The man bowed towards Evelyn and smirked. "If he can't control it well, then he'll be hit by a counterattack!" hissing with squinted eyes.
Evelyn screeched stifled while smothering her mouth with her fingers, but then blinked and glared at the man. "Why did you tell me this?" He asked suspiciously.
"Ah—ha ha ha!" The man pulled his face and straightened his body. "Just try to talk" he said. "Why are you so serious?"
Evelyn frowned.
"But I'm serious about that crack!" The man added while glancing towards Migi Vox.
Evelyn is back. Trying to guess the purpose of this man coming to him.
As if it could read Evelyn's mind, the man then said, "I'm just a level ten monster fairy," after all. "Where dare I challenge you!"
"But—" Evelyn was getting confused.
"Actually.." the man was suddenly stunned. His face turned grim. "You don't have to kill monsters to level up" he said bitterly.
Evelyn was getting clueless. Increasingly unable to guess the purpose of the arrival of the alien man whom—dia believed-is a manipestation of the vampire fairy.
The man let out a short sigh and relaxed his shoulders with a helpless expression. "I came to pick up our brother" he said, looking around.
Then a number of other bats settled down and circled around.
Evelyn looked up and gasped.
A number of dark-robed men and women like the man in front of Evelyn sprung from the dark mist vortex that landed around the forest.
They all bowed at Evelyn. Their faces were hidden under the hood of their robes. Then they began to squat around bat carcasses scattered on the forest floor, each carrying a bat.
A moment later, they all stomped and flew away carrying the carcasses of the giant bat.
Evelyn looked up to see they were all gone. Then looked back at the man in front of him.
"One day, you'll be hunted like us!" the man said it contained a warning. Then it went around like when it came.
A strong wind defied his expanding wings, throwing them high enough into the darkness to be invisible.
Scents of laughter spread across the night sky as the creature soared high and flew away. His dry and raucous laughter rattled, piercing through the dark void between the rock barrows at the top of the mountain.
Evelyn was stunned to see the void. What does it mean to be hunted like us? thought.
The coughing sound behind her jerked Evelyn from the daydream.
He turned his head and found Migi Vox rolling down from Nazareth's lap. Then he landed and staggered.
"The fox!" pekik Evelyn happy. He jumped at the doll and lifted it. "You're sober?"
The doll blinked at Evelyn with a dazed look like a toddler waking up.
Evelyn smiled and hugged him.
"God!" The doll nodded and grinned.
"Vox.." Nazareth hissed weakly and coughed.
Evelyn rushed towards the man and crouched down beside him. "Master!" call excited.
Nazareth bent down bent his stomach and coughed back to vomit a dark-colored lump of blood.
Evelyn put Migi Vox in Nazareth's lap and took the water bag she found in the storage necklace, then thrust it at Nazareth and helped the man drink.
Nazareth leaned back his head against the tree branch and heaved a heavy sigh. Then glanced at Evelyn and smiled weakly. "You saved me, didn't you?" he asked in a soft voice.
Evelyn chuckled thinly while turning her face away with a blush. "The late father once taught me a little way to neutralize poison" he said. "I saw you pass out. So I don't think there's any harm in trying. The situation is very emergency."
"How dare you!" nazareth pretended to scold her. "You made me your guinea pig? What if I'm not poisoned?"
Evelyn grinned while scratching the back of her head that did not feel itchy.
Evelyn gave her smile while nodding. Then move and walk away, taking a distance of several meters to demonstrate his new technique.
Nazareth looked at him with a haru look. You are the first person who will scent my name after this, he said in his heart. Maybe the only one too!
Evelyn let out a deep breath and linked her wrist in front of her chest, closed her eyes and concentrated.
A bright yellow light shimmered from Evelyn's palm.
The girl turned both her palms in opposite directions, then pulled one of her legs back in the stance of the horses. Simultaneously he also moved his palms and fingers so that they formed the typical symbols of spiritual martial artists.
Shoots of ivy sprung up on the surface of the ground around him in seven different colors, then elongated in an instant, forming tendrils and creeping rapidly to his feet and wrapped around his body.
Evelyn spread both her hands on her sides and the tendrils of the plant crept into her hands. He opened his eyes, and smiled at his guardian.
Nazareth smiled gently, but his eyes flashed with satisfaction.
Migi Vox leaped from Nazareth's lap and looked up at Evelyn in astonishment.
"How tough is it?" ask Nazareth. "What's the peri technique?"
Evelyn turned her palm like she was dancing, then swung it forward.
SLASHY!
The white and yellow light flickered like a line of lightning from his palm, then it crept into large white tendrils scaly like a snake the size of Evelyn's wrist that continued to branch and grow elongated wrapped around a tree like a giant vines. It could be said to be half a plant half a white snake without a head.
"Within fifty meters, I can strike into any position" Evelyn explained.
"Stirring?" muttered Nazareth while frowning.
Migi Vox darted and skipped over the tendril braid as if crossing over the bridge.
"Excess controller type. Toughness is also enough," Nazareth murmured as he pulled his back from the tree trunk.
"No!" screeched Evelyn while pulling back her tendrils and jumping towards Nazareth.
Migi Vox slammed and rolled on the ground.
Evelyn suffocated and smothered her mouth, feeling guilty.
Nazareth swung his fingers and grabbed Migi Vox and pulled him.
"You've just regained consciousness," Evelyn reminded her guardian and leaned back the man onto the tree trunk. "Rest for a little while!"
"I'm better" said Nazareth, pulling his body up.
Evelyn moved along while clutching Nazareth's arm, keeping the man from staggering.
"If I don't guess wrong." Nazareth frowned while massaging his nape. "There must also be a poison property from the complaining dragon?" he asked again.
"Yes," Evelyn replied. "But it only gives a numbing effect. The poison effect of the complaining dragon is not deadly."
"Straining combined with numbness is enough, too" Nazareth said. "Unless the enemy has two more chakras than you. Otherwise, it would be impossible to escape from this snaring technique."
Migi Vox jumped off Nazareth's lap and crept around Evelyn's neck.
Evelyn rubbed the doll's back while laughing. Then carry him while leading his guardian.
"We go back to the Academy" Nazareth said quickly.
"What about your wounds?" ask Evelyn worried.
"It'll be safer if we get out of this forest!" refute Nazareth while gently patting the back of Evelyn's hand that was clutching her hand with the other.
Evelyn looked down at her smile. Shaken by the touch of his guardian.
