Prophet Ayub alaihissalam

Ayub alaihissalam was born in 1540 and died in 1420 BC. He lived to the age of 120 in the Hauran Plain.

During his lifetime, the Prophet Ayub alaihissalam preached to the so-called Aramites and Amorites who inhabited the area of Jordan and Syria.

The name of the Prophet Job alaihissalam is mentioned up to 4 times in the Quran. Prophet Ayub alaihissalam had 26 children, one of whom was Prophet Dzulkifli alaihissalam.

The Story of Prophet Ayub alaihissalam: The Beginning of Life

The Prophet Job alaihissalam was known as the Prophet and Apostle who was endowed with abundant treasures, numerous descendants as well as a strong body. It has a lot of livestock and a lot of land.

Even so, all these blessings given by God do not even make him arrogant and takabur. The Prophet Job alaihissalam remained humble and always thanked Allah for the blessings given.

The Story of the Prophet Job alaihissalam: When Receiving the Examination

Allah tested the patience and piety of the Prophet Job alaihissalam by drawing all the pleasures of the world in the form of children, property and health.

Ayub alaihissalam was poor and all his descendants died. Even his whole family stayed away because of the pain he suffered. Only his wife and 2 brothers took care of him.

The body of the Prophet Ayub alaihissalam was so weak that he needed his wife just to defecate.

The disease that attacked him gnawed all over the body until not a single pore was left unturned, except the heart of Prophet Job.

It is said in the hadith that the Prophet Job alaihissalam suffered from a disease for 18 years as narrated through Anas ibn Malik.

“Verily the Prophet Ayub alaihissalam was in his test for eighteen years. Both the immediate family and the distant family rejected him except for two brothers from his brothers. It was the two brothers who always fed him and met him.”

prophet Job Alaihissalam's Story: Allah Heals the Prophet Job

The healing of the Prophet Ayub alaihissalam was a great miracle moreover he recovered in a very short time. The healing of Prophet Job is narrated in the Quran Surah As – Shad 41 to 43.

“And remember to Our servant Ayyub when calling on the Lord his –. Verily I am plagued with satan and torment.”

(God says), “Hant your feet; this is cool water for bathing and drinking.” And We grant him (by reassembling) his family and (We add) them as much as they also as a mercy from Us and a lesson for those who have a mind.”

The Prophet Ayub alaihissalam carried out the commandment, which was to stomp his feet to the ground. At once water emanated from the land that the Prophet Job used to drink and bathe. Allah gave healing to the Prophet Job through the water.

Before recovering, the Prophet Ayub alaihissalam had vowed to whip his wife as much as 100 lashes because there were actions his wife considered wrong or unpleasant by him.

To fulfill his vow in the form of whipping his wife when he was healed, God provided convenience by replacing 100 times the whip with a bundle of straw once a blow.

Previously, the Prophet Ayub alaihisisalam had felt heavy to carry out this vow because he did not have the heart to his wife who had accompanied him every time he was sick. The ease that Allah gave to the Prophet Job alaihisisalam related to his vow can be seen in the Quran letter As – Shad verse 44.

“And take with your hand a bundle (grass), then strike with it and do not break your oath. Verily, We have found him (Ayyub) a patient man. He is the best servant. Verily he is very obedient (to his Lord).”

From this verse we also learn that the punishment of an unmarried adulterous person in the form of a whip can use the way it is done like the Prophet Ayum alaihisisalam.

This consideration can be taken when the person to be whipped is very weak and is sick. The Prophet shalallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam himself once ordered a one-time whip to a sick man using 100 lidi of date palms.

In addition to restoring the health of the Prophet Job alaihissalam, Allah also wants to restore more wealth and offspring than before he was tested. This can be seen from the Quran Surah Shad verse 43.

“And We grant him (by reassembling) his family and (We add) them as much as they also as a mercy from Us and a lesson for those who have a mind.”

The Story of Prophet Job

The story of the Prophet Job teaches us all a very important value of life. The reason is, tests and trials will indeed be faced by every human being in different forms.

Meanwhile, tests in the form of property, children and health are some of the main tests that until now most faced by humans. Here is a lesson to be learned from this glorious story of the Prophet:

The glorious story of the Prophet above teaches us what we must do when we face the trials of hard trials of heredity, wealth and health.

If we examine further, in fact, the great treasure, the many descendants and health are also a test. God sees whether we will remain obedient both when narrow and when airy.

The high optimism of the Prophet Ayub alaihissalam to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala will ultimately produce results that are even better than what he got before.

