her mother and lastly to a face that had recently troubled her mind. Bram's face with a mature and attentive look, the person who cared the most about him but disappeared somewhere it had been days since he had vented his frustration, when the man was so determined to find his father for himself.
With a trembling body Aisyah opened her closet and looked for a light brown tasbih from sandalwood.
He kissed the tasbih and then took the mukena.
Aisyah felt abah was telling her to recite, praying for calmness of the bathin when upset as always taught abah. The words were ringing in his ears, though,
"Isa my son, indeed at night, there is a time when a Muslim asks for the good of the world and the Hereafter, surely God gave him that and it went on every night because that's one of the most mustajab times is to pray at night, in the remaining third of the end of the night. Whoever prays at that time will be granted, whosoever pleads will be allowed, whosoever wishes forgiveness will be forgiven. Climb your prayers with all your heart, for only you and your Lord are awake at that time. Whatever you want to say, say it, God will be glad to hear you surrender to Him."
A bunch of memories leaped into Aisha's head and after kneeling in her tahajjud and istiqarah prayers, she remembered the one name she wanted to mention among her strands of do'a, the name of a "bram".
