59. Call Mama

Hearing the words that his son said, both Santi and Irfan looked so shocked. Did they not hear wrong? His son has proposed to the woman who is currently his girlfriend? "Then why are you telling Mama and Papa now?"

"Because you want to surprise Mama and Papa" Rico replied.

"Gosh my god." Santi shook his head slowly. "It's nice to know, Bang." 

Then Santi looked at Alina and clasped her hands together.

"Congratulations, dear. Aunty can't wait to see you get married" said Santi excitedly.

"Ma." Santi looked at her husband who called her. "Why did my aunt call him? Not that Alina will soon be our son."

Hearing her husband's words, Santi chuckled. Right, soon Alina will be her daughter-in-law, become her child, should the woman no longer call her aunt, but Mama.

"All right, so now you have to call us Papa and Mama okay, Alina?" santi said to Alina.

Alina smiled hearing that, then she nodded her head assenting.

"Well, Ma" he said later.

"Oh my God, I'm so glad to hear that."

Santi took off his hand on Alina's hand and immediately hugged the woman's slender body. He was really happy with this good news. Alina is a good woman. Although not a year know and rarely meet as well, but he can clearly see the good side of the woman. And making her a son-in-law was one of her wishes when the woman was in a relationship with her son.

Although Rico was not his biological son, his flesh and blood, Santi loved Rico more than anything. Although time passes quickly, but unfortunately for Rico will never be devoured time.

"Oh yes, Al. When did your parents come here? Rico said they'll move here after you graduate, huh?" ask Santi. He who is impatient to make Alina his daughter-in-law then wants to quickly meet with Alina's parents. Hope the marriage process can be done soon.

Santi was about to respond to Alina's reply, but he suddenly recalled Alfian's face that was similar to someone he knew. Somehow Santi really wanted to ask his curiosity to Alina. After almost five minutes of answering the phone, Santi again approached his family who were still in the living room.

"Pa," called Santi as she sat her body beside Alina.

"Why, Ma? Who's calling?" ask Irfan.

"Arisan's friend. They're just reminding me that the gravestone will be done in our house."

"Oh, you asked Bu Ipah for shopping, Ma. All for stock next week. It looks like the fruit and milk in the refrigerator has started to run out" Irfan said.

"Em, if only Mama could shop?" ask Santi for permission.

"Can. Want to go now?" ask Irfan again.

"Em, Mama wants to go with Alina, Pa. Does Papa mind?" ask Santi back.

"Maybe, as long as Alina wants."

"Alina want to come with Mama shopping?" ask Santi also to Alina without disputing the words of her husband.

Alina who was asked such a question seemed to have no choice but to agree.

Arriving at the mall, Santi immediately invited Alina to the market on the first floor.

Yes, Santi deliberately invited Alina to shop at the market mall because she planned to invite Alina to shop for other needs. One of the things that he dreamed of long ago if he had a daughter is doing women's activities together like today, inviting him to shopping together. Too bad he got Rico who's a guy, so that wish he couldn't do. 

But it's okay, he does not regret what he has got because by getting a child he was very happy. And now even though Alina is not her son, she will consider Alina as her real son Rico. Moreover, Alina will soon marry her son and become his daughter-in-law.

In the market Santi only buy what he needs for kitchen purposes only and snacks. She also asks Alina to take what the woman needs for in her apartment.

"No, Ma. Alina in the apartment also rarely cooks. Usually bang Fian who often bring breakfast or Alina order food online if hungry."

"Take a snack, baby. If you're hungry, you won't have to wait long to order."

"This is for you yes. Come on, let's go get some snacks and some other food."

It was as if what the middle-aged woman said was a must, so Alina could only resign and follow in her footsteps while also pushing the basket that Santi pulled from the front.

They walked around the market for an hour. The push basket now looks full of vegetables, meat, cooking spices, and snacks in the form of bread, milk, nuggets and others. After feeling that what they want is in the basket, Santi invites Alina to the cash register to pay for their purchases. Not to forget Santi asked the cashier to separate the items he chose for Alina with different bags.

As the cashier packed his groceries, Santi called his driver who was waiting below to help them get his groceries into the car. And when the groceries were brought, Santi invited Alina to tour the mall. He will take Alina to spend time shopping for their social needs.

Starting from the clothing store that is below to the top they enter. And not a few also made Santi make payments because he felt the clothes were suitable for him and Alina. Not only thinking of themselves alone, Santi also bought some shirts for her husband and son.

After coming from the clothes shop, Santi invited Alina to enter the men's watch shop on the third floor. He bought two watches for two of his dearest men, Irfan and Rico. Then she takes Alina to another watch shop to buy Alina. Although Alina always refused his gift, but Santi continued to force until the woman could not refuse again.

Shop bags, shoes, ties, to make-up they have come, now Santi invites Alina to enter the jewelry store. He wanted to invite Alina to take a look at the jewelry there. But before that, he asked his driver to return to bring their groceries because now their hands have been filled with various paper bags of various types of goods.

After all the groceries had been brought, Santi immediately invited Alina into the jewelry store that was already beside them. Inside there their eyes were immediately spoiled by various types of exquisite jewelry flickering. Ranging from rings, earrings, necklaces, to bracelets are available there.

"Which one do you want, Al?"

Alina looked surprised at Santi's question. Did the woman ask him?

Alina was still silent, yet to answer Santi's question. He made the woman look at him and ask.

"Darling, which one do you want?"

"Aah?" After realizing the second question, Alina finally answered Santi's question. "Em, no, Ma. Alina doesn't need jewelry anyway" replied Alina unpleasantly.

Not that he intended to refuse, but he was really not happy if he had to accept a gift from Santi with so much. Before Santi had given him so much groceries, there was no way he would have to accept jewelry that was not cheap. Alina knew very well how much all the jewelry in this store cost and she was completely unwilling to accept anything out of bounds.

Yes, according to Alina, Santi has crossed the line of doing good to him and he cannot take for granted the kindness of Santi for free like this.

"Come, Al. Mama really wants us to have a couple jewelry. Let's choose, if you don't want to choose, let mama choose for you," said Santi who sounded pushy.

A set of jewelry was already on top of the storefront, where Santi looked satisfied when choosing the jewelry for the two of them. But before making the payment, Santi asked Alina to try the ring in the box and unexpectedly, it turns out that the ring she chose was very fitting on Alina's lentic finger. 

After all that was desired was obtained, then Santi made payment at the cashier table. Hearing the price mentioned by the cashier, Alina was not too surprised because she already knew the price of jewelry there. But he felt very bad because there were other people who wanted to spend so much money for him who had not become anyone in their family.

"It seems like the kindness from Rico all along came from both of her adoptive parents" Alina murmured inwardly.

Thinking about it, for some reason Alina suddenly remembered Rico's biological parents.

What about the man's parents? Are they as good as Santi and Irfan too, he thought.
