83. Wrong to Make a Decision?

At night at Renaldi's residence, after finishing his dinner, Rico invites his parents to sit in the garden beside his house because there is something he wants to talk about. Just like Alina did, Rico wanted to talk about her marriage to her parents.

"What do you want to talk about, Bang, why does it look so serious" Irfan told his son.

"Look, Ma, Pa.." Rico paused his words for a moment, he looked confused to start his words for fear that his parents would misunderstand his intentions.

"Tell me, Bang. What's up?" santi said to her son.

He could see the doubt on Rico's face, it seemed like his son was about to say something serious, but I don't know what it was.

"Previously Rico wanted to apologize to Papa and Mama if Rico's decision will make you misunderstand."

Hearing the first sentence that his son, Santi and Irfan said looking at each other for a moment, they seemed to have a strange premonition. 

"Rico knows that Papa and Mama are looking forward to Rico and Alina's wedding. Rico knows you must be very happy with this wedding, but could Rico ask you to hand over all the wedding necessities to Rico himself."

"What do you mean, Bang? What does it mean to hand over all the wedding necessities to you?" asked Irfan in surprise. 

Rico swallowed his saliva, he really could not bear to convey this intention to his parents. Deep down, he knew that both his parents would be disappointed with his decision, yet he really could not if he had to trouble both of his parents more than this.

Enough was given to him from his parents. Compassion, sincere love, sincerity took care of him from childhood, to the facilities given to him, and the status he got to this day. 

Even he did not know how to repay all the kindness of his parents. Do not let the marriage that he will walk this adds more burden than this.  Rico felt that all the kindness he had been getting was a burden he could bear because he did not know how to repay all the kindness the Renaldi family gave him.

"Pa, Ma, before Rico would like to thank Papa and Mama who raised Rico to become what it is today. Rico is really grateful to Papa and Mama because your kindness makes Rico like today. Rico did not know that at that time Papa and Mama did not raise Rico as a child, maybe Rico will not be the way he is now, a handsome and smart Rico, has a high-level job, as well as the honor of the people for bearing the status of Renaldi. Rico knows that Papa and Mama love Rico as much as you do, but can Rico ask you something?"

"What do you want, honey? Say, whatever you want we will fulfill," Santi said quickly. 

The words of Rico at that time made his heart beat. He was very afraid of what his son wanted. 

"Ricp asks both Mama and Papa to hand over all the wedding affairs to Rico and Alina, including all the necessary expenses. Long before this, Rico had already decided to finance Rico's entire marriage with Rico's own personal money, Ma, Pa."

"What do you mean finance everything yourself, Bang? Don't you need us anymore?" ask Santi later.

He was saddened by his son's words, as if he no longer needed his help. 

"Ma, Mama don't misunderstand me first, Rico does not need Mama and Papa anymore, it's just Rico wants to be independent with this marriage. It's been enough all this time Rico troubles you guys–"

Rico who saw the sound of his mother shaking then powerless and immediately approached him. She was afraid that this misunderstanding would cause her mother to shed her tears.

Rico sat his body beside his mother, then he held the middle-aged woman's hands together.

"Ma, Mama don't misunderstand Rico's intentions. Rico just wants to make Rico's wedding with money from Rico's hard work so far. Imagine how happy we are when we use our own hard-earned money for something as memorable as marriage. It would be awesome, wouldn't it? Although the event held is only simple, but it will be more memorable than a luxury event facilitated by parents. It's gonna be very different, Ma. Rico sure Mama would understand Rico's intentions. Don't be sad, Rico doesn't need Mama anymore, Rico really needs Mama, really need it, but for this one Rico please Mama understand what Rico means."

Santi looked sadly at his son. 

Yes, he understood what Rico meant, but why it hurt so much when his son was thinking of growing up to be independent. Santi didn't know how to respond to her son's decision, so he decided to leave there and pass to his room. He could not agree with his son's decision yet, but he could not refuse his son's wish either. 

"Ma," call Rico who didn't get a response from Santi. The woman continued to walk into the house and disappeared behind the wall. 

"Dude."

The heavy voice from the papa made Rico turn towards him. 

"Papa don't misunderstand Rico's intentions. Rico didn't mean to hurt you with Rico's decision."

"Papa understands, Bang," said Irfan. "Papa understands what you mean because when he was young Papa also did the same thing. But think again about your decision. You know how your mama's been feeling for you. Very big, Bang. Although you are not the blood of the flesh, but your mother's love for you all this time is not kidding. We've thought of you as our own son, even before your parents suffered the disaster. You know you're the only son we have. If it wasn't for you, then why have we been working so hard day and night all this time. All this for you, Bang."

Rico could only quietly hear his father's words. Is that how much love his adoptive parents had for him all this time? Again, he wondered why he was so lucky.

"Then Rico has to how, Pa? Rico felt that Rico's presence had been bothering you all along. In addition to wanting to be independent, Rico also does not want to trouble you more than that."

Rico lowered his head, completely confused by what his papa said at the time.

"You'd better go back to the room. Ask God for guidance and after that we talk about everything again tomorrow. Go back to the room, it's night. Papa should also approach your mother and explain everything. I hope tomorrow we find a way out of this."

Without waiting for the voice of his son, Irfan immediately rose from his seat and passed to his room to catch up with his wife who he believed was grieving in the room.

Rico could only stare at the departure of his papa with an expressionless face. He felt guilty for all of his decisions. It seemed that his mother was also very disappointed in him who had made this wrong decision.
