"What's wrong?" Bram asked, as the two of them sat facing each other.
"What can I help you with?" it felt strange indeed when the question came out of her lips, along with Bella who was wriggling from her embrace.
"Papa, Bella's got a new doll for mom, you wanna see?" Bella asked spoiled.
"Oh, huh? Papa really wants to see it." Bram answered the boy while raising his eyebrows.
Bella jumped out of her lap and ran,
"Papa don't go anywhere, Bella will show it to papa." The sound of Bella's scream was heard echoing throughout the room before she disappeared behind the door leading
It's weird when they meet after a breakup, they're like two strangers.
"I'm sorry if this bothers you." Diah was silent for a moment, Bram stared at Diah's face unblinkingly.
"I want to ask Bram..."
"Yes?"
"Is Bram willing to look after Bella for two days?" Ask Diah with an uncomfortable look.
"Keep Bella?"
"Yes, I thought, that Mas Bram wouldn't mind maybe for the next two days Bella's parenting..."
"Oh, of course. Why not?" Sahut Bram immediately broke Diah's attitude that seemed doubtful.
"I am Papa Bella, of course I am also obligated to Bella."
"I'm sorry if..."
"It's okay, Bella will be with me for two days even if you need more time, no need to rush, I will take good care of Bella. Mama must have missed her granddaughter." Bram interjected, casting off the doubts that lingered in Diah's gaze.
"Actually, there's a mom and dad here who can take care of Bella, just that no one can take her to school if I leave with them, Bella's on her midterms right now." Raut Diah of regret.
"I understand. Don't you make me feel guilty as if asking me to look after Bella is burdening me. Bella is my son too. A child deserves his father's attention. Even though we're divorced but the child is still a shared responsibility, isn't that right?" The sentence sounded straightforward, Diah was stunned as if not Bram who was now in front of him.
Never had she seen Bram speak so sweetly and wisely as long as he was married to her.
"Thank you for making me happy." Diah took her breath.
"I'm glad I could help you. No need to worry, Bella will be fine. If you really need to, just call me don't hesitate. I'm just a lawyer now." Bram raised his shoulders with a knotty smile as if trying to melt the atmosphere that felt so formal.
"Lawyer?"
Diah's laughter stopped when she realized Bram was scratching his head while grinning.
The atmosphere between them felt so strange, the first time Diah could laugh in front of Bram. Throughout their marriage, this was never possible.
The moment their eyes met, Diah did not blink looking at Bram, as if he was investigating his heart.
"Mas Bram hasn't had a shower? Mas seems disheveled and..and a little smelly?" Suddenly Diah asked carefully, her brows furrowed at the sweat on Bram's forehead.
"Oh, huh?" Bram reflex raised both of his arms and sniffed left-right with a slight shy look.
Today he is almost as early as the market, crammed there even down the fish market a little muddy. his clothes from dry to wet and dry again on the body.
"I've been at the market all morning." Sahut Bram's.
"Markets?" Diah gawked, as if he could not believe what he heard.
"I didn't hear wrong, did I?" Diah asked now she looked very astonished.
"Oh, yes. To the market.I mean I drove a friend to the market." Bram replied with a stutter, he stone realized his answer reaped astonishment from his ex-wife.
He never once went to the market, as long as they were married and as far as Diah Bram was known was also born into a family that was quite rich they had two servants in his house from small, small, no one made him go to the market.
"Introducing someone to the market? Who?" Diah couldn't help but ask because so little did she hear a Bram travel to the market.
After the passing of Sally's mother a few months ago, Diah knew full well that Bram was no longer communicating with Sally, the woman he was cheating on. And according to his boss, Sarah, his sister Sally, had been taken by their father to Canada for intensive care because Sally was suspected of having severe depression and leading to mental disorders.
The news of Bram's personal life is not known by Diah anymore.
Their change after so long not talking to each other a little intense like now really makes Diah so surprised.
A lot has changed from Bram.
"Friends. Just friends." Bram answered short and misbehaved.
