Amanda closed her eyes for a moment, wiped her tears, tried to calm down before finally starting to tell a story.

The Flashback

A man lifts the body of his bride into a sling. Just contact the woman put her hand on the neck of the man so as not to fall.

Alan and Amanda have just arrived at their new residence after a long wedding reception. The couple who loved each other entered their new home in a state of joy.

“Alan, I can walk alone,” Amanda said, protesting Alan's actions.

Alan shook his head while smiling widely. “Starting today, you are my queen, Amanda. Of course I'll treat you like a queen. So, just accept if at any time I want to carry you because I don't want you to be exhausted,” Alan replied and then stepped into his new home.

People say that every house is a palace for its owner. So will the house that Alan and Amanda will live in from today. Alan was so grateful that Amanda was going to be the queen of his house. The man was very happy because he had succeeded in intervening his heart.

“I'm so happy that we finally got married,” Alan said as he lowered Amanda's body after they arrived at the room.

“I'm also happy, Mas,” Amanda replied with a shy smile.

“Do you want me to help you take off the dress you were wearing?” ask Alan.

Amanda's face flushed red, imagining that tonight, Alan would see her innocent body. To be honest, Amanda was very nervous at this time because in a moment, she was going to give up all of herself to the man she loved the most.

“No need, Mas.” Amanda shook her head. “I can do it myself. Then, I go to the bathroom first,” said Amanda then ran a little towards the bathroom, making Alan giggle amused to see the funny behavior.

After taking turns cleaning up, Amanda and Alan sat on the edge of the bed looking at each other. Amanda bit her lower lip while bowing her head. While Alan, looking confused towards Amanda.

“Amanda, what's up?” alan asked confused.

“Mas Alan, I'm sorry. But, it looks like tonight we can't do that,” Amanda said regretfully.

“Do what?”

“Our first night,” shriek Amanda. “It turns out I'm coming month.”

Alan's crisp laughter gushed as he heard that. Amanda just blicked her lips.

“Alaaaaan, why are you laughing?” gerrutu annoyed.

Alan shook his head. “I married you not just to do the first night, Amanda. I married you because I love you and want you to be the only woman in my life. I don't care if we can't do the first night today, we still have a lot of nights ahead of us.” explains Alan, leaving Amanda touched by his words.

The man climbed into the bed, then patted the side for Amanda. Amanda did what Alan wanted. Now, they lay side by side looking at each other.

“Why are we not talking tonight about how we struggle until we end up at this point? Isn't that all worth appreciating?”

Amanda nodded her head. “Of course. We fought hard to get the blessing of both your parents. I still don't even think they're finally going to bless our marriage,” Amanda replied.

Alan grabs Amanda's hand, then taps the woman's back. “I promise that I will always make you happy and take care of you even though my parents don't like you,”.

Amanda smiled gently. She felt touched when she heard the words of a man who was none other than her husband. “You don't have to promise because I believe that I will always be happy as long as I am with you,” Amanda replied.

For Amanda, spending time with the people she loves is more than enough to make her happy. The woman believes that Alan's presence in her life will make her feel strong and she will not have to ignore any doubts in her heart about the meaning of happiness.

That night, Amanda and Alan spend their wedding night chatting all night. Not only talking about what happened today, they also talked about their struggle to be together.

The next day, Amanda was preparing breakfast when Alan got a call from someone.

“Halo, don't you know that I'm on my honeymoon right now?” alan grumbled to his secretary. How could he not be upset if he had permission not to work for a few days yet a call from the office was still inevitable as well?

“Sorry, Sir. But, there is something I should talk about.”

Alan sighed. “Good. What's up?” ask Alan at the end.

“There is a problem at the branch office and requires you to go straight down to the field to check it out, Sir,”, secretary Alan said.

“Can't it be replaced first by another employee?” alan asked as he massaged his temple.

“Sorry, Sir. But, things are really urgent.”

“Alright, alright. I'm leaving,” Alan said and ended the call.

A look of regret Alan showed Amanda who was looking at him confused.

“Amanda, I'm so sorry. But, I had to get out of town because there was a push from the office. Can I go?” ask Alan.

Amanda smile. “Surely can, Mas. Anyway, our honeymoon should also be delayed because I'm coming month, ‘kan?’ joke Amanda.

With Amanda's permission, Alan goes out of town to deal with the problems at the branch office.

At home, Amanda's mind suddenly becomes unsettled. What's more, Amanda's short message was not reciprocated by Alan at all. When Amanda tried calling, Alan's number was off. However, you stay calm and think that maybe Alan is too busy to have time to reply to his short message.

The next day, Amanda returned to work as a PAUD teacher. He continued to work even though his feelings were not at all calm.  Even to this day Alan still has no news when usually, Alan always gives him news if he is out of town.

After work, Amanda accidentally met one of her neighbors-in-law who had just returned from the market.

“Amanda, mommy is sorry, yes?” said it. “May you be granted fortitude.”

Amanda was confused when she heard this. Why did the woman give her condolences when she was not grieving?
