Arfan is unable to speak. His heart now felt like it had been hit by a large rock, making him feel claustrophobic and so difficult just to sigh. He lowered his body and guided Lalita to stand up again. It could no longer be described with words how the middle-aged man felt at this moment. He really felt broken. Lalita's sad face made Arfan's heart crumble.
"Don't be like this" Arfan told Lalita, trying to stay firm.
Lalita wiped her wet eyes and sighed deeply to neutralize her feelings that were now rumbling erratically. Now he doesn't want everything to be the way it used to be. All the unhealthy relationships that Arfan creates, he wants it all to end even though there will definitely be injuries created.
"Don't hurt Erick anymore" Pinta Lalita then no less firmly.
This time it was Arfan who sighed. It was certain that she was difficult to fulfill her daughter's request, given how furious she was at Erick at the moment.
"Not only on Erick, but on Mama and Sis Risa as well. Please Papa don't hurt them anymore" Lalita continued.
Clearly Arfan was surprised and astonished to hear the request of his beloved daughter. Not only Arfan, even Erick, Larisa and Riani also felt a little awkward. They feel that Lalita now seems to know something.
"What do you mean?" asked Arfan while slightly frowning.
Lalita did not answer. He turned his head for a moment towards Larisa and Riani for a moment. He looked at his mother and sister very softly. It was hard for him to believe that they were not the ones who shared his genetics, even though that was the fact.
"Dinara," said Lalita then while turning back to Arfan.
Everyone who heard the name seemed to again show a surprised expression, especially Arfan and Riani.
"He's my real mama, isn't he, Pa?" ask Lalita quietly.
There was a thunderous sound in Arfan's ears at this moment. The middle-aged man seemed to buy his eyes at Lalita's question, as did everyone there. Even Erick seemed very surprised.
"What did you say? Don't worry, Lita!" Arfan denies.
Beyond a doubt, Lalita smiled wryly at the answer from her father. He had already been so much lied to, that Arfan's lie this time really sounded like a joke to him.
"I know everything, Pa. So please, don't try to lie to me again. Until this moment, I still understand and try to understand every play that Papa created. All that Papa did because he loved me too much. But now that Papa is still trying to deny, I will not only be angry at Papa, but also disappointed. I hope, all that charade really ends now."
Arfan seemed to be at a loss for words. For over twenty years she has been hiding the identity of Lalita's real mother, but now she knows everything, out of nowhere. Unimaginable how great the rumble in Arfan's chest was at this moment.
"I want Papa to explain to me why Papa did all this, but I'm not going to force Papa to say it now. It's just that, now I want Papa not to act cruel again towards Erick, Sister Risa and Mama. Free them, Pa. Please don't use them as a tool to please me. They're human, not dolls." Again Lalita stressed.
"Lita, let Mama explain." Finally Riani spoke up. The middle-aged woman got up and ventured forward towards Lalita.
"No, Ma." Lalita shook her head, making Riani stop her steps before reaching Lalita's place.
Arfan himself was still silent, making Lalita draw conclusions if the Papa was very worried, between wanting to express painful honesty or survive with a theatrical mask that has been cracked and slowly destroyed.
Lalita then turned to Larisa. He stepped closer to the older brother, passing Riani just like that. Once again, he stared at Larisa with a rumbling feeling, before then grabbed her two hands of her brother.
"Why ... You never told me the truth?" ask Lalita then to Larisa.
Larisa cannot answer anything. His body froze like a statue so he could not respond.
"If you had been honest with me once, things wouldn't be like this, brother. We don't all have to suffer" Lalita said.
Larisa raised her face and looked back at Lalita with an indescribable look with words. All this time, it never occurred to her to be honest with Lalita, because she thought it would be useless, considering that Lalita was used to getting what she wanted since childhood.
"Although I often tell Big Brother that I like Erick, but that doesn't mean I want to have him by justifying all means. I know, all this time I've been asking for a lot of things that belong to Brother, but I never thought to snatch the man that Brother loves. I'm not that bad, brother." Lalita again mumbled.
"If I knew from the beginning that Brother and Erick loved each other, I would never be willing to marry him, no matter how much I felt about him. No matter how hard Papa is, I will definitely support Brother and Erick."
Lalita wiped away her falling tears, and apparently Larisa was doing the same. The siblings without blood ties seemed to be both trying to withstand the pain in each other's hearts.
"Lita .. I ...." Larisa was about to say something, but was stuck in her throat. Every prejudice and bad thoughts that had been imprinted in his mind about Lalita, now somehow evaporated where. There was nothing left, except only guilt that felt so stifling.
"Now it's not too late, brother. Brother and Erick can still start a happy life together," said Lalita later while re-reviewing a smile that she tried to display as well as possible.
Once again, the words that came out of Lalita's mouth shocked everyone who heard them. This time, the one who was most shocked was Erick. He really did not expect that Lalita would say that in front of everyone.
Lalita clasped Larisa's hand more tightly, looked at her once again with a feeling that was somehow, difficult to describe with words.
"I'm sorry that I've been selfish all this time and continue to hurt you unconsciously, brother." Lalita muttered in a hoarse voice and somewhat shook. After which, he turned to Erick and grabbed the man's hand as well by using his other hand.
Lalita's tears fell. He sobbed for a moment before finally putting Larisa's hand and Erick's hand into his grasp.
"I'm sorry for separating you." Lalita said with a stuffing that sounded increasingly becoming.
