The Broken Ring's

The Broken Ring's
Zayn's Secret

"What do you want to talk about, Zayn?" Larisa asked breaking the silence. Currently, they had been sitting in a corner of a cafe, not too far from the Baskara family residence.

Zayn turned towards Larisa for a moment. There were many things that the man seemed to be trying to convey, but was held back for some reason.

"If you want to take back your words that were about to propose to me, there's no need to bother coming to see me like this. You could call. Or just send a message is enough," said Larisa again, trying to look okay.

"It's not so ... I'm really sorry for my reaction the other day." Zayn finally let out his voice.

"It's okay, Zayn. After all, you're not the first person to react that way after knowing how I really am" Larisa said.

"No, Risa. I really didn't mean it that way."

"Zay." Zayn." Larisa looked at Zayn with a pleading face, as if asking that the man not say anything more. He was afraid of getting hurt if he heard Zayn trying to find excuses.

"Risa, I was surprised to hear your confession the other day, but what made me not know how to behave at that time, was not the truth about you, but your courage to tell me that" Zayn said.

Larisa slightly frowned.

"I don't know what exactly to say" he later said.

"It's not just you, Risa. I also ...." Zayn sighed for a moment. "I also have a dark side."

"Yes?" Once again Larisa frowned not understanding.

"I also have a bad thing that I try to hide from everyone, Risa. Even to you, the woman I wanted to make a life companion to, I had no intention of telling her either. I think it's better to look dignified in front of you. If I'm honest, I'm afraid you won't give me a chance." Once again Zayn sighed.

"I didn't expect, you just dared to tell me the truth about your situation," Zayn added.

"I had to say it from the beginning, because if we were really married, it would also be revealed. I don't want to let you down after a bond. You better know before." Larisa.

"Things I try to hide will also gradually be discovered if we get married, but I still have no desire to tell you. At least until I marry you. That's what I thought before. But your honesty yesterday has really slapped me hard. That's why I don't know what to react to."

Larisa was silent for a moment, trying to digest what Zayn told her.

"What secrets are hiding?" ask Larisa later.

Zayn did not answer. He looked at Larisa for a moment, then made a look in the other direction while sighing deeply once again.

"I ... have a child," Zayn said somewhat stifledly.

For the third time Larisa showed a clueless expression.

"You mean, you've been married before?" Larisa.

"No." Zayn. "A child born without marriage ...."

"One night stand, you must have heard that term, right?" Zayn begins his story with an expression that is difficult to explain.

"I spent the night with a girl accidentally. We are both unconscious and know-how waking up in a state that .. you know yourself." Zayn smiled wryly as he sighed for the next time.

Larisa kept quiet and listened, not interrupting at all.

"After a month, the girl came and said she was pregnant with my son. Of course I can't believe it because after I investigated, the girl wasn't a good girl. Many have been victims of fraud. But she was actually pregnant. He also insisted that I was the father of the child he contained. I still couldn't believe it, so I did a DNA test on her fetus after fifteen weeks. And as it turns out, that fetus is indeed my son ...."

Zayn closed his mouth for a moment, while Larisa was still listening while looking at Zayn with a complicated feeling.

"You know how I felt back then, Risa? I'm very confused. I didn't even know her, but she kept demanding that I marry her right away. I feel like he set me up on purpose. The girl planned it all. I refused to go into his trap, but on the other hand I also could not escape responsibility because after all the child he contained was my flesh and blood. So I hid the girl while thinking what I should do."

"Then you didn't marry her to the end?" Larisa finally asked after being silent.

Zayn shook his head while lowering his gaze.

"I was too prejudiced about the girl, so all I thought about at that time was how I could get away from her. You know how my family so upholds a good name. If the girl's whereabouts as well as her involvement with me were to be known to outsiders, it would be a scandal that would destroy my family's image. My mother was the only one my family knew. He asked that I could find a way out without being known by other families, especially my father," Zayn said.

"So that girl really set you up on purpose?" ask Larisa again.

Once again Zayn shook his head. This time his facial expression turned extremely cloudy.

"Everything that happens is purely an accident. But unfortunately, I found out about it when it was too late. The girl died giving birth to my son. She's bleeding badly and ....." Zayn could not continue his words. He rubbed his face violently. An expression of regret and guilt was clearly visible on that face.

This time it was Larisa who let out her breath. It was unexpected that Zayn kept a secret so stifling as this.

"And what makes me even worse, it turns out that this girl has only been a pawn of others. She was used by the people who took care of her since childhood. He committed fraud before not of his own accord, but of pressure from others." Zayn added again.

"Then the child she gave birth to?" Again Larisa asked.

"I put him in an orphanage" Zayn replied.

Mata Larisa sontak.

"I have no choice. That's the only way out I can think of. I put him in that orphanage because he knew his caretaker well. I make a small donation every month to the orphanage with a note, my son should not lack anything and he should not be adopted by anyone, because someday, someday, I will adopt it myself. That's the way I thought about it in my head to be able to legally carry it without anyone suspecting it." Zayn muttered with a gaze that pointed straight ahead.

"Risa," called the man then while looking towards Larisa.

"From the beginning, I deceived you by not intending to tell you about my son's whereabouts. Now you know, I'm even worse. Even though I didn't do it all on purpose, I didn't have the courage to be honest with you, but I wanted to make you a friend. I know, Risa, I'm really not a decent guy. I'm a coward, but every day I live my life pretending to be the bravest. Then do you still want to consider this cowardly man?"
