
Acts of 25 Prophets and Apostles complete with miracles
The Prophet is the name for the man who receives the revelation of Allah. While the Apostle is a Prophet who not only receives revelation, but is also obliged to convey to his people.
The number of prophets is innumerable. But in Islam, we are obliged to believe in 25 Prophets and Apostles.
As chosen men, the Prophets and Apostles had noble qualities. They keep the commandments and teachings of God. As the chosen men, the Prophet and the Apostle were sent to correct the deviant.
The presence and mission of the Prophet and the Apostle is to make his people worship only Allah, the Almighty.
The story of the Prophets and Apostles in preaching has also been described in the Qur'an and the hadith. To prove his prophethood, Allah also performed miracles on His Prophet and Messenger.
From the Prophet Adam to the Prophet Muhammad, the story of this prophet can be a valuable lesson for humans.
1. Prophet Adam.
Adam was the first prophet and the first man that God created. Adam lived in heaven with his wife Eve.
But at the enticement of the devil, Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the khuldi that had been forbidden by God. Despite their repentance, God commanded them to come down to earth.
Some of the miracles of Adam are:
becoming the first Caliph on earth.
taught by God all things about the names of things and creatures on earth.
have a long life and can give 40 years to the Prophet David.
- Has a height of 60 cubits.
blessed with twin offspring in pairs.
Prophet Idris.
Prophet Idris was the 6th descendant of Prophet Adam who was famous for his intelligence. During the preaching, the Prophet Idris gave a message to his people, among others, advice to make the funeral prayer as an honor, advising to always be grateful for the blessings of Allah, avoiding hasad and spite, among others, prohibit piling up unwholesome possessions, and obeying the commandments of Allah with sincerity, both in prayer, fasting, and other practices.
The prophet Idris had the following miracles:
having the intelligence of observing natural phenomena and interpreting the revelation of God.
the first man to read and write.
the first man to sew clothes, the Prophet Idris could wear the most beautiful clothes while people still wore animal skins.
the prophet Idris once felt the sacrosanct of death and was revived by the permission of Allah.
never seen heaven and hell.
Prophet Noah.
Noah is one of the Prophets who entered the group of Ulul Azmi, meaning to have a severe ordeal but able to deal with it with extraordinary patience. During his preaching, Noah received many challenges and rejections.
Even his wife and children hated Noah and thought he was crazy. And when his people were unjust, Allah destroyed them in a great flood.
But Noah also got a miracle that is able to make an ark/boat with a length of 300 cubits and 50 cubits. Every creature both human and animal on the boat survived the flood.
Prophet Hud.
The prophet Hud was sent by Allah to the people of Ad, the people who are experts in making towers but enjoy doing mischief and squandering wealth in vain. While preaching, the Prophet Hud actually received a lot of envy and envy from the people of Ad.
They continued to deny his preaching until finally the Prophet Hud prayed and pleaded with Allah. Allah sent down a storm with a cloud full of thunder that destroyed the unjust people of Ad. Meanwhile, Nabi Hud and his followers survived and migrated to the city of Hadramaut.
The miracles of Prophet Hud include:
- Able to rain with the permission of Allah, at that time the people 'Ad was stricken by drought until the plants died and there was no water source.
- Surviving a violent thunderstorm.
Prophet Shaleh.
Around the period of 200 years, Allah also sent the Prophet Sholeh to the Thamud who are still descendants of the people of Ad. One of the miracles of the Prophet Shaleh was the raising of a 10-month pregnant female camel from a large, split rock.
This incident also made some of the Thamud people accept the preach of the Prophet Shaleh and become his followers. But some still deny, even kill the camel that became the miracle. After killing the camels, Allah destroyed them with lightning at night.
6. Prophet Ibrahim.
Abraham is one of the prophets whose story is told in the Quran. Starting from how the Prophet Abraham found God, against the tyranny of King Namrud, to his story with his two children, Ishmael and Ishaq.
Abraham also had miracles:
- Stay alive even if burned with fire.
This happened after Abraham destroyed the idol and did not want to recognize King Namrud as God. Although he was condemned by being burned alive, Allah made the fire cold and saved Abraham.
- Watching the bird revived.
Abraham asked God to see how God could revive a dead creature. Then the Prophet saw that the dead bird could come back to life.
turning sand into food.
According to the book "Qashash al Anbiyaa", Prophet Ibrahim once took a sand holder which was then turned into food when he reached home.
having a child at the age of 99.
Abraham had long been waiting for his son. At a young age, God answered his prayers with the birth of Ishmael and Ishaq. His two sons also became Prophets and descended the descendants who also became Prophets. Therefore, Prophet Ibrahim was dubbed as Abul Anbiyaa which means Father of the Prophets.
Prophet Luth.
Prophet Luth was the nephew of Prophet Abraham. He was sent by God to preach to the people of Sodom, a corrupt people known for same-sex sexual behavior.
The Prophet Luth was opposed by them. As soon as they drove out the Prophet Luth, Allah destroyed them with earthquakes and strong winds.
Prophet Ishmael.
Prophet Ishmael was the son of Prophet Abraham and his wife Hajar. One of the miracles of the Prophet Ismail can still be seen until now, namely zamzam water.
The prophet Ishmael also received the command of Allah to be slaughtered by his own father. But when Abraham unsheathed a sharp object to slaughter it, God replaced Ishmael with a goat.
That event is what ultimately became the beginning of the Qurban on the Feast of Eid al-Adha. From the descendants of Prophet Ishmael the Prophet Muhammad was born as the last Prophet.
Prophet Ishaq.
Ishaq was the son of Abraham and Sarah. He was born 14 years after the Prophet Ishmael. He also always followed his father in preaching.
