My husband is Acute Bucin
Storytelling 2

Amanda ignored the words of her neighbor-in-law. The woman shook her head as she continued to mutter, “No ... Nothing could happen to Alan. Alan must be fine.”

Although Amanda continued to try to think positively, her neighbor-in-law's remarks made her unable to stop thinking about the worst possible situation that was happening. The thought of bad things happening to Alan he could not just ignore. Moreover, from yesterday Alan could not contact at all.

Amanda immediately rushed to Alan's parents' house, which was quite a distance away. His mind would not be able to calm down if he could not immediately confirm that Alan was okay.

Amanda's heart seemed to stop beating when she saw her in-laws' residence crowded with people wearing black clothes. There was a yellow flag flying in front of the house. The sound of her mother-in-law's cries was even heard from outside the house.

Amanda's arrival invites the guests' gazes. Not a few of them are also whispering with the speculations they created themselves about what happened to Amanda and Alan.

The panicked Amanda didn't care what they said. The woman even ran straight into her in-laws' house. Inside, he saw Alan's parents and close relatives sitting on the living room sofa. Her mother-in-law even seemed to cry while hugging Alan's picture figura.

“Ma... What the hell's going on? Where is Alan?” ask Amanda with trembling lips.

Hearing Amanda's voice, Amanda's mother-in-law stood up. Then walk quickly to Amanda.

“What are you doing here? Is it not enough that you give condolences in this family?!” snapped at her mother-in-law, berating Amanda who had no idea what was really going on.

“Ma, I don't understand. I even came here because I wanted to find Alan. I—”

“How come you're still looking for Alan and acting stupid when you're not even attending my son's funeral!” read Amanda's mother-in-law, cut out Amanda's words.

Amanda's head swirled as she heard her mother-in-law's words. The woman's world seemed to collapse that very second. He looked around him, looking at the gazes of people who seemed to question his presence. He could no longer hear the abuse of his mother-in-law because suddenly his ears seemed to stop functioning. Amanda's eyes blurted out before it was all dark and she couldn't feel anything more.

Bruk!

Amanda fell unconscious the second she heard that her husband was dead. Which woman is not shocked to find out if her newly married husband died before they even had a honeymoon? Plus, she didn't get to see her husband's body one last time because she didn't know he was dead.

Fifteen minutes later, Amanda woke up. Upon awakening, he immediately asked Alan's parents about what had happened. He needed an explanation because he didn't expect that he would lose Alan so soon.

“Ma, what really happened to Alan mas? How ... How could Alan die?” ask Amanda while crying. “Mas Alan looks fine before he goes to work. He doesn't look sick at all. Why did Alan die, Ma?”

“You were alone anywhere yesterday to the point that you didn't know your husband died in an accident?” asked her mother-in-law cynically.

“Accident? Alan's mom had an accident, Ma?” Amanda asked back.

“What are you crying for? Don't think we didn't know it was all just acting!” exclaims Alan's father.

Amanda looked quickly. “I'm not acting. I also mourn the passing of Alan as you,” Amanda replied in self-defense.

“Halah! Don't talk much. You weren't home when we wanted to tell you about Alan's death. You didn't even pick up the phone from us,” denied her mother-in-law while staring at Amanda cynically. The middle-aged woman deliberately said so that people would think that Amanda was not a good wife for Alan.

“Ma, impossible. I was home all day. I always activate my phone. But, I didn't receive any calls from you guys,” elak Amanda.

“Where is a liar willing to confess? From the beginning I never approved of your relationship with Alan because I knew that you were a useless woman. Now it's proven, isn't it? You didn't even attend Alan's funeral,” quipped her mother-in-law.

Amanda speechless. Want as hard as Amanda denied, her mother-in-law will always twist the facts. Amanda looked around her, people were now starting to look at her with cynical gazes.

“Basic women don't know themselves. It could be that she did not know that her husband died,” sneered one of the relatives of the Alan family.

“Look, the crying must have been just crocodile tears,” said someone else.

A sneer after a sneer rang out from the lips of the Alan family's relatives. The grief-stricken guests also took a cynical look at Amanda, indicating that they believed Alan's parents more than Amanda said.

Acting blind and deaf, Amanda ignores the speech and gaze of those who dislike her. The woman stood up, and went away from the residence of Alan's parents because she could no longer stand being made fun of in public due to a vile slander from her in-laws.

With tears in her eyes, Amanda walks to the nearest cemetery from Alan's parents' house. Even if he didn't have the chance to see Alan last time, at least he wanted to know where Alan's body was buried.

Amanda's steps felt heavier as she almost reached Alan's grave. The woman fell to her knees beside the tomb filled with flower petals. Amanda's cry broke when she read the name written on the tombstone.

“Mas Alan ...”

Amanda's sobs sounded sad. The woman continued to shake her head, still not expecting that the man she loved and promised to always make her happy was gone.

“Why did you leave me so soon? Didn't you promise yourself that you'd take care of me?” ask Amanda.

Amanda couldn't believe that Alan's departure for work yesterday morning was their farewell. He did not expect that God only gave one day for them to live life as a couple.

Amanda rubbed Alan's tombstone, then kissed him several times as if it were Alan.

“I love you so much, Mas. I hope you calm down there. I promise that I will be fine,” he said. Although he knew, his life would never be the same after this.