Despite being tested with various tests of wealth, heredity and health, the Prophet Ayub alaihissalam never lost his faith and faith in the help of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Everything we have in this world actually belongs to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala be it treasure, soul, body (health), to offspring. Therefore, do not be arrogant when humans are given excess pleasure in the world.

In a short time, God can take away all the fun. On the contrary, God can also give back the pleasure in a short time.

Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala always provide convenience and not burdensome creatures who try to obey and fear Him.

We can learn from how Allah granted relief to the Prophet Job alaihissalam who wanted to give his vow to his wife.

The story of the Prophet Job during his 120 years of life teaches us the meaning of patience and how to face the test.

He was tested very heavily in the form of depriving all the pleasures in the world to be unable to just work for food.

Therefore, when we receive the test in the world, never give up and follow the way the Prophet Job alaihissalam faced it.

Prophet Ayyub is the son of Ish. Thus he is still the brother of the prophet Joseph (cousin) misan. But the prophet Ayyub was never arrogant. The prophet Ayyub was the richest prophet because he had a lot of cattle, a very wide rice field. He also had many children. So complete is his earthly life.

The prophet Ayyub realized that the treasure God had given him was only a trial. For that it does not hesitate to give donations to orphans and religious needs. Because of this nature, he eventually became a role model of his people.

The prophet Ayyub preferred to help the widows, the poor, rather than to give his wealth for the purposes of worship. He never complained in the slightest if the trials came in a row. Similarly, when he gets pleasure, he does not forget to thank God.

Prophet Ayyub Gets Ordeal

Because of his patience in dealing with all problems, the devil became jealous.he wanted to try that patience and ask permission from God

The spiteful devil was finally granted by God to tempt Ayyub. For God wanted to show him that his servant Ayyub never forgot even though he was in a very difficult situation. God wanted to show the devil that Job was His most patient messenger. And the devil should be ashamed of his disbelieving deeds.

At first God tested the prophet Ayyub by eroding his abundant treasure. Little by little the treasure was exhausted until the life of the prophet Ayyub became poor. One would not expect the wealth of the prophet Ayyub to run out in a short time.

The prophet Ayyub never complained in the least about his property that had been lost. he still feared as usual. With the loss of the treasure, he obtained leniency, because all this time always felt sinful if he neglected to give charity to orphans.

Not long after the incident, God tried again with the death of all the children of the prophet Ayyub. For Satan still does not believe in the word of God which explains the patience of the prophet Ayyub.

Every day his son became ill, and died. And so on until all his children were no longer alive. For ordinary people, this may be a very heavy mental blow. But for the prophet Ayyub was only a trial, and for that he never mourned the death of his children. The prophet Ayyub thought that everything on the face of the earth would be destroyed. Same with the departure of his son. They are facing back to God. How steadfast the prophet Ayyub was in the face of the never-ending ordeal.he continued to worship as usual.he never complained in the least even though all his property was lost and his children were gone.

Because the devil was not satisfied with his temptation, he asked God to give the temptation of the disease that befell the prophet Ayyub. The disease is in the form of skin diseases such as scabies and including dangerous diseases. According to a story of Ibn Kathir in his interpretation is that the sick are his limbs, only his mind and mind are still sane.

Although he had continuous trials and never had an end, the prophet Ayyub continued to worship God as usual. This made the heart of Satan even more spiteful.he had tried with all efforts to tempt Ayyub not to worship God. But his efforts were always in vain.

Because the disaster that befalls continuously, making all his friends no one dares to approach him, even they away from him. They assume that if they are still close and related to the prophet Ayyub, then all his efforts will be unlucky.he considers the prophet Ayyub to be blessed by his gods.

Although all his companions no longer came to see him and even he heard their rants did not make his heart ache.he even more fear of Allah, he was sure that his illness would be cured and he was sure that it was a trial from God.

Because his property is ludes and he himself can not make a living, his wife who plays a role. At first he worked in a bakery. But it did not last long because he was dismissed by his employer. This dismissal was due to fear of the disease suffered by the prophet Ayyub.

Because every time he got a job he was always laid off, finally to eat was no longer there. He sincerely cut his unraveling hair to sell to his neighbors.

Although the prophet Ayyub was subjected to such a severe ordeal, he was always close to God, he still worshiped as he was, even though he could not stand up again.he only asked God to be given healing.

Although his prayer had not been granted by God, the prophet Ayyub never gave up hope in worship. Everything he experienced was patiently received.

