LOVE IN TASBIH DETAILS
CHAPTERS 18. CAN'T BUY FLAVOR

The sweat on Bram's forehead was as big as corn kernels, not because of the calmness in the two plastic bags left right, but because it was crowded in the market that was quite crowded.

Bram's lifetime never felt such a sensation, following where Aisyah steps.

Actually Aisyah refused Bram to bring her groceries,

"I can do it myself, mas..." Aisyah.

"Where is my pride as a man if I let you carry so many groceries, while my own hands are empty. Well, Ayesha.please don't embarrass me." Bram glanced left and right, he was ashamed of himself for feeling the gaze of people as if astonished to see himself only following Aisyah's steps but letting the woman carry her own shopping bag.

Bram was not fascinated by Aisyah's attitude, even when she chose some vegetables, this beautiful woman spoke kindly to anyone and always did not forget to say thank you after finishing paying.

Bram himself after receiving something rarely said the sacred word, he felt he had paid for the services or goods he received so there was no need for him to mince words with thanks.

But the most unpleasant experience for Bram when entering the fish market, the fishy smell seemed to radiate into the air.

"Jeez, Ayesha.how can you bear to shop like this." Grumpily Bram while covering his nose

"I always stop by this market every day before helping Tiah cook to the stalls taking orders of fish, chicken and meat. So, there's nothing weird anymore..."

"But this fishy smell..."

"Mas Bram has never been to the market?"

"No."

"Said mas Bram never married..."

Bram was stunned to hear the sentence Aisyah said timidly. It seemed that Aisyah herself was not comfortable with her words, but she slipped just like that.

He only heard abah saying in passing that Bram could appear almost every morning on their porch after sometimes helping abah clean the mosque after the dawn prayer because he was a widower.

"Yes, but what does this have to do with the market?"

"Bram's wife has never been to the market?" Ask Aisyah innocently.

"That's.eh..I don't really know..." Bram answered wrongly.

"Mas Bram never accompanied Bram's wife to the market?" Aisyah asked again looking astonished.

"Eh, no.actually never..Normally Bi Irah may be the one to the market, I've never seen Diah go to the market." Bram explained a little confused, either Diah who had never been to the market or he who was rarely at home so he did not know if his ex-wife had ever gone to the market.

"Bram's wife has never been to the market?" Aisyah asked innocently.

"No.I mean..ever but to the self-service maybe..." Bram stuttered, he really could not explain any simple matter that Aisyah asked.

"Oh, it's true that the rich rarely go to markets like this." Aisyah smiled, ending their conversation about this market because seeing Bram was lost for words.

Bram himself, although forced to pay for Aisyah's groceries, was rejected by this woman hard.

"I have my own money, ma'am."

"But I want to pay for it."

"I've been very helped Bram want to deliver and even accompany me to the market today. So, Bram doesn't have to pay anything."

"No need, mas. My money is more than enough. I've set aside from my salary specifically to make my favorite dishes on his birthday."

Bram really did not know what to say, only for the groceries not to exceed two hundred thousand, Aisyah had set aside money from their daily needs.

He never thought how much money meant to certain people.

"But that's really nothing..."Bram took the money out of his wallet, some red sheets but Aisyah once again rejected it.

"I know it's nothing for Bram but I feel happier to be able to give you something on your birthday, which is really from my hard work. Although it might only be cooking a more special lunch menu than usual, but I can make it happy without having to put my hands on someone else, it's very special." The rejection sentence sounded subtle but firm that he did not want to accept the money given by Bram.

"But..."

"Mas Bram, my pride in being able to fulfill my duties as a child, seeing your smile is a matter of satisfaction. I have promised you well in advance, make it a jengkol stew, a meat opor and a favorite vegetable barrette on his birthday, let me keep it to my own efforts."

Bram was really amazed many times, the first time he met a woman who refused money or gifts from him, then he just knew how meaningful the value of money for people whose lives were really simple like Aisyah, he said, and the other thing that made her feel so small, money could not buy the satisfaction and pride of an Aisyah to make her parents happy.

"Last, we go to the meat stand, at the end of this fish market." Said Aisyah with a sparkling face. She lifted a little of her long skirt because of the wet floor, although it was nothing more than an ankle.

The sound of the merchants unpretentious bustling with the buyers, Bram felt his head dizzy, the smell of people's sweat mixed with the smell of fish and chicken cut.

This market is amazing in the eyes of Bram. His face was reddened by a slight feeling of nausea.

"Mas Bram wouldn't mind carrying his shopping bag? or I can bring one of those bags to Bram's...."

"Oh, it's okay. The time of carrying groceries as light as this I can't, don't underestimate me so." Bram cut Aisyah's sentence while following Aisyah's steps, sometimes he worried when Aisyah had to jostle with some buyers through the block.

Aisyah immediately greeted a butcher who seemed to be very familiar.

"Assalammualaikum Mang Diding, sekilo ya..." Aisyah pointed at the thigh of the cow hanging in front of her.

"Eh, neng Ayesha..." Mang Diding who was stocky and not too tall was welcoming him cheerfully.

"Any sekilo, neng?"

"Yes,"

"Tumbens?"

"Oh, this is for your own consumption, not for the stalls so just a kilo...."

"Not that, neng..." Mang Didin is funny. Aisyah's brows were tangled in confusion looking at Diding's mang face.

"I mean Diding, tumben today bring the husband?" Tempted mang Diding, his eyes glanced at Bram who was behind him, carrying two medium-sized crochet bags with various contents.

Aisyah's face was flushed, as red as a ripe guava.
