As is known, the Prophet Muhammad is an important figure in the history of Islam. In fact, it can be said, all Muslims must have known the figure of a prophet with all this goodness and humility.
He is also called as a messenger of Allah who became the rule of all Muslims in the world. From the prophetic age to the modern age.
Prophet Muhammad SAW itself is the last prophet sent by Allah to guide the people of the world. Where Allah made Prophet Muhammad as the concluding prophet and no later prophet became the messenger of Allah.
This is what causes the Prophet Muhammad to have the title as Khataman Nabiyyin, or the last prophet. As the ultimate messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad perfected the teachings of Allah which had been delivered by the previous prophets.
As reported in the website Nu.or.id, as the last prophet, the journey of the Prophet Muhammad is not separated from the effort to call all mankind to worship Allah and show them the straight path in world affairs and the hereafter.
Just like the previous prophets, Prophet Muhammad also received extraordinary revelation from Allah SWT. But this time, Allah gave a revelation in the form of a guide for the Prophet Muhammad to read the holy book of the Quran in order to be bright in living life.
In addition to the revelation given, the story of the other Prophet Muhammad is also no less interesting to listen to. Starting from the birth of Prophet Muhammad himself to the story of the death of this glorious messenger of God.
Birth of Prophet Muhammad
The story of the first Prophet Muhammad comes from the birth of Prophet Muhammad himself. As is known, the birth of the Prophet Muhammad coincided with the events of the elephant troops who were trying to knock down the Ka’bah.
At that time, Allah sent the ababil birds to drop the stones carrying the plague to the Elephant troops who were trying to destroy the holy and historic place of Muslims, Ka’bah.
In this year of the Elephant, Prophet Muhammad was born in Makkah, and grew up as an orphan because the father of Prophet Muhammad, Abdullah had died before the Prophet Muhammad was born. Muhammad was educated and raised by a noble mother, Aminah.
After some time with his mother, then Muhammad was raised by his grandfather named Abdul Muttalib. But not long after, after two years with his beloved grandfather, Prophet Muhammad must be willing to be abandoned by his grandfather who helped raise him.
At the age of eight years after the departure of his grandfather, Prophet Muhammad was then taken care of by his uncle, Abu Talib. Despite the lack of life or difficulties in providing for life, Abu Talib was a philanthropist who diligently shared and gave alms to others.
Despite the difficult circumstances, the Prophet Muhammad was able to grow and develop well with his uncle.
Prophet Muhammad Received The First Revelation
After the birth, the story of the next Prophet Muhammad that deserves to be an example is the event of the first revelation from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad. Before being made an apostle, Allah gave the Prophet Muhammad a gift of privilege.
One of them was his face that shone brightly, able to defeat the moonlight. It is said to be a sign of the greatness of God that denotes the last prophet with glory and high standing.
In addition to the gift of a shining face, the Prophet was also given the first truly remarkable revelation of Allah SWT. Towards the descent of the first revelation, the Prophet had a dream in which the Angel Gabriel came to him.
The Prophet Muhammad pondered and thought about his dream, aloof in the Cave of Hira. Then in that place, Muhammad was shown by Allah that his dream was true.
At that time, the Angel Gabriel came to the Messenger of Allah and sent down the first revelation given by Allah SWT. That's when, Allah sent down the verse from QS Al-Alaq 1 – 4, which is as follows :
After that, Muhammad returned with fear. But this is where the apostolic story of Prophet Muhammad begins.
Where the Prophet Muhammad as the last messenger who will bring peace to all mankind.
Doing the Prophecy Secretly
The story of the next Prophet Muhammad that is no less interesting to listen to is the story of the journey of da'wah done secretly. After getting the first revelation, Prophet Muhammad then began to preach in secret or stealth.
Khadijah, Abu Bakr Al-Shiddiq and Zaid ibn Harithah, Umm Aiman, Ali ibn Abu Talib, and Bilal ibn Rabah, were among the first followers. After several years of secret preaching, then God gave the order to preach openly.
This commandment as stated in QS Al-Hijr verse 94 is as follows: “Then convey by you blatantly all that is commanded (to you) and turn away from those who are polytheists.”
The Isra Miraj
The events of Isra Miraj’ also include an important journey of the Acts of the Prophet Muhammad that is meaningful and has a profound message. The journey of Prophet Muhammad began when his wife Khadijah and his uncle Abu Talib died.
The death of two important people in the life of Prophet Muhammad occurred in the 11th year of the leadership of Prophet Muhammad.
It was a sad year for the Prophet Muhammad. He had to lose his beloved wife who always accompanied and his uncle who had been babysitting since childhood.
But after that event, Allah sent the Angel Gabriel to accompany the Prophet to travel from the Grand Mosque to the Mosque of Aqsa. This trip is also called Isra Miraj’.
Israel here is known as the journey of the Prophet Muhammad from the Mosque of Aqsa, to the 7th sky called Miraj’. In this event, the Prophet received the 5 prayer times that must be fulfilled by all Muslims.
Death of Prophet Muhammad
The next story of Prophet Muhammad that should not be forgotten is the death of this latest messenger of God. It is said that the Prophet Muhammad suffered from pain that was experienced for several months. After passing through his illness, Prophet Muhammad reportedly died.
At the time of the sad event, his friend Abu Bakr was not in Medina. Then after being told, he immediately came to Aisha's house and gave a speech, which is as follows :
“Behold, whosoever worships Muhammad, then verily Muhammad is now dead, and whosoever worships Allah, then verily Allah will always live never to die.”
Then he said the word of Allah in QS Az-Zumar verse 30:“Verily you will die and indeed they will die (after all).”
At that time, all Muslims grieve and must give up suri tauladan who do not tire of teaching goodness in living life.
This event will always be remembered by Muslims as a major and historic event from the journey of a person who has all the good qualities and glory.
