"Daughter! What made you come here?"
The horde of vampire fairies inside the cave at the foot of the mountain gasped and scattered, flapping their wings in a huff.
Evelyn slammed into the cave gasping for breath, then slumped and fell to her knees in front of a number of fully grown vampire fairies.
The growth of vampire fairies is the same as humans, starting from infants, children, adolescents and adults. It then stops growing at thirty years of age. The rest, the color of their wings, hair color and eye color represented their age and length of cultivation.
The color of the hair and iris of yellow eyes describes the age of hundreds of years, purple—thousands of years, black-tens of thousands of years, and red-hundreds of thousands of years.
The vampire fairies that swarmed Evelyn were now average black-haired with iris-colored eyes. They are tens of thousands of years old.
"Forgive me," Evelyn hissed in a trembling voice. "I didn't hear your warning!'
The vampire fairies of tens of thousands of years were spontaneously exchanging glances.
"I have killed your children" Evelyn said.
One of the female vampire fairies smiled and bowed in front of Evelyn. His pair of red flaring wings stretched out above his back, the color of his hair and irises was also a fiery red. The female vampire fairy extended her hand to Evelyn. "Wake up, Princess!" whispered. "That has passed need not be remembered. As monster fairies, hunting and hunting are our destiny."
Evelyn looked up and gulped, then blinked her eyes at the vampire fairy doubtfully.
The vampire elf smiled again, then nodded thinly hinting Evelyn to stand up.
Evelyn welcomed the hand of the vampire elf and pulled her body up.
The vampire fairies that lined up along Evelyn's unexpected room turned out to be as vast as the king's palace, ranging from the mouth of the cave to the altar of the throne, kneeling and bowing in unison.
The female vampire fairy led Evelyn up the steps of the throne and allowed the girl to sit on the mahligai.
Evelyn hesitated.
"Sit down!" the female vampire fairy forced. Then sit next to him.
"You.." Evelyn glanced at the female vampire elf sitting beside her who she later concluded was the queen here. "You were the one who spoke to me the first time I came to this forest, right?" ask Evelyn.
"Right," said the female vampire fairy. "My name is Victoria Achiles" he introduced himself.
"You're their queen?" Evelyn asked again.
Victoria smiled and nodded. "So, when exactly did you realize that you could communicate with us?" tanyanya after a moment of silence.
Evelyn bowed grimly. "I'm not sure" he said. "From the beginning I thought you could speak human language. But then it felt silly after knowing the monster fairies did not speak human language. So. I consider myself probably hallucinating."
Victoria smiled thinly. "I can understand" he said.
"When one of your men came up to me." Evelyn continued stammering. "I still think I'm hallucinating."
Victoria flicked her finger and a male vampire fairy who met Evelyn when Nazareth was unconscious stepped into the throne room and bowed towards the mahligai.
"Was he?" ask Victoria.
"Right," Evelyn replied with a grim smile.
"Well, now you've seen it twice" Victoria said, smiling again. "Does it still feel like a hallucination?"
Evelyn gave her smile while bowing. "Forgive me," he repeated very regretfully.
"I'm not sure" Evelyn confessed. "I just feel like I need to talk."
"Then speak!" Victoria patted the back of Evelyn's hand gently, putting Evelyn's hand into hers. "First of all, I apologize for not being able to entertain your arrival" he said in pleasantries. "Our diet is not food that is fit for human consumption."
"I know," said Evelyn. "I didn't come for a banquet. I.." Evelyn bowed back. "The goliath…"
"Goliaths?" Victoria asked with eyes squinted.
"We just killed a goliath" Evelyn tells the story. "But before he died, he said something about my father's death. I—" Evelyn's eyes glazed over.
"Shhh…. Ssssshh.." Victoria pulled Evelyn's face into her arms and rubbed the girl's head and calmed her down. "You can't let go of your father yet, can you?" the whispers are soft.
Evelyn nodded as she wiped her tears with her palm.
Victoria looked gently into Evelyn's eyes and returned a smile. "The magician who killed your father." he hung his sentence for a moment and bowed. "It's the same witch who killed my husband" he whispered.
Evelyn gulped and gasped.
Victoria smiled again. But the light in his eyes began to dim through the bitterness that suddenly rose from within him.
Evelyn's eyes were back in tears.
"Devil's heart plus the bones of Apollo's chakra." Victoria sighed and shook her head. "They thought it would make them reach the top."
"Known?" Evelyn pulled her face away from Victoria's chest, then looked at the face of the vampire fairy queen with a frown.
"The crown of light does not choose who is most powerful" Victoria told the court. "But choose who is most appropriate."
"But—" Evelyn interrupted unsure. "Is not the spiritual level a major factor in reaching it."
"Right," Victoria chimed. "To be able to reach the throne of the kingdom of light does require enormous spiritual power. But the light energy will react automatically to the chosen person. Like you for example, you don't need to kill a monster fairy to increase the power of your protective fairy. You have the Apollo gene that can automatically suck light energy wherever you are. Apollo was the king of light. All the light in the fairy land will bless you."
Evelyn frowned deeper and deeper. "I don't understand!" he confessed.
"The royal throne of light is a genealogical tree" Victoria said, reminding Evelyn of Nazareth's story. "Every person with the genetic king of light has hopes of inheriting the throne, but just like the laws regarding the heir to the throne in every kingdom, there are certainly a number of criteria that must be met. And it's not just about strength or completeness of attributes. But accuracy, for example.the first child is more entitled to be an heir, but more entitled to the king himself chosen through a will. Some even went through a vote. The highest light energy that blesses like Angelos is the highest sound."
"Angelos?" Evelyn murmured while thinking hard. Like Nazareth? he wondered in his heart.
"Yes," replied Victoria. As if he could read Evelyn's mind, he said that although he did not have the light king gene, one could have been the next king of light over the choice of gods through the light energy of the angels—Angelos. "In the fairy world, this kind of voting is called the Order of Angelos. Where one could absorb the entire light element in the universe. A person with this kind of born talent is called the Son of Light. The Light God's Creation."
"The Light God's Spoke?" peekik Evelyn amazed. The words of Nazareth instantly sprung into his head.
"The "kingdom of light is the center of the highest level of spiritual power. It's millions of years old. No one knows exactly how many millions, not even the fairy race itself."
"The axe-destroying fairy tree is actually a genealogy of the kingdom of light. The seat of the Order of Angelos!"
"It was only recently discovered that the spiritual power that blessed me was hundreds of millions of years old."
"And that means I don't have an ancestor who once reigned in the Hall of Light. I was the first to ascend to the throne. There were no humans hundreds of millions of years ago."
Light Angelos! thought Evelyn.
Nazareth is the Son of Light!
