Allah gave a miraculous ability called miracles to Moses, Solomon, and Isa. Muhammad also had miracles. What was the miracle of Prophet Muhammad?
Miracles are the wonderful ability of Allah SWT for His prophets and apostles. Miracles can be used to support the prophetic truth of a prophet or the apostle. In addition, it can weaken opponents or enemies who doubt the truth of the Prophet and the Apostle.
What are the miracles of Prophet Muhammad?
Koran
Quoted from the Kemenag West Java Site, the miracle given by Allah to the Prophet Muhammad SAW is the Koran. The Qur'an is the greatest miracle given by Allah to the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
The Quran says that the miracle of the book was given to the 4 prophets and the apostles. Among them are Prophet Moses AS, Prophet David AS, Prophet Isa AS and Prophet Muhammad SAW.
The miracle given to the last prophet and apostle was the eternal miracle of all times, the Koran. While the prophets and apostles before the Prophet Muhammad SAW then they were given miracles only in his time and everything did not happen in the next era.
Splitting the Moon
This miracle story of the Prophet Muhammad occurred when the pagans challenged Muhammad to prove his prophethood by splitting the moon. Then Muhammad pointed to the moon. By the will of God, the moon is divided into two.
"That the people of Makkah asked God's messenger to show them a miracle, and he showed them the separation of the moon." (Sahih Al-Bukhari).
Water Flowing From His Hands
Another miracle of the Prophet Muhammad was that water flowed from his fingers. On the day of Al-Hudaibiya (covenant), people became very thirsty. After completing the ablution, the people rushed towards Muhammad.
People say that there is no water for ablution or drinking except a small pot of water that is not enough for everything. Then Muhammad put his hand into the pot and the water began to flow from his fingers like a spring. Finally everyone can drink and wudu.
Food Is A Little Enough For Many People
Abu Tholhah and his wife cried out to the Prophet Muhammad. The two invited Muhammad to eat.
Prophet Muhammad came to invite many friends of about 70-80 people. But Abu Tholhah and his wife had little food.
Before the meal began, Prophet Muhammad prayed for food. After that, guests are asked to eat in turn. The first to eat were 10 friends. Then, the next 10 friends, then the next 10 friends, and so on. Finally all the friends who came to eat until full. After that, the Prophet Muhammad and the family of Tholhah ate until they were full (Source: H. R. Al-Bukhari, no. 3385; Muslim, no. 2040).
A Glass of Milk Fills Many People
One day when Abu Hurairah was sitting in the street, the Prophet passed by and smiled at him. He understood the suffering of Abu Hurairah.
The Prophet asked Abu Hurayrah to follow him. Hurairah followed the Prophet's request to his house.
Then the Prophet found a glass of milk and asked his wife where it came from. His wife answered from Fulan. The Prophet then called Abu Hurairah and asked him to call ahlush shuffah or a group of friends who live in the mosque of the Prophet.
Abu Hurairah immediately called out to ahlush shuffah. They also came to the house of the Prophet. The Prophet asked Hurairah to distribute milk to them. Abu Hurairah gave the glass of milk to the first man. The man drank it until he was satisfied.
The glass was returned to Abu Hurairah. Then it is given again to the second, third, fourth, and so on until all are satisfied. The glass was received by the Prophet again. Only the Prophet and Abu Hurayrah had not drunk that milk.
Abu Hurayrah sat down and drank. Then the Prophet asked for the milk. He praised God and thanked him and read, "Bismillah," and drank the rest of the milk. (Source: H.r. Al-Bukhari, no. 6087)
Prayer for the Rain
When the Prophet was preaching Friday, someone asked to pray for rain. This is because of drought. So the Prophet prayed and it rained continuously until the following Friday.
However, someone told the Prophet that the houses had been damaged by the constant heavy rain. So the Prophet prayed that the rain be diverted around the city of Medina. The clouds moving over the city of Medina soon moved on the edge of Medina. (Source: HR. Al-Bukahari, no. 3582)
Treating Eye Pain
Before the conquest of Khaibar Fort, Ali bin Abi Talib as the flag holder of the army sore eyes. The Prophet called Ali and spat in Ali's sick eyes. Ali's eyes healed and never looked sore.
Forecast Wife
The Prophet predicted that his most devoted wife would die shortly after. This was proven by the death of Zainab who was known to be diligent in giving shortly after the death of the Prophet.
Body Emitting Lightning
Muhammad's body emitted lightning. This happened because it will be killed by Shaybah bin 'Uthman in the Hunain War.
Isra and Mi'raj
Muhammad's next miracles were Isra and Mi'raj. Israel from the Grand Mosque to the Aqsa Mosque. Then Mi'raj from Baitul Maqdis to Sidratul Muntaha, to receive prayer orders in not until one night.
