Poison Eve

Poison Eve
Chapters-14

The next day…

Early in the morning Evelyn had already met her guardian excitedly.

But again Nazareth only gave him the same command - standing under a flagpole in the middle of a field surrounded by other children warming up.

It seems that the activities around the field have become their daily routine.

But Evelyn.... when am I allowed to warm up like the others? he wondered in his heart. It's been two days here but hasn't had any physical training.

Perhaps the female guardian was right, he thought. Lord Vox is only an expert in theory.

Has Master not forgiven me about yesterday?

It was bad enough to have a useless protective elf who had always been the material of gossip, plus to be the sole disciple of the owner of the academy, now, he also had to be the center of attention every morning for being punished like this.

Unfortunately, that morning there was not a single guardian watching them. And the female disciples started to pile up.

"Eh, you know what? He said the boy was being schooled by the owner of the academy" said the first female student.

"Listen, he also lives with Lord Vox," the other disciple chimpanzed.

"What?" The other students responded enthusiastically. "Try telling!"

"Hard to believe" muttered the first female disciple. "Say the owner of the academy is a female hater?"

"Don't he's Lolita Complex!"

Sounded giggling.

"Surely she was very beautiful," a male student who eavesdropped on their conversation interrupted.

The female disciples simultaneously snorted in response.

"Well--yeah," the other boys chimed in. "I like the new uniform."

Sounds of a nosy whistle.

Actually Evelyn wore the same uniform as the other-coat high-collared armor over white tights and black knee-length shoes. Yet somehow the uniform became mesmerizing looking on his body.

The shape of the girl's body was slim and supple, she had honey brown curls that were fully bunned into an elegant bond at the top of her head. The tiny tendrils of her hairline framed her glittering face and danced around her lace-clad, gold-patterned nape from her high-collared armor coat.

It seemed that Nazareth did not go overboard when he thought that the beauty of the girl was making people insane.

Another factor that makes the girl look stunning is the full spiritual power that is better known in terms of the gift of light. The gift of light does have a considerable effect on a person's aura.

"Hi, Eve!" The senior disciple who delivered the blankets yesterday, Altair greeted Evelyn and walked up to her. "How are you?"

"Okay" answered Evelyn. "How are you?"

"Excellent" replied Altair. "Rest later, come with me to eat in the dormitory cafeteria" he offered. "I'll treat you!"

Other children spontaneously turned to them with round eyes and mouths. Then whispers.

"Thank you, Altair!" Evelyn smiled gloomily. "But I'm not sure if Lord Vox will allow me to leave punishment" he said grimly.

"Punishment?" Altair frowned.

"Ah—ha ha ha!" Evelyn laughed uneasily as she rubbed the back of her head. "I've made a mistake, and... You see?" Evelyn developed both of her hands on her sides. "I stand here every morning while the others warm up!"

"Error?" a female student interrupted them. "Even on the first day?"

"What are you really doing?" Altair asked as he lowered his voice, ignoring the female disciple earlier.

"I—" Evelyn replied hesitantly, then glanced at the other disciple and leaned towards Altair while covering her mouth with a palm, "I call her Nazareth," she whispered.

Altair burst into laughter to the point of attracting the attention of the other students. "Good! You call me Master, and you call him Nazareth?"

Evelyn's face spontaneously blushed in embarrassment. Then hurriedly bowed.

Along with that…

The children stopped running and bowed.

Evelyn also bowed. Altair bowed beside him.

Nazareth stopped and turned his head, observing Altair with squinted eyes. "Have you finished warming up, Altair?" he asked with a probing expression. Next to his eyebrows raised high.

"Already, Sir!" altair replied without daring to raise his face.

Nazareth watched her for a while longer, then turned to Evelyn, "I'm eating in the dormitory cafeteria on the second floor" she said.

The other disciples gulped at the words of Nazareth, stung with envy.

The second floor of the dormitory canteen is a place that can order special menus at exorbitant prices. The exclusive place of elite officials and students.

Evelyn glanced at Altair, then suddenly hesitated. He raised his face and looked at his guardian. "Master! Can I eat with a friend?"

The other students glanced at each other at the Master's greeting Evelyn said.

Nazareth raised his eyebrows, glanced at Altair and exchanged glances with Xenephon. "Alright," he said after a moment of silence. "So good too! Not distinguishing yourself from the others" he said as he turned to his back and folded his hands behind his body.

"Thank you, Master!" Evelyn bowed again.

"After eating, wait for me in front of the cafeteria!" Nazareth told as he passed.

Evelyn bowed once more.

As soon as Nazareth and Xenephon disappeared in the turn, the students rushed towards Evelyn and Altair. Then join them, flock to the canteen.

"So it's true, you're the hostel's student?" one of the female disciples asked Evelyn.

Evelyn glanced at the female disciple with an awkward look.

"My name is Xena Moz" the female disciple reached out her hand introducing herself.

Evelyn shook Xena's hand and introduced herself back.

"You haven't answered my question yet" demanded Xena.

"Right," Evelyn replied without being able to cover up her proud feelings.

But the words of the other female disciples made Evelyn pout immediately. "What's right, you're studying with him? His ability is nothing!"

Evelyn squinted her eyes, casting a sharp glare.

"Lord Vox's age is already twenty-five years old, but it hasn't reached a spiritual master yet!" The female disciple lowered her voice while covering her mouth with one hand. "His protector can't even get past level twenty!"

Evelyn clenched her teeth holding in a growl.

The female disciple sighed in dramatic style, not looking at Evelyn's gurgle. "I'm afraid that a lifetime can't penetrate it anymore either!" his scorn with his jaw looked up.

"Please don't talk!" Evelyn could not help herself anymore, she stopped and turned to the female disciple, trying to imitate her mother's deathly gaze. "This is the first and I hope also the last time!"

The children around him were silent. Some exchanged looks with tense expressions.

"She's my guardian" Evelyn warned. "And he's also the owner of the academy!" it's underscoring. Then he turned to Altair with his nose looking up. "Altair, thank you for your goodwill. But. I thought you better not buy me anymore."

Altair stammered and flabbergasted. Then glared at his friends so they kept quiet.

Altair looked at Evelyn dejectedly as most of the cowardly students slipped away.

Evelyn remained unmoved. Closing themselves.

Altair gave up and turned around, leaving Evelyn with both shoulders hanging limply on her side.

An hour later, Nazareth and Xenephon stepped out and found Evelyn standing bowed, leaning against a wall on the porch beside the canteen.

Nazareth frowned and took a quick glance at Xenephon. Then he cleared his throat and folded his hands behind his body.

Evelyn flinched and bowed.
