SHAPESHIFTERS

SHAPESHIFTERS
The Part 70

Marco's dislike of Delta diminished much after their talks.

Marco understood Delta's way of thinking, even with just a few minutes with him.

Apparently, Delta doesn't mean to be a bitch, she just follows her instincts to get to know people well, and not just based on other people's stories or opinions.

After they all finished dinner together, while relaxing at home, all gathered while chatting with a light discussion.

No one was an exception, all of whom seemed to enjoy a talk that was not at all offensive about the leadership shift.

"It looks like Delta is fun enough to be the other person" Bella said, whispering to Marco.

"Yes. More or less so," said Marco flat.

On the veranda, there are hot chocolate drinks and leftover cake snacks from Bella's cake shop, which did not sell out that day.

As they chatted, Bella occasionally fed the cake to Marco's mouth.

"Darling... If this continues, none of my clothes will fit and I can wear them again" Marco said.

Bella just smiled broadly, then kissed Marco at a glance.

"Your many activities will easily burn calories from your food" said Bella in self-defense, while still feeding a small piece of cake into Marco's mouth.

"If not wrong, the corn has been partially harvested" chirped one of Adaline's brothers.

"Tomorrow morning we start harvesting it. You guys want to help?" ask Marco.

"Of course."

The voices of some of the people who were there, sounded in unison answering Marco's question.

Suddenly, the sound of Duke barking, broke the silence in the ranch area, and seemed to attract the attention of those sitting gathered there.

Almost everyone on the porch was now staring at Marco, as if waiting for Marco to say something.

Marco just stared at them alternately, without speaking anything.

"Didn't you feel like something was dangerous?" ask Beta.

"I don't feel anything. But, it's best that I check the farm shed" Marco replied, then stood up from his seat.

"Darling! Wait here for a minute!" marco said to Bella.

Bella nodded her head.

"Yes. Be careful!" Bella.

Marco then walked down the porch steps leading to the farmhouse, where Duke was still barking.

Beta and Delta seemed to follow Marco's footsteps, and walked side by side with him.

"You don't have to go, maybe there's just a herd of coyotes coming up to the guardrail" Marco said.

"It's better if you don't go alone" Beta said.

Marco made no further comment, and let Delta and Beta follow suit.

Duke with a loud bark, facing towards the guardrail of Marco's ranch area.

And it seemed to be true that Marco's conjecture, the sounds of growling, and whining like the sound of a strangled dog, became clearer as the three of them approached Duke who was standing near the fence.

"Marco! This is your chance to try talking to wild animals!" beta sounds excited.

Marco turned his head to the side and caught a glimpse of Beta who was exposed to a little bit of light from the farm shed, then looked back outside the guardrail.

It was too dark out there, so Marco could only hear the stray dogs, without being able to see their shapes clearly.

As if someone had taught him before, Marco took off his clothes, and turned into a coyote.

After Marco became a coyote, Marco's vision became bright, and he could see the surroundings clearly.

Marco could see that there were about ten coyotes, gathered outside the guardrail, about fifty meters away.

"Try communicating with them!" beta said, and Beta's words convinced Marco that his assumption was true.

Marco walked over to the coyote horde he could see.

"Is there anything you're looking for here?" marco asked slowly, towards the horde of stray dogs in front of him.

For a while Marco waited for a reaction from the coyotes, but there was no sign that they understood Marco's words.

"They don't seem to understand what I'm saying" Marco said.

"Try again!" beta.

Marco was silent for a moment, thinking about what he should say again.

"Are you hungry?" ask Marco.

"Yes," suddenly came the answer in a different voice than Beta or Delta.

"I'm sorry... But, there are no animals that you deserve to eat here" Marco said.

"They answered you?" ask Beta.

"Yes. They answered my question. Can't you hear it?" ask Marco.

"No," answered Beta and Delta in unison.

"Where should we find food?" ask the foreign voice again.

"At that time, we found a lot of food that was left alone here" continued the foreign voice.

Marco then remembered the two surrogate Alpha followers, whom he had killed at the time.

"Yes. I purposely collected the meat, and left it for you to eat" Marco said.

"But, for now, you still have to wander about foraging" Marco replied.

"good. Then we go first. Forgive us for disturbing your residence" said the foreign voice.

"Yes. If there's any animal I can feed you, I promise I'll give it to you here later" Marco said.

"Thank you" answered the stranger, then the coyote crowd was seen leaving the place.

Marco then turned around, and walked closer to the guardrail of his ranch.

Marco did not know what Beta and Delta were thinking, until they both did not hear his voice, as Marco spoke to the coyote mob.

Marco returned to being a man, and put on his clothes which he simply hung on the fence.

Not long after, Beta and Delta were seen catching up with him and doing the same.

"Can you talk to each other?" ask Beta.

"Yes. Didn't I tell you?!" said Marco.

"It turns out it can. We're the only ones who can't hear them" said Beta, who looked delighted.

"Don't be too happy! Because of the talk, I made a promise to give them food, even though I could postpone it and give it to them at a later time" Marco said.

The Duke had now looked calm, stopped barking, and had reentered the farmhouse, whose door had been deliberately left open.

Marco no longer paid attention to Beta's movements with Delta walking nearby, and simply stared back at the house, thinking about what had just happened.

In fact, the incident was somewhat shocking to Marco, and still made him feel astonished and hard to believe.

It was the first time Marco could communicate with an animal, when he was completely concentrated, and rounded off his intention to talk to the animal.

Marco, then, was so focused that he could not understand what the animals had said to him in earlier times, and only listened to their words which formed a random sentence.

"You can use that ability to help us later" Delta said.

"Yes. I already know. Beta has told me before," said Marco flat.
