40. Waiting for Rico

Not feeling the time passed quickly, now Alina's graduation day has arrived. After months of working with laptops and books, it's finally over today. Graduation with the best grades certainly makes Alina proud of herself. It turned out that it was not in vain that he studied very seriously because the results achieved were very satisfying.

In the midst of his happiness, Alina felt a void when she saw her other friends could laugh happily with family members. While he can only meet his other family –other than Alfian– through video calls only.

"Congratulations, dear. I'm so sorry we can't attend your graduation ceremony" Zara said.

Alina smiled with a smile. Although here Alfian accompanied him throughout the event, but it felt really dissatisfied because his brother always covered his face with a hat and mask. No special photo can be taken as a memento with the appearance of his brother like that. But how else, all this is intentionally done until the time comes.

Ever since she arrived here this morning, Alina had been waiting for her boyfriend to accompany her on this important event. But since two hours ago Rico said it was on the way, but somehow the man had not arrived. His call had not been answered since then and his message was not read either.

Alina who was initially annoyed, now became anxious. She was afraid that something would happen to her boyfriend on the way here. Alina again contacted Rico, but just like before, Rico did not answer his phone call. Alina walked here and there, waiting for the lover who was out of nowhere.

Alfian who saw his sister like a walking iron felt dizzy. Can't his sister just wait quietly? Alina waited so expectantly as if Rico was an important person.

But yes, that's the truth. Rico is one of the important people in Alina's heart today.

"Maybe Rico's stuck in traffic, Al. Let's go first, then tell him to follow up to the studio, just" said Alfian gave a suggestion.

They had been waiting for Rico for more than an hour outside and the day was getting hotter, making them sweat even more. Actually it doesn't matter if only Alfian is hot, but Alina? He could not bear to see his sister holding back the blistering heat just for the sake of a man.

"Wait ten more minutes, Bang. If Rico hasn't heard, we'll just go."

Alfian let out his breath. Not wanting to argue, he also agreed with the words of Alina. Finally they return to wait for the presence of Rico uncertain. But because he saw Alina who fanned her body with the toga she was wearing, Alfian finally invited Alina to wait for Rico in the car.

"We'll just wait in the car, Al. It's very hot here" Alfian said later.

He really could not bear to see his sister overheating under the scorching sun. Although they were on the side of the building, but the blazing sun still made the heat envelop their bodies. At least in the car there is an AC that can cool the body.

Alina and Alfian looked towards their right and there was Rico running towards her with a large bouquet of flowers in his hand. Arriving in front of Alina and her brother, Rico smiled faintly as he adjusted his breath.

"Sorry, Al, I'm late. Tadi–"

"Later clear," Alfian interrupted quickly. "Here it's hot, we just found it in the photo studio."

"You want a studio photo, Bang?" ask Rico stupidly.

"You eat seblak." Rico looked astonished at Alfian's reply. "You want a photo, it's still there." Then Rico roared the horse hearing it. Hot weather and tired because chasing time makes it so unfocused.

Alfian put on his flat face. This is the first time he's been unfriendly to Rico. Not without reason, because he really does not like if there is a man who makes his beloved sister had to wait until the heat like this. No, he's not upset, just a little upset by Rico's delay.

Although Alfian's face at that time was covered in a hat, but the slight look in his eyes made Rico realize that. He felt bad for making them wait for his presence. But he was not without reason late to more than two hours. He had a good reason and it looked like he would explain later when they were already in the photo studio.

"I'm sorry, Al" Rico said guiltily.

"You must give an acceptable reason, Co. Otherwise, I won't forgive you" cried Alina anyway. He didn't mean to take his words seriously, just that Alina was a little upset just like her brother.

Rico nodded his head. Then he gave the bouquet of flowers he held to Alina.

"Congratulations, on graduation. Hopefully, the knowledge you get can be useful for yourself and others."

Alina also published her faint smile.

"Thanks. Let's go, it's really hot here" Alina said later after receiving a bouquet of flowers from Rico.

"Come on. Let me bring ya," said Rico as he grabbed a bouquet of flowers from Alina's hand. Making her boyfriend smile while shaking his head.
