The Broken Ring's

The Broken Ring's
Hope Lalita

Lalita entered into a contemporary restaurant that looked crowded at that time, because indeed his arrival coincided with lunch hour. He chose a look to sit at the corner while looking around, as if someone was looking for him.

"Order what, sister?" A waitress came over and asked Lalita. Maybe because it carries the concept of young people, every visitor who comes will be called a brother, whether it is old or young. But indeed the average who eats there is among students, because not far from the place there is a campus.

"Attent." Lalita looked at the menu for a moment, then ordered a serving of food and drinks for herself.

"alright. Wait a minute, yeah, brother." The maid smiled before then passing from before Lalita.

Lalita looked around again. His eyes were finally fixed on the figure of the young girl who came from the direction of the back room and immediately joined at the cashier table. He seemed to be chatting with the cashier on duty, while occasionally pointing towards the cash register. It looks like I'm telling you something.

The girl Lalita was looking at was none other than Shelin, one of the employees who worked at Erick's restaurant. Yes, Lalita is currently planning to have lunch at her ex-husband's place because she wants to see Shelin.

"This, Brother, the order." Lalita stuttered a little when she heard the waitress talk to her. Apparently the order has come.

"Please enjoy" said the waitress after finishing placing Lalita's order.

"Yes, thank you." Lalita responded with a smile. He decided to fill his stomach first before Mrnghampiri Shelin.

It didn't take long for Lalita to finish the food and drink she ordered. When he finished, he got up to pay the bill to the cashier. It just so happens that currently Shelin is still visible there.

"Hi, Shelin, right?" Lalita greets Shelin after paying.

Shelin looked up and was a little surprised when she realized who was in front of her at the moment.

"Mother Lita, Kalan's mother?" Shelin.

Lalita nodded with a smile.

"Have a minute?" ask Lalita.

"Yes?" Shelin looks a little confused.

"I want to talk to you for a minute. Not long, though. Just five minutes" said Lalita.

"Oh ...." Shelin still showed a dumb face. He still did not expect to see the figure of his boss' ex-wife here, about to talk to him anyway. What is it?

"alright. Come with me, Mom. We go to the side" said Shelin at last.

Lalita agrees, then follows Shelin to a place on the side of Erick's restaurant building. It seems to be a place where the employees rest, because there are several chairs and also a sofa there.

"Please sit down, Mom. But sorry, I can't take long" said Shelin politely.

Lalita sat down with a smile.

"I'm the one who's sorry for bothering you at work. I came here actually just want to give this," said Lalita while thrusting a paper bag that since from the carrying.

"This ... what?" shelin asked as she accepted the thing with some hesitation.

"Take a small gift as my thanks" said Lalita.

"Thank you?" Shelin doesn't seem to understand.

Shelin did not digest Lalita's words.

"Oh, that. I accidentally came because Mr. Erick asked for the financial statements of the restaurant to be delivered to his house. When I arrived, it turned out that Mr. Erick had a fever." Shelin explained. "That's nothing, Mom. There is no need to give a gift like this."

"It's okay. Anyway I thank you. That's not a big thing either. Just the stuff we wear everyday." Lalita said with a smile. "Thank you for taking care of Kalan that day, yeah."

Shelin paused for a moment, before finally nodding. Not to forget, he also thanked Lalita.

"Then I say goodbye. I'm sorry for interrupting your time." said Lalita.

Shelin nodded as she hugged the paper bag Lalita gave her. He stared at Lalita's departure with an expression that was difficult to explain, before then he also returned to the cashier's table.

Meanwhile, Lalita who was walking in the parking lot seemed to stop her steps when she passed someone who was a second and just got out of the parked car. Who else is Erick. The man seemed to have just returned from somewhere.

"Lita?" mumbling Erick. He seemed to show a surprised face.

"Oh, hi. I just finished lunch at your restaurant" said Lalita with a smile.

"Lunch at my restaurant?" reset Erick. Lalita accidentally coming to lunch at her restaurant was an unimaginable thing before.

"Yes. Actually I came to say hello to Shelin," said Lalita again.

Erick was silent for a moment. Once again Lalita said something unimaginable to her.

Lalita and Erick end up chatting at a place not far from Erick's restaurant. After the divorce, this was their first time sitting side by side, talking together without any Kalandra between them.

"It's time you opened your heart again, Erick. Sorry, if it seems too interfered," said Lalita while sipping a drink in her hand.

Erick did not answer. The man looked straight ahead.

"I'm happy with Rainer. Risa's sister is also happy with her husband. You no longer need to be burdened with the past, because even though it hurts, all of it has passed. Don't keep getting worse for it." Lalita added again.

Only a sigh could be heard coming out of Erick's mouth in response to Lalita's words.

"Everything may not be forgotten, Erick, but at least it doesn't hurt anymore when remembered. Learn to forgive yourself." Lalita returned sincerely.

"Thank you for saying that, Lita," Erick murmured finally in a heavy voice and filled with millions of emotions. Her chest was shaking violently. After a long time of holding all the guilt alone, now he heard the words of comfort from someone he had hurt so much. His feelings? I don't know.

"Sister and I are happy. It is time to welcome your happiness too. Do not continue to drown yourself in solitude, because having a friend is much better," said Lalita.

Silent. No one spoke anymore after that. Lalita was silent because she felt she had enough to talk, while Erick himself held back so that the turmoil in his chest did not get bigger. The story between him and Lalita is over, but his feelings for his ex-wife are still neat. Then could it be that he could re-knit the story with someone else?

Lalita turned her head, then smiled back at Erick.

"One thing you must remember, Erick. You deserve to be happy too." Lalita spoke again, before finally passing from before Erick. A heartfelt greeting that implies a wish for the ex-husband.