The Quran mentions that the Prophet Ishaq is a servant who has knowledge, morality, and good deeds. From his descendants were born the Prophets who came from the Children of Israel.
Prophet Yaqub.
Jacob was the son of the prophet Ishaq. In some accounts, the Prophet Yaqub is depicted as having a strong character and an extraordinary faith.
Even before the Prophet Jacob died and lay weak, he commanded the sons to keep the commandments of God.
11. Prophet Yusuf's.
The Prophet Yusuf was the son of the prophet Jacob. He once had a dream in which the moon, sun, and stars prostrated themselves on him. From then on, the prophet Jacob knew that his son would be a great man.
The prophet Joseph also had miracles:
- Have a handsome face. Even in the story, the women once sliced their own fingers when fascinated with the good looks of the Prophet Joseph.
able to interpret dreams. The Prophet Joseph interpreted the King's dream and was eventually appointed as an official in Egypt.
The prophet Job was a prophet who had many possessions, descendants, and noble deeds. Even so, the Prophet Job was never arrogant and continued to do good.
Allah tested the prophet Job with great trials. She had to lose her property, her children, and suffer from skin diseases. But in these conditions the Prophet Job remained patient and surrendered to Allah.
Some of the miracles of the Prophet Job include:
- Have incredible patience.
- Able to remove water from the soil that can cure the disease.
Prophet Shuaib.
The prophet Shuaib was sent by God to the Madyan, a people who deceive and disobey. Because he was still disbelieving and did not follow Shuaib, Allah gave the test of a hot storm, bringing black clouds, until the earthquake destroyed.
14. Prophet Moses.
Moses was the Prophet who fought the greedy King Pharaoh. He led the Children of Israel to worship God. By Allah's permission, Moses also had a miracle:
able to bring the dead back to life.
Moses asked God to bring the dead to life to reveal the murder.
- Have a stick that can turn into a snake.
able to split the Red Sea.
When Pharaoh and his army pursued Moses and his people, the Red Sea was divided to give way. But when Pharaoh and his army followed the path, the sea returned to its original state and drowned them.
the Book of the Torah contains the 10 words of God for the Children of Israel.
Prophet Aaron.
The story of Aaron is often associated with the story of Moses. The Prophet Aaron was a prophet who was gifted with excellent language skills.
The prophet Aaron also fought to eradicate the idols led by Samiri, the sorcerer of the Pharaoh's kingdom.
16. Prophet Dzulkifli.
The Prophet Dzulkifli was an Iraqi prophet. There are not many stories that tell the Prophet Dzulkifli, but he is known to keep teaching to worship God despite being tortured, chained, and imprisoned.
Prophet David.
The Prophet David was the son of Abraham the 12th. David became king after the assassination of King Thalut.
Some of the miracles of David were:
the Book of Zabur.
- Have a sweet voice.
When David read the Book of Zabur, his voice was able to make the sick healed, to make the water and wind calm, so that the hills also praise God.
18. Prophet Sulaiman.
Prophet Sulaiman was one of the Prophets who was famous as a rich king and had great power.
By Allah's permission, Prophet Solomon also had miracles such as:
- Have abundant wealth. Even in one story it is said that the palace of Prophet Solomon was very wide and studded with precious stones.
can talk to animals.
able to subdue the wind.
having an army of men, jinn, and animals.
- Draining copper from the bowels of the earth.
Prophet Ilyas.
Still among the children of Israel, the Prophet Ilyas faced a people who loved to worship an idol called Ba'al. Though they had received the preachings of the prophet Ilyas, they remained in disbelief until Allah had sent down a long drought.
20. Prophet Ilyasa.
Prophet Ilyasa was the adopted son of Prophet Ilyas. Prophet Ilyasa was given the task of continuing the preaching of his father to the Children of Israel. One of the miracles of the Prophet Ilyasa was to revive the dead by the permission of Allah.
Prophet Jonah.
The prophet Jonah was a prophet sent to resuscitate the idolatrous Assyrians in the city of Nineveh. While boarding the ship with his followers, a black cloud and a huge storm occurred. The passengers sacrificed the prophet Jonah and sank him into the sea.
Despite the pope's deviation, God saved Jonah. This is one of the miracles of Jonah.
22. Prophet Dzakaria.
The prophet Dzakaria was a descendant of David and Prophet Sulaiman. There are not many stories about the Prophet Dzakaria, but according to some accounts, the Prophet Dzakaria also had a low attitude and always thanked Allah. Like Prophet Ibrahim, Prophet Dzakaria also got offspring when he was no longer young.
Prophet Yahya.
Prophet Yahya was the son of Prophet Dzakaria, he is referred to as one of the truly honorable and holy people. Allah blessed the Prophet Yahya with the ability to know the Shari'a.
Prophet Yahya was a very diligent man and loved to read. Since childhood, the Prophet Yahya has been able to decide matters and find a way out for all problems.
Prophet Isa.
Jesus was a fatherless prophet and was born to a holy woman named Maryam. Some of the miracles of Jesus include:
can talk while a baby.
Born without a father, Maryam was accused of adultery. But by Allah's permission, the infant Prophet Jesus was able to protect his mother by speaking that he was a servant of God who would become a Prophet and be bestowed with the Gospel.
- Turning birds from clay.
- Turning on the dead.
curing the blind and the disease of the sick.
- Lowering dishes from the sky.
- Blessed the Gospel.
Prophet Muhammad.
Prophet Muhammad is the last Prophet and the closing. There was no other prophet after Muhammad died. At the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, many major events occurred such as the collapse of the near-Kabah idol and the extinguishing of the Fire worshipped by the Magi.
Prophet Muhammad SAW has a miracle among others:
the greatest miracle is the Koran as the holy book of Muslims.
- Able to split the moon.
- Draining water from his fingers.
- Able to bring down rain.
