Mathelina

Mathelina
[Season 2] CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

It's screwed! The rumor spread, and Matthew gave him a hard choice.

Logan returned home with a tired face and ruffled his reddish-brown hair. The plan is, he will smoke a pack of cigarettes tonight to get rid of the turmoil.

However, when he entered the living room, he was stunned. A woman sits on one of the couches sipping tea. Knowing Logan's whereabouts, the woman stood with a smile.

Logan took a long breath. Elina must have known everything that happened today thanks to Matthew. Uh! Isn't it enough papa to interrogate him? Now, is her mom following along too?

"Logan, you clean up first. Mama will be waiting for you. There's something we need to talk about now" said Elina, softly.

"Ma," said Logan. "Can't we just talk tomorrow?"

Elina glanced in the other direction while thinking. If he could refrain from talking about this, why would he come here even if it was late?

"Go take a shower first." Elina smiled. "We're talking now."

Would you like to persuade her to marry Anna? If that's the case, it looks like Logan has raised his hand.

"Ma, you better talk to Anna" she suggested. "I don't beat papa's decision anymore. But Anna still seems to disagree."

"really? You know where it's coming from?"

The stubborn girl was invited home in a fancy car Logan just did not want, let alone marry him?

"So I talked to him" Logan lied.

Elina thought, if it was like that, all she had to do was meet Anna.

🍀

Since it didn't work, Anna was able to get up during the day. This pregnancy made her lazy to do anything.

There was only Anna and her mother. Everyone is doing it as usual.

At 9 am Anna woke up. Mama knocked on her bedroom door, definitely to tell her to have breakfast. However, Anna still did not want to move.

"Anna! Wake up!" call her mother again. "There's a guest!"

Anna opened her eyes wide, jerking awake. "Guests? Who?" muttered.

Maybe Anna forgot that she was pregnant, jumping out of bed, running to open the door. "Who, Ma?"

"I don't know." Mama raises both shoulders, then goes down and says again, "Find the guy, Mama make a drink first."

Anna rushed to the living room, but there was no one. Maybe on the front porch? Yes, there was indeed a man in a driver's uniform there. The mature brown-skinned man stood up and smiled as Anna appeared from behind the door.

"Whose father?" asked Anna.

"I'm the driver of Jonathan's family. Lady Elina ordered me to take you to the Jonathan family residence," the man replied with a friendly smile.

Anna's eyes were round. To Jonathan's family? Like a durian collapsing during the day. But, what's up, huh? Why is Logan's mother looking for him?

"Eng ... Just a minute, yeah, sir. I clean up first."

.

.

.

Is this a house or a palace? Anna looked in amazement from the moment her feet stepped into Jonathan's family residence. It seems, this house has many rooms, but why does Logan live in the villa alone?

Anna is greeted by a waitress in her 40s, taking her to the living room. When he arrived, he stopped, then turned to face him.

"Mrs is in the kitchen. Miss lives here, let me call you Madam," he said.

In kitchen? Um....

"I'm sorry, ma'am," called Anna, stopping the woman's move.

"What's up, Miss?"

"Can you take me to the kitchen?"

The woman did not ask, though curious as to the intent of Anna's request. But in the end, he nodded in agreement, then drove her to the place where Elina was.

The distance between the kitchen and the living room is quite far because of the size of this house, even the kitchen is twice that of the kitchen in his house.

Elina was currently stirring the soup in a pot. The smell of the soup was tantalizing, it felt like Anna wanted to taste it immediately.

"Madam, Miss Anna has arrived" said the maid.

Elina put down her soup spoon, turned around while smiling at her guest. "Hello Anna."

Anna smiled politely. "Good morning, Madam." Then, near Elina.

"You just sit there. I'll clean myself up first" Elina said.

"Yet. But since you've come, let this cuisine waiter alone finish the rest."

"What does the madam want to talk about?"

"On you with Logan" replied Elina while cutting a freshly peeled carrot.

Anna was stunned for a moment. What else is there to discuss?

"On me?" ask her, then grab a peeler knife and a potato.

"Yes, I already know everything about your pregnancy" said Elina, putting the carrot into the boiling broth. "As for your choice, are you sure you're ready to be a single mom?"

Anna smiled bitterly. "Although it's hard, but I'll try."

"What about your parents?"

Anna wails. He had thought about it, but no decision had yet been made about the steps he had taken. "They don't know yet. I'll tell you everything later."

Elina did not speak again for a while, focused on the concoction of her cooking. However, it wasn't long. While sauteing the onions, he said again:

"My husband and I grew up in a dysfunctional family. Father's figure was very disappointing, making us grow away from happiness."

Shrimp, vegetables, then oyster sauce and flavoring are included in the frying pan. Then, Elina stirred it flat. His breath in his face, pensive again while telling the story:

"Eat him, we are determined to give happiness to our son in the future. Even though the husband was busy, he still paid attention to our son, spent time together, and took turns parenting. We argue that the affection of complete parents is very influential for the development of children."

Elina looked over with a smile. He managed to influence Anna. The girl thought about her words, and compared her life to a complete parent who both gave her affection.

Despite growing up to be a stubborn girl, Anna lives a good and happy life without flaws. Yet....

"Mrs, sorry. I know you want me to marry Logan, but the problem is we have different beliefs" Anna said.

"Confidence is not a matter of weight to make two people together" Elina said.

Anna swallowed her saliva. " But from the beginning Logan didn't want this kid."

Elina's motion of stirring the soup came to a halt, then turned her head dumbfounded.

"This child will only know him as a father, but he will never get affection from him" Anna muttered, her eyes scowling.

Elina said nothing after hearing his words. All of his talk with Anna this afternoon was told to Matthew when they were about to go to sleep.

"What do you think, Papa?" ask Elina.

Matthew listened from the beginning, pensive as he thought. It was unexpected that Anna was so stubborn. But he didn't blame Anna's reasoning, because it was likely that it would happen. Pity the baby if Logan doesn't love him.

He took a deep breath, massaged his forehead and closed his eyes.

"Of course."

🍀

It is already Saturday, usually the house will be crowded because all family members are at home.

Early in the morning, my mother cooked. Anna woke up smelling the scent of rendang from upstairs. Finally, he went downstairs, wanting to approach his mother to the kitchen.

However, his steps down the stairs came to a halt. A question that Elina asked back then came to her mind.

"When can I tell Mom and Dad? I'm afraid Mama's illness will recur because of the shock of hearing about my pregnancy."

Tears bathed his eyes. I don't know why he became this way? In fact, struggling spoiled, hugging his mother from behind.

"Anna!" exclaim mama, jerked. "Bikin's surprised Mama's."

Anna was silent for a moment. Free to wipe his tears, if it pooled again in his eyes.

"Ma ...," he then wrote.

"Hmmm...."

"Ma ..f." His voice suddenly choked due to the sobbing he was holding.

"What the hell is that?" protest the woman, annoyed.

"Nothing is." Anna hurriedly walked away, wiped her tears, and tried to act ordinary.

Adnan hurriedly entered the kitchen, leaving mama and Anna stunned.

"Ma, Brother. There's a guest."

A guest? This morning? After turning off the stove, Anna and Mama went out of the kitchen to the living room. There the father and Tasya were sitting opposite Mr and Mrs Jonathan, as well as Logan.

Anna's heart beats uncomfortably, until it feels like it wants to be dislodged. Their arrival worries his heart, though he does not yet know what their purpose is.[]
