22. Make peace

Rena closed her eyes in light of that long-gone incident. It hurts a lot to remember Alvin's disrespectful treatment of him.

Alina who heard that opened her mouth spontaneously. She was so shocked by what Rena said that she was speechless.

Rena's eyes are now so teary considering her unlucky day. "Since then Alvin has always forced me to meet him if I don't want the photos and videos of the trash to reach Andi's phone."

Rena looked at Alina with her sad face. "I can't do anything, Al." He suddenly clasped Alina's hand tightly. As if he was showing if he really had no other choice but to obey Alvin's will.

"I don't want Andi to see that video and that photo. I don't want to. I was afraid Andi would get angry and cut me off a second time. I really don't want to, Al."

After a while Rena shed her tears to Alina, Alina took off her embrace slowly. Then he rubbed both of Rena's cheeks wet by her tears.

"Why don't you talk to your parents? Wouldn't it be better if you kept it to yourself? This silence of you must make your friend feel if he wins. When do you want it to go on like this?" ask Alina with more than one question.

"I don't dare, Al. I was ashamed of that incident. I also do not want if my papa blames himself for what has happened to me," said Rena bluntly.

Alina breathed.

"Then what do you want now?" tanyakanya.

At the end of such a question, Rena's lips quivered because she did not know what to answer. He wants to be free from Alvin, but he also does not want to be until Andi knows all this. It was enough once Andi decided it was because of one mistake and now he does not want Andi to be angry with him again. He was really confused about how to get Alvin to no longer bother him.

"Rena?" call Alina while touching the back of her hand.

"Aah?" Rena regained consciousness from her daydream once Alina's voice and touch shocked her. He stared at Alina, yet still without a sound.

"You can't just shut up like this if you want it to end."

"What do I do, Al? If I don't want to follow Alvin, he will spread the video and photo to Andi" Rena exclaimed in a trembling voice.

"Then, you have to tell Andi everything before the photo and video is sent to him."

Rena scrunched her forehead hearing Alina's words. Story with Andi? What did Alina mean, he thought.

"What do you mean?" tanyanya did not understand.

"Yes, you must tell Andi everything you have told me. He should know everything from your mouth right before he knows everything from that obscure evidence. As with me, Andi will definitely understand your situation if you are honest with her. I know Andi very well, he's a good man, Ren. He won't be that easy to make the wrong decision if you're honest with him from the beginning, especially here you don't want that to happen."

Alina clasped Rena's hand tighter.

"Tell him, prove that you really don't want all these problems. Prove that you really love her, I'm sure Andi will understand. If you want, I will accompany you to meet Andi. I'm sure he won't be angry with you. He'll protect you from that guy Alvin."

Hearing Alina's words, Rena's eyes re-glazed. He was moved to hear every sentence Alina said. It felt like every word that came out of Alina's mouth sounded sincere in her ears, even felt up to her heart. He was so surprised, why Alina could be this good to him, even though for a long time he always planted a sense of dislike towards the woman.

Rena felt guilty about the woman sitting next to her. He felt that all this time he had indeed been over-exciting Alina with her boyfriend. At this time he was very embarrassed because his bad deeds were reciprocated by Alina with kindness that even made his heart tremble a little. Rena really felt like she had lost her face in front of Alina, she was so embarrassed and felt guilty that her tears were back on her cheeks.

"I'm sorry, Al," said Rena. Then she hugged Alina's slender body with an erratic feeling.

Alina returned the embrace in silence with a faint smile adorning her face.

"It's okay, Ren," said Alina while rubbing Rena's back. "I've never been angry with everything you've done to me. I just want to apologize for not being able to understand how you feel about Andi."

Rena shook her head and took off her embrace.

"No, Al. You don't have to apologize for anything. Here I am wrong, I always act excessively over everything I want. I've always been selfish, I always wanted Andi to do whatever I wanted without thinking about her feelings."

"Here you go, don't cry anymore." (Not singing, though)

Alina again rubbed Rena's wet cheeks.

"Then let's pass. Now all you have to do is, solve your problem with that guy Alvin. Be honest with Andi, God willing he will understand your situation. Do you want me to talk to Andi? She wouldn't dare say anything to you if there was me" Alina said with a little joking at the end of her sentence so that Rena would not be sad anymore.

Rena smiled thinly.

"I'll see him myself. Thanks again, Al. I owe a lot to you" Rena said sincerely.

"Don't think about it" said Alina.

They embraced back with a slightly relieved feeling. At that time Rena decided to make peace with Alina. He no longer wanted to think badly of the woman. Alina was a good woman, she could feel that even though it had only been a few minutes of intense interaction together.

Especially if now Alina is dating Rico. For a woman as good as Alina, she was convinced that Alina would not be able to do anything stupid by betraying Rico. Likewise with Andi who loves him so much, his girlfriend is unlikely to betray his love and also his best friend.

They took off their arms again. Alina looks astonished when she sees a doubtful look on Rena's face. It was like there was something the woman wanted to say to him.

"Why, Ren?" ask Alina.

"Em... You really have nothing to do with Andi?" asked Rena while biting her lower lip. He did not intend to be suspicious since he had already decided to trust Alina. But he just wanted to ask, to make sure that his heart was truly relieved.

"You still suspect us?" alina asked in disbelief.

"Bu–not so. I just want to make sure" he said with a stiff smile.

"Me and Andi are just friends, Ren. I already have a boyfriend anyway. Why am I looking for another man?"

"Do you love Rico so much?" ask Rena.

"It can't be as big as his love for me, but I really love him."

"Did your brother know about your relationship?" ask Rena.

"certain. Even my brother likes it" Alina said with a happy smile.

That certainly makes Rena happy to hear it. Now she's more convinced that Alina and Andi really have nothing to do but friendship. Finally he could breathe a sigh of relief after his heart could believe in a reality unlike anything he had thought before.
