Poison Eve

Poison Eve
Chapters-29

"So that's not punishment?" evelyn asked unsure.

"Punishment?" Nazareth raised his eyebrows. "Does standing under a flagpole feel excruciating?"

"Ti--no! That's not it!" sergeant Evelyn stammered. "I mean…"

"What mistakes have you made that you think could make me punish you?"

"I—" Evelyn stuttered. I call your name, he said in his heart. And I also barged into your room screaming.

Nazareth smiled silently as he flashed an amused look. Migi Vox grinned on his lap.

Evelyn was getting deeper.

"Tell me, which part of the body is most vital besides the brain?" nazareth asked after a moment of silence.

"Heart and lungs" Evelyn answered.

"How many hearts do humans have?" Nazareth asked again.

Evelyn was flabbergasted.

"Just answer!" Nazareth.

"One," Evelyn replied half in a whisper. Not sure of the answer. Of course he was sure that everyone only had one heart in his body. It's just that Nazareth's question seems to contain rhetoric.

"Wrong," Nazareth said expressionlessly.

Evelyn spontaneously raised her face, looking at her guardian with a puzzled expression.

"Based on my research, humans have three hearts" Nazareth explained. "The brain in both human calves is the second and third heart."

Evelyn gulped and stuttered.

"My training method does look trivial" Nazareth said. "But if you want to exert all your strength, the three hearts must work in line."

Evelyn bowed with a frown. It is so, he said in his heart. So, he's not mad I called his name? Breaking into her room?

"When you give off energy, it doesn't start with movement." Nazareth continued. "Three hearts are the starting point."

Evelyn listened to her guardian's explanation with renewed interest. This is a theory that many people rarely know, he thought.

"The heart gives off energy, the waist as its axis" Nazareth added. "See this!" Nazareth instructed. Then stand bent with both feet bent due to the low roof of the train.

Migi Vox jumps into Evelyn's lap.

Evelyn watched her guardian with her eyebrows intertwined.

Nazareth began to concentrate, before long, the horse carriage trembled under his feet.

Evelyn was flabbergasted with an astonished expression.

Xenephon frowned at the driver's box, then glanced past his shoulder. The car was wobbling behind him. Suddenly he grinned and shook his head.

I don't know what he's thinking!

Nazareth let out a deep breath and retracted his profound energy. Then he returned to his seat and threw an energy rope towards Migi Vox and snatched it from Evelyn.

The doll thrashed in the lap of Nazareth. Nazareth clamped his chin until he fell silent.

"Back to the second stage training," Nazareth continued. "Have you heard of the Debut Arena?"

Evelyn nodded.

The Debut Arena was the battle arena of the bodyguard-level Spiritual Masters, one level above the lowest level fighters—.

"That's where you're going to train next" Nazareth told me.

Evelyn opened her mouth.

"The training time this time is not restricted" Nazareth said. "When you reach for the Silver-Level Spiritual Master Badge, the training will end."

Evelyn was stunned with an unconvinced look. More than not confident actually.

But Nazareth tried to encourage him. "Following a debutant fight, it's not too bad to go monster hunting" he said. "In addition, you can also earn a lot of money from the Debut Arena!" he added with a defiant smile.

"But there are conditions" Nazareth said. "First, never show your face or tell your real name, especially to opponents. Use a mask or a nickname to fight. Second, do not use secret weapons. Third, whether you win or lose, you have to fight at least twice a day. Of course you can fight more than twice, but you also have to pay attention to your condition."

Evelyn nodded again.

Then Nazareth threw a satin mask with a half-green face of three-leaf ivy. "Use it when you fight!"

"Thank you, Master!" Evelyn bowed enthusiastically.

"And don't wear that uniform!" Nazareth added.

Evelyn looked down at herself.

"We will buy new clothes after arriving in Drizzle City. And as for the nickname.." Nazareth hung his sentence dramatically. "Because of your protective fairy poison ivy, then your nickname.. Poison Eve!"

"Now good call!" respond Evelyn excitedly.

"Alright," Nazareth concluded. "Happy fighting!" said encouraging.

Evelyn bowed respectfully soldier-clenched her one hand on the chest.

Migi Vox grinned widely.

Drizzle City…

Despite the name of Drizzle City, the mysterious old city was not always hit by rain. But impressed always cloudy with a touch of mystical nuance of dark skyscraper buildings.

It is more aptly called the City of Death than the City of Drizzle.

The city looks gripping.

It is clear that they are entering an infinite world with a madness far greater than anything Evelyn ever imagined while still inside her small town.

The first thing he had to do was to gather the equipment Nazareth had suggested to hide his identity.

Even worse, he felt sure that no one was in control of the situation.

Evelyn could almost feel it like a dog sniffing fear at the people around her.

Everyone should always be prepared for any event.

There was no peace on the streets of the City of Drizzle in Evelyn's eyes.

"Contribute to five people ten gold coins!" Someone shouted in the crowd. "There are still less than two people, the power type and the agility type!"

Evelyn watched the crowd with her eyebrows intertwined. "Master, why is this place so crowded?"

"All because of profit" replied Nazareth.

Migi Vox looked back and forth like a curious toddler.

"Spiritual Master is a collection of rich people. They are recruiting people for the team fight in the Guardian Arena." Nazareth continued. "These people came to earn money from the Spiritual Master."

"Why do we have to shout to form a team?" evelyn asked inexhaustibly.

"To get a badge without sharing, it takes an outsider who is not registered with the Order of Angelos" Nazareth explained.

Evelyn turned once again towards the crowd.

"However, the sudden formation of a team like this, does not include a real team" Nazareth advised. "A truly talented team should at least be formed by five parts."

Evelyn turned her attention back to Nazareth. Scrutinise.

"Food type to restore physical condition, recovery type to restore inner strength, type of agility to supervise, type of strength to resist and type of fighter to attack. The team formed from these five parts is a solid team. Moreover, cooperation with each other could not be established in one or two days. And most importantly, the members in a team must trust each other. Otherwise, when met with danger, it was very easy to be defeated in a short period of time."

"Trusting each other?" repeat Evelyn in question form.

Nazareth looked over with a smile. "Sometimes, you might have a chance to join a team like this, too" he said. "So, I suggest, when choosing a team, you don't have to think about the strength of the other members, but one thing you should remember, the team you choose should be the one you can trust calmly."
