Alan is Still Alive

Everyone was gathered in the living room of Johan's parents' residence. They were all waiting for news to be shared by Rizal after three days ago he ordered his man to find out about Alan.

"Pa, how?" johan asked impatiently waiting for the explanation of her Papa who had asked them to gather.

"From what my people got, it's true that the man named Alan is most likely still alive. They often see someone similar to Alan going in and out of the house." Johan said what he heard from his man who was also asked to find out about it.

Manda's heart seemed to be squeezed when she heard Johan's words. If Alan's still alive then why didn't Alan try to find him? Why did Alan just shy away from her? Is it so insignificant Amanda to Alan? All those questions were present in Manda's mind that could only fall silent.

"Did Papa get the same result?" johan asked Rizal who had just joined them.

All their gazes were on Rizal, all waiting for the answer that Rizal would say, an answer that would be a big clue for Amanda.

"Pa, is it true that my husband is alive?" amanda asked to look expectantly at Rizal, hoping that Rizal would answer what his heart wanted.

Instead of answering, Rizal laughed at Amanda's question, and it made them frown at her laughing.

"Pa, seriously!" rebuked Renata to her husband who was still laughing.

"If you ask if your husband is still alive? Obviously my son is alive, Manda. He is next to you" replied Rizal in between his laughter.

"Eh, yes. Papa's right, Johan is still alive. Look at your husband with you" said Renata, laughing.

Amanda again felt guilty, her gaze fixed on the calm looking Johan sitting next to her, but somehow Amanda could see a little blemish in the eyes of Johan who was disappointed in her. How can Manda say another man as her husband at the time of her status is Johan's wife. "I'm sorry," he said slowly grasping the hand of Johan who smiled back, nodding softly at him.

"Your sentence is wrong, baby. You should ask, 'Is your ex-husband still alive?' not exactly your husband, because your husband is now Johan, and Alan is your ex-husband" said Renata who was nodding in agreement by Rizal.

"Sorry Ma, Pa." Manda also felt bad for her in-laws.

"How, Pa? Is Alan really alive?" Johan asked again.

Rizal looked at Manda. "Manda. Papa wants to ask first, to you," said Rizal to make the atmosphere tense.

"What would you do if he was dead or alive?" rizal asked a serious look at Amanda who was silent hearing his question.

"Amanda, answer Papa's question!" sahut Renata awakens Amanda who daydreams after hearing her in-laws question.

"Pa, if Alan's mas is really gone, and I get clear evidence and can convince me, I will definitely mengikhlaskannya," said Amanda.

"Then, what if he's still alive?" ask Rizal again.

"If she was alive, I would be very grateful and I would go after her, regain my rights as a wife and regain my love, even if it was by her family. I just want clarity from her" Amanda said with her head bowed down in sorrow at her honest and sincere remarks from her heart, but knew to offend them.

"I'm sorry if I'm wrong!" he did not dare to raise his head.

"Calm down, there's nothing wrong with what you said" Johan said heartily rubbing Amanda's hand, making the guilt even greater in Manda's heart.

Rizal breathed a rough sigh at his son-in-law's answer because Rizal knew there was a wounded heart behind it all. "Alan's alive!" rizal replied quietly, making Amanda so surprised by the eyes that seemed to sparkle happy to hear it, for a second he blinked his eyes, tears spilling on his beautiful face.

"Mas Alan, really alive, Pa?" repeated Amanda asking looks so enthusiastic.

"Yes, he's alive. And the one you saw the other day, it was really him!" answer Rizal.

Amanda fell silent after hearing Rizal's reply. He recalled the day he saw Alan so affectionate and tender to a woman. Given also how Alan did not care at all when he was kicked out of his house the other day. Amanda covered her face with both hands, releasing the tears between the sad, confused and happy she felt.

"Sir, what's wrong?" johan asked to pull Amanda's hand so that her face could be seen. The word 'Nda' which was again spoken made Manda always feel warm in her heart even though there was also pain because of others.

"Pa, is she married again? If he's alive, why isn't he looking for me at all? Why did he just shut up when he saw me at the Mall? Why didn't he help me when I got kicked out of his parents' house?" said Amanda showering Rizal with a lot of questions.

"That's also what Papa must explain to you, ready or not ready you, you must listen to everything, before deciding to chase back Alan," said Rizal increasingly make the atmosphere that should be more tense.