Seeing that the prophet Ayyub was still worshipping with nothing lessened, the devil grew angry. All efforts ranging from the ludesnya treasure, the death of the children of Ayyub and he himself who tried to not bear fruit. This further infuriated the devil.

The devil, after all his efforts to thwart the worship of the prophet Ayyub to God did not come to fruition, so he tried to tempt his wife (wife of Ayyub).

she whispered the words to leave the prophet Ayyub, for her husband could not earn any more. Initially his wife was still able to survive, but the whisper of the devil was getting stronger he finally left as well. We can already imagine how the suffering of the prophet Ayyub was at that time. Because he was very sick, abandoned by his wife.

But according to some accounts, his wife did not leave the prophet Ayyub. he was only reluctant to be told by her husband. So when the prophet Ayyub learned that his wife had been reluctant to him he uttered a nadzar.

" If I am healed I will strike a hundred times, "the prophet Ayyub said to his wife in anger. The wife of the prophet Ayyub who had been tempted by the devil did not pay attention at all.he immediately went away leaving the prophet Ayyub.

When he found out that his wife was no longer willing to serve and wait for him, he begged God to be healed.

The Word of God in Shood verse 41 has been explained about the sickness suffered by the prophet Ayyub :

Meaning: Remember when Job called to his Lord: "O Lord ! I've had the disease and the ordeal of shetan".

The prophet Ayyub said this because it was Satan who asked God to test him. Testing his worship obedience. Shetan is not happy to see people who are always obedient to the teachings of religion.

The devil had a thought that if the prophet Ayyub suffered, he would be disobedient to God. Allah also showed the obedience of the prophet Ayyub to Shethan.

The Prophet Ayyub Healed From His Suffering

For years the prophet Ayyub suffered. During that time he never disobeyed Allah and even increased his fear. All the treasures he had accumulated over the years simply vanished, then his son died and he himself became ill. Finally the faithful wife left. The full suffering of the prophet Ayyub.

Because the shethan was no longer able to tempt the prophet Ayyub he no longer tried. For all his efforts to conquer the prophet Ayyub were in vain.

After he made a promise to his wife, the prophet Ayyub prayed to be healed of his illness. The prayer was granted by God as stated in the Qur'an of Al Anbiyaa' verse 83 to 84 :

Meaning: Remember the story of Ayyub AS. when praying to his Lord while saying: "My Lord ! I have been beset by destitution and You are more Loving than all that is loving". (Al Anbiyaa': 83)

And We permitted the call, and We removed the sickness which was in it, and We gave back the family, and We multiplied their numbers, as a mercy from Us and to be a warning to all who worship God. (Al Anbiyaa': 84)

Thus the prophet Ayyub asked God for his healing and God granted his prayers. Allah also restores all his possessions and children, even more than ever.

In Shood's letter verses 42 to 43 have also been described about his recovery. These verses have the following meaning:

Allah SWT said to the prophet Ayyub: Spread your feet on the ground, and the springs rise there, and drink the cold baths. Then the disease healed.

We grant him a family multiplied from the former, as mercy from Us and warning to men of understanding. (Shood: 42-43)

After hearing the word, he did as Allah had said to him. He also tried to crawl. Then he set his foot on the ground and gushed water from his mouth.

Then the prophet Ayyub took a bath and drank from the water so that he could recover from his illness. Soon he sought out his wife to pay the promise he had made while sick

Prophet Ayyub Paid Nadzar

As soon as he recovered from his illness, then what he needed to do first was to pay an appointment to his wife while still sick.he looked for his wife, after meeting she was about to beat him a hundred times. But not yet done, he learned a lesson from God

This is explained in the Qur'an in Shod verse 44 :

Means: Take a piece of wood with your own hand, then beat your wife once, and you will not break your oath. Verily, We have Ayyub as a patient man. He was the best of the servants who repented much to God (Shod 44)

Then the prophet Ayyub took a hundred grass sticks and tied them together. Then he went to his wife just once. Then his wife explained the reasons why he did not want to serve and waited for her husband when he was sick. It was all the work of the devil who had seduced him.

The US Ayyub.

Ayyub's prophethood has been described in the Qur'an of An Nisa' verse 163 :

Meaning: We have given you revelation as We have given Revelation to Noah and the later prophets. And We have given revelation (also) to Abraham, Ishmael, Ishaq, Ya'kub and his grandson, Isa, Ayyub. (An Nisa’: 163)

The verse was intended to give the prophet Muhammad that before his appointment to the Prophet, Allah had appointed several prophets.
