"From all the points I mentioned earlier, I suggest you develop a controlling master type!" Nazareth added.
"Controller type?" Evelyn frowned again. His guardian's ideas did not match what he had imagined.
I don't know what to expect!
"You mean, using a protective fairy to control the opponent? A chance to act?" Evelyn asked unsure.
"Yes," Nazareth assured him. "Based on the results of my research, the protective fairy of the weed type of vines can change shape. It was definitely the most suitable to develop in the Controlling Master type!"
"But.." Evelyn bowed grimly. "Plants break easily" he said, lacking confidence. "How can you tie people up?"
"This is the direction of its development" Nazareth said. "Later the selection of the spiritual chakra is in two parts. First, sturdiness. Second.." the man hung up his sentence for a moment and bowed leaning his face towards Evelyn, then added, "Toxic!"
Evelyn's eyes spontaneously rounded. But not because he heard the last word of his guardian, but because the handsome face was so close in front of his nostrils.
"Increasingly, as spiritual power increases, the protective elf will also get stronger!" Nazareth added as he pulled his face away and straightened his body position again.
Evelyn groaned in her heart.
"After you channel more spiritual power into your protective elf, it will certainly become stronger" Nazareth continued. "In addition to the superiority of the spiritual chakra, binding the opponent will not be difficult. Then control the opponent and poison him. That way, you can already create a method of assault. Later secret weapons should only be used on enemy targets."
"Hmh!" Evelyn nodded in understanding.
"In the meantime, that's it" Nazareth said, ending his lesson. "Now, go back to your room and start meditating."
Why does it feel so short? think Evelyn doesn't want to go. Can't it be much longer?
"Tomorrow, early in the morning, meet me here again!" Nazareth said as he moved from his seat.
"Good, Master!" Evelyn was forced to get up and bow, salute the soldiers and pass.
The sky was still bright when Evelyn stepped out.
It's too late!
But the rows of peach trees around the place, plus the big trees at the foot of the hill, make the place always feel cool.
The breeze and gurgling pool water further adds to the cooling effect.
Evelyn walked slowly along the passage while looking around, enjoying the very thick oriental scenery, making her feel as if she was in the far eastern land. A land that only his imagination can reach.
When he reached the terrace of his room, a shadow shot out from the darkness and lunged towards Evelyn.
Evelyn's reflexes were—without her realizing—classed above average, spontaneously reacting instinctively.
Nimble and spontaneous, the girl twisted while levitating a kick towards the attacker.
BUGH!
The assailant was pushed back but did not fall. The mysterious guest bent down to bend his stomach, then jumped towards Evelyn while extending out his hand.
Evelyn grabbed the attacker's wrist and twisted it.
BRUISES!
The assailant finally fell and fell on the floor in a downturned position.
Evelyn jumped up and prepared to set her heel with both legs stretched out in a split position in the air, but the voice of the assailant made her stop instantly.
"Eve—"
Evelyn landed next to her feet while the other leg was still stretched out in the air. His forehead creased as he lowered his head to look at the figure below him.
"It's me" the assailant screeched half grimacingly, then rolled over and pulled up his body with great difficulty.
"I didn't attack you!" protest Altair gasping. "You attacked me!"
"I'm sorry" Evelyn said as she helped Altair stand up.
"Your reflexes are good," Altair commented as she held onto her chest which still felt tight. "And I didn't think you were strong enough!"
"I was born with full spiritual strength" Evelyn said. "So a little stronger!"
"Huh?" Altair flabbergasted. "Full strength?" Both of his eyes flashed with admiration.
"Why are you sneaking around in the back of my room?" ask Evelyn.
"I just got home from the woods on the other side of the hill!" Altair told while pointing at the path on the hillside.
Evelyn followed the direction of her index finger and saw a bundle of firewood on the path.
"I just want to say hello" Altair explained.
Evelyn apologized once again.
"That's it!" Altair. "It's also great for practicing reflexes! By the way have you eaten? Maybe you'd be interested in joining me in the dorm cafeteria?"
"Ah—thank you!" Evelyn. "But I just finished eating."
"Of course," muttered Altair. "You're Lord Vox's Golden Child. Everything must be guaranteed."
Evelyn looked at Altair with eyes squinted. Feeling a bit offended. "Golden boy?"
Altair blinked towards Evelyn and was surprised to find a flash of anger on the girl's face. "I'm sorry, I'm just kidding" he said quickly. Well, actually he's just kidding. Didn't think it would offend Evelyn.
Evelyn did not answer.
Altair turned her face across the yard, trying to shift her uncomfortable feelings. "I hope you get used to it" he said grimly. "In the Academy you'll probably hear that call all the time" he warned. "People in the Academy call you the Golden Child Lord Vox, including the guardians."
"I know," Evelyn said as she bowed. I heard it, he said in his heart. He could even feel the look of hostility in the eyes of the female guardian he met in the registration hall yesterday. "Just I don't think you're following along."
"I'm just kidding" Altair repeated. "I didn't mean to offend you, Evelyn!" He added, trying to convince Evelyn.
Evelyn let out a heavy sigh and forced a smile. "It's okay" he said. "On buying me…"
"Ah, stop!" sergeant Altair. "Maybe next time…"
"Yes, next time!" Evelyn cut quickly. The look on his face began to melt and his smile softened. "By the way, why are you the only one taking firewood?"
"Ah—" Altair smiled clumsyly. "I'm actually a part-time student" he said.
"Murid part-time?" Evelyn widened her eyes, revealing the curious expression of a child.
"I was able to go to school here thanks to a scholarship from the village chief" Altair said. "But the quota is limited to the third semester only. So I worked part-time with Lord Vox to be able to continue school."
Evelyn blinked and stammered. Not sure how to respond. On the one hand, he felt touched by Altair's story, but on the other he feared Altair would be offended if he showed his empathy.
"Lord Vox is very good," Altair told me. "In addition to the large wages, Lord Vox also provides scholarship benefits to all part-time students."
"All?" Evelyn asked again.
"Yes" said Altair. "Besides me, there's actually still another kid who works part-time. Yet each one gets a task tailored to the talents and direction of the development of the protective fairy. Like me, for example, I got the hardest job because I'm a fighter."
That was the lesson, Evelyn thought.
After speaking for a moment, Altair finally pleaded.
