The Broken Ring's
Pilu

Erick's hand was shaking. Even so strong his fingers shook, the letter he read was dropped accidentally. His entire life, only this time did he feel a complicated feeling that he could not describe with words. Kalut, but do not know on what basis he felt like that, considering that Lalita had never really considered as a wife.

Soon Erick was looking back for a subpoena from the Religious Court that he had previously squashed and he placed it carelessly. He read the letter again more thoroughly. Starting from three days later, she must attend the first session of her divorce proceedings with Lalita.

"Lalita ...." Erick muttered his wife's name in a soft, slightly trembling voice. He really did not expect Lalita would be reckless to take this step.

Getting a divorce from his wife who had been so adoring, never before Erick imagined it. It seemed like that night Lalita really listened to all her talk with Larisa.

With a body that feels drained, Erick also shook himself to the edge of the bed in the room. A long breath could be heard from his mouth. He was confused and didn't know what to do. Logically, he should feel happy because soon will be separated from the marriage trap that has been so torturing him, without the need for him to do something.

Especially in his letter, Lalita guarantees that this time Arfan will definitely approve of his relationship with Larisa. This should be good news for him, right? But why did you hear that, Erick was frustrated? Once again Erick grabbed his own hair, then scooped his face violently. Now he doesn't even understand his own heart.

The sound of knocking on the door blew Erick's head off. In the doorway that is not closed, looks Bu Risna standing with a riled face that is not much different from Erick.

"I've contacted Mrs' friends, sir. They all no one knows the whereabouts of Madam," Ms Risnah told reporters.

"Lita's friends?" repeated Erick while raising his gaze towards the middle-aged servant.

"Yes, some of the Madam's friends often visit here, so I know them" said Ms. Risna.

Erick was stunned for a moment. He doesn't even know any of Lalita's friends. It's not that Lalita never told me about all her friends, but Erick alone always considered unimportant all the things that Lalita said to her. In fact, Erick always refused if Lalita asked him to accompany her to the event held by his wife's friends.

"Who are Lita's friends who come here often?" ask Erick again to Miss Risna.

"That, Sir. There's Mrs Ziva, Mrs Anindya, Mrs Rumi and one more, Mrs Liana" said Ms Risnah.

Erick looked to be frowning.

"Who are they all?" The man muttered to himself.

"They're her friends Miss Lita. There are friends since High School, there are also college friends. Since marriage, the Madam has cut down on outdoor gatherings, so she often invites them to come here. They're all married, too, so they often come with their kids." Miss Risnah explained.

Erick exhaled a rough breath.

"Why don't I know that Lita's friends come here often?" Erick asked again.

"Yes?" This time Bu Risnah was a little confused as well as astonished.

"Those friends, Lita used to gather them all in this house, but why do I never know?" repeat Erick again.

"What?" Erick frowned again. "I've said that before?"

Miss Risnah nodded.

"I heard it myself, too, sir. At that time, the Madam asked Mr. for permission if the Madam would throw a small party for a surprise birthday of one of her friends, but the Master said it was up to her. The master also said that there is no need to ask permission for such non-essential matters" said Ms. Risna.

Erick was silent for a while. All this time, he had always wanted to quickly end every conversation that occurred between himself and Lalita, which was why he would not mind every single thing that Lalita wanted to do. If asked for an opinion, of course the most frequent answer Erick gives is the word 'whatever' as said by Bu Risna earlier. So insignificant was Lalita all this time to him, so he always put on an indifferent attitude.

"Just give Lalita's friends' contact numbers to me" Erick finally asked, breaking up his conversation with Ms. Risna that felt so cornering her. No, it's not really a corner, but it's so striking that it feels so painful to the bones. It turns out that he didn't care about Lalita all this time.

Miss Rishnah replied with a nod, before then passing from before Erick. Soon, the middle-aged woman returned with a piece of paper bearing the names of Lalita's friends and her mobile number.

"This, sir," said Ms. Risna, handing the paper over to Erick.

"Thank you" murmured Erick.

Miss Risna nodded again, then resigned. Now Erick lives alone, holding a piece of paper given by Bu Risna while staring at the object with a feeling that can not be described with words. Perhaps, it was never imagined in his mind if one day he would find out to Lalita's friends about the whereabouts of his wife.

With his hands still trembling, Erick took out his phone and kept one by one the contact numbers written on the paper. He wanted to directly contact one of the numbers, but then just shut it down. Suddenly his chest felt tight considering the letter from Lalita he read earlier.

I don't know where Erick's resentment and hatred towards Lalita has gone all this time. In the past he always imagined if if Lalita disappeared from his life, everything would be better. But why is it that when all his wishful thinking becomes reality, what he feels is precisely a feeling of sadness that he cannot understand?

Erick closed his eyes while sighing somewhat stifledly. Suddenly a memory was imprinted in his head, the memory of his conversation with Lalita that used to feel so annoying.

"Honey, if I suddenly go and disappear, you'll lose me, won't you?" lalita asked one night as they were about to go to sleep.

"Of course." Erick then replied indifferently.

"Ish, I don't know." Lalita.

Erick only responded by glancing at his wife at a glance. He was eager to answer if he would never feel the loss of Lalita, but of course only in his heart.

"If it were me, I would lose you. Where else should I find a polar bear husband like you" Lalita said. He chuckled to himself as he hugged Erick from behind.

Erick wiped the corner of his eyes that felt a little watery. He himself did not understand, why now considering it all felt so bitter. How could she begin to feel Lalita's presence in her life had meaning in the moment the mask she was wearing had cracked.
