The Past - Part V

"Who's there?!" exclaimed a large man, looking ahead.

Suddenly, the man who had already injured one of them just now, stood up and looked at them with a flat face.

"Xyon?!" hyerin exclaimed with teary eyes.

The atmosphere was very tense, as the two big-bodied men and Xyon, were staring at each other with sharp eyes.

"Take off the girl well, then I won't hurt you guys" Xyon said with a serious face this time, still clasping his cosmic sword.

The man who was hugging Hyerin suddenly took out a folding knife from inside his pants pocket quickly and directly aimed it under Hyerin's neck until Xyon glared while holding back her emotions.

"Xyon, get out of here! You're alone, while the two of them!" hyerin said slowly as he looked at the young man with a sad face, with a small knife that was threatening his life.

Xyon let out a long sigh, then he raised his cosmic sword forward, and said, "Just hand the girl over to me, because you will not be able to win against me."

The big-bodied man standing beside Hyerin let out a small laugh, then exclaimed, "Who are you, brave man? Hand this girl over to you? Hey, this pretty girl belongs to us now. We've been after him for three days. Your little body can't possibly win against us, fool! Get ready!”!

But Xyon looks very calm because he knows that his small body actually provides many benefits. The man suddenly ran up to her and started to brutally attack her. Too bad for the big-bodied man, Xyon could always avoid all the brutal attacks directed at him.

"Xyon, this is dangerous for you! Go!" hyerin shouted as he began to hold back the cries while still paying attention to the fight.

The big-bodied man still attacked Xyon sadistically and almost killed him, but because the young man was very agile and could withstand all his attacks, the man began to get tired until he was caught off guard.

“Damn it!” whispered the big man.

Xyon immediately saw the opportunity. He managed to injure the man's lower abdomen with his cosmic sword, until the man fell on the ground.

“Ahh!!” the man shouted with blood that began to flow from inside his wound.

The bodyguard from Palladina then looked towards the man who was hugging Hyerin. The man began to fear, until he began to walk back slowly while still threatening Hyerin's neck with his pocket knife. However, the large tree behind him made its retreat stalled.

"Don't come any closer, or this girl …. I'll kill this girl!!" exclaimed the man with trembling lips.

"Just take it if you can," said Xyon still with a flat face, then he quickly raised his cosmic sword, then threw the sharp object towards the man.

"Aghhhh!!!!" shouted the big-bodied man after his arm was pierced by Xyon's cosmic sword to penetrate from front to back.

He then released Hyerin from his arms, then fell down and finally fainted on the ground. Blood started to pour out from within his stab wound, and Xyon's cosmic sword that had already pierced the man's arm suddenly disappeared, turning into fine dust.

Hyerin was very surprised after seeing the fight, especially as soon as she saw Xyon's cosmic sword which she thought was magical. He even covered his mouth with both hands while glaring sharply at the young man.

He then approached Hyerin, then took the girl's hand and invited her to run out of the small alley. Both of their faces looked red. Xyon continued to run with the black-haired girl's hand with a heart that was beating very fast, even though he did not know the purpose.

"Xyon! Actually, who are you? Why did the sword suddenly disappear and turn into dust?! Are you a witch?!" hyerin asked with a face that looked still surprised by the incident just now.

"I am a magician who likes to fight," Xyon replied while still holding Hyerin's hand, until the girl gave a small smile hearing the answer from him.

They ran until they finally arrived at the edge of the small town. The two then stopped their steps and stood beside the beautiful large lake there. The orange sky makes the view even more interesting to see. Xyon then removed his grasp from Hyerin's hand, then looked at her with a reddened face.

"I've hurt those men and they're gonna start figuring out who I am. I'm sorry I've taken you too far" said Xyon softly.

Hyerin smiled, then replied, "Thank you for saving my life, Xyon. The owner of the restaurant actually asked me to come home from work early so I wouldn't see them again. But I really didn't think they would come after me. Thank you once again.”

Hyerin's smile made Xyon's heart beat faster.

"A, Hyerin. You helped me out yesterday with the key to my room door, and I promised to answer for it" Xyon said with teary eyes.

Hyerin smiled again, this time wide. Xyon started to be confused by what he should do after staring at the black haired girl deeply.

"Hyerin, you need to be more careful going forward. You look very friendly to the customers at the restaurant, but that hospitality could be a double-edged sword for you,” whispered the young man after thinking about the many words he wanted to get out of his mouth.

Hyerin's face flushed red after listening to the remark. They then fell silent for a moment.

"Ah, thank you once again, Xyon. You saved my life. I'd better get back to the inn now" Hyerin replied.

He was about to walk, but Xyon suddenly clasped his arms until he had to look back and look at the young man with a confused face.

"What's up, Xyon?" ask the girl slowly.

"I'll accompany you back to the inn, so you won't have to worry about those annoying men anymore" Xyon replied slowly, saying, then he let go of Hyerin's arm because he realized that he shouldn't have done that.

Hyerin smiled, then she nodded. They then walked together to return to the inn, but Xyon stepped behind Hyerin until the girl began to feel uncomfortable.

"Walk next to me, you're not my bodyguard, so don't walk behind me" Hyerin said, looking back.

"Ah, I'm sorry, this is a habit," Xyon replied.

He walked next to Hyerin after that. The faces of the two of them looked flushed, and even because of the awkwardness, they had not spoken at all for a while.

In the end Hyerin broke the silence between the two of them by asking, "Xyon, are you really a magician, or a fighter? Looks like you're very good at swinging that sword."
