The Broken Ring's

The Broken Ring's
The Hope Behind Opposing Attitudes

Arfan was stunned without being able to say anything. There were many things he was trying to digest right now. First, Lalita's attitude changed drastically in front of her, then also her daughter's remark about Riani. These two things were something that had never been in his mind all this time, especially what Lalita said about Riani. That woman loves herself? Almost Arfan choked on his own saliva hearing that.

"Lita, Papa doesn't know why you're saying such an absurd thing. Papa will assume you are just the origin of talking, so Papa will pretend not to hear anything. Now, let's go with Papa home," Arfan said then after being silent for a long time. His tone sounded lower than before, but it remained intimidating.

"Will Papa really continue to behave like this? Papa will still only hear what Papa wants to hear and close his ear to what Papa does not want to hear, even though it is the truth?" ask Lalita.

"Didn't Papa always say that Papa just wants me to be happy? But all Papa's actions why not synchronize with Papa's words? What Papa did was not to make me happy but to Papa's own satisfaction. Papa look now, am I happy with what Papa's been doing all this time? No, Pa. I'm not happy. It felt like Papa was just treating me like a beautiful doll. Even on my feelings, Papa doesn't care! Bulshit that Papa said he wanted me to be happy!" lalita cried again with a bit emotional. Like a time bomb, Lalita exploded after previously used to soak every thing that makes her chest tight and cover it with a cheerful attitude.

Sweet Lalita seems to be no more. He was dead along with fact after fact he found and almost all of the life he lived was lies and fabrications.

"Lita! Don't be so rude!" Arfan is getting windy.

"Why would you curse me an ungodly child? Just tell me, it's okay. Because now I am a bad boy! But Papa must remember, who taught me to be merciless and heartless is Papa himself."

Arfan's eyes are perfectly rounded. He really did not expect that sharp and piercing words could come out of the mouth of Lalita, the daughter he knew so well. That made him look a little into the past and try to remember how to educate Lalita so far. Ironically, not a single bit of Arfan found a memory where he taught good things to the princess. Riani did it all. Even vaguely Arfan remembers how Riani used to teach little Lalita to pray every time she wanted to eat and sleep. Yes, the woman who had been considered lowly and the value in her eyes was nothing more than a caregiver had actually played a big role in educating Lalita.

Arfan finally admitted in his heart if his role as a parent had been much he left to Riani. All this time, she wanted Lalita to grow up well, without getting too involved in each process. He always thought that the money he had was enough to make the princess happy, including by using the money to organize the lives of others to always be beside Lalita. Yes, Lalita's sharp words just managed to slap Arfan and awaken him to his mistake all along. However, of course his ego was too big to admit wrong before the princess.

"Sorry, Pa. Like I said before, I don't want to go home with Papa. I'm not going to go with Papa by stepping on my own feet. If Papa insists on taking me home, please ask Papa's people to drag me. I will definitely not be able to fight again and everything will go according to Papa's wishes as usual. But Papa must know, right now my heart is really hurting. Not only because of Erick, but it was the biggest wound I felt because of Papa. I just want Papa to realize that what Papa's been doing all this time is wrong, but Papa still seems to feel like he's doing the right thing under the pretext for my happiness." Lalita again muttered in a lower tone. His voice sounded very sad and filled with pain.

Arfan's lips are tightly clenched. His eyes were staring at Lalita, but there were no words he could speak. Only his hands seemed to be clenching strongly.

"I want Papa to treat me like a human, not a puppet. I have my own desires and have the right to decide my own way of life. I don't want to live with the scenario Papa made. Papa is not God who can manage everyone's life at will, even though I am Papa's own son" said Lailta.

Arfan's chest seemed to rise and fall restraining all the emotions that were now filling him. Of all the unpleasant things in this world, getting resistance from his only puppet princess is something that makes him the most angry. Arfan is indeed the type of person who is very intolerant of what is called insubordination.

"Alright, from now on, live according to your will there. Papa wants to see what you can do without Papa. Looks like you must be made aware first if your life depends on Papa. Precisely because living in the rules of Papa, you can live happily. Now let's see how you go ahead without the luxury of Papa!" Again Arfan brought luxury as a threat, as if everyone around him would not be able to survive without the luxury.

"Look at it, Lita. You're a nobody and you can't do anything without Papa!" Arfan lashed out, then got up and left Lalita's room with all the anger in his heart. She didn't manage to bring her daughter home well, so it seemed like she was going to let Lalita feel life without her support for a while.

Meanwhile, after Arfan, Lalita herself seemed stunned by the warm clear fur that again fell soaked her cheeks. The young woman was crying in silence. Really, there was nothing that hurt him the most but to hurt the man who became his first love. The father who when he was a child he thought of as a superhero.

"Papa's right, Pa. I'm a nobody and can't do anything without Papa" muttered Lalita as she wiped her tears.

"I never intended to leave Papa. I promise I will always be by Papa's side, even when Papa has nothing left and everyone will be Papa though. But now, I want Papa to understand what compassion really means. I want Papa to understand that making a loved one happy doesn't have to be about hurting someone else." Lalita wiped her tears back.

"Hopefully alone and feel lonely for a while, Papa can realize if the path that Papa chose so far is wrong ... I really want to go back to Papa if Papa has realized everything ...."

Patience, gaesss, the same father of the storm will not be long, because they have a bond that can not be broken by anything. Btw, all the characters in this story are not perfect, yes. Everything has plus minus each, and so does Lalita. He has a bad side behind all his good qualities, which is naive. But all the characters will evolve over time. So enjoy the development in the next parts.
