Events That Accompanied the Birth of Prophet Moses AS
Imam al-Sudiy narrates from Abu Shalih and Abu Malik from Ibn Abbas and from Murrah from Ibn Mas’ud, it is told from among the friends that FIR’aun dreamed of seeing a fire coming from the direction of Jerusalem that burned the territory of Egypt but did not harm the Children of Israel. When she woke up, FIR’aun gathered the sorcerers and astrologers and told her about her dream. Then they all told him that a son from among the Children of Israel would be born who would destroy Egypt.
Since then, FIR’aun ordered all the soldiers to kill all the boys from among the newborn Children of Israel without exception. Until one day, there was born a son from among the Children of Israel named Moses from a mother named Ayarkha (the others said: Ayadzakhat).
Moses Became the Raised Son of Firo’aun
After giving birth to Moses, his mother was very scared and agitated, worried that later the armies of Fir’aun knew of the birth of his son. So Allah inspired Moses' mother to wash him in the river, and God promised to return Moses to his mother again. And it turned out that the mouth of the river reached the palace of Fir’aun and Moses was found by the wife of Fir’aun named Asiyah bint Muzahim bin Ubaid bin al-Rayyan bin al-Walid.
Then Siti Asiyah took care of her, but when Moses wanted to drink ASI, a woman was found to be a mother who breastfed Moses. Strangely enough, the baby Moses did not want to be breastfed by anyone. Finally, Moses' biological mother (Ayarkha) volunteered to breastfeed Moses and Moses wanted to breastfeed his own biological mother. Allah promised Moses to return Moses to his mother.
The Escape of Moses to Madyan and the Meeting with the Prophet Shuaib AS
Moses was in the palace of Fir’aun as an adopted child until several years into adolescence. One day, Moses went for a walk in the city and found two quarreling men, one of whom was the army of Fir’aun and the other from among the Children of Israel. Then Moses helped the Israelites and beat the Fir’aun army to death.
Then, Moses feared that Fir’aun was angry with him because one of his troops died because he was killed by him, finally Moses fled out of Egypt towards the city of Madyan.
On the way, Moses finds a group of people scrambling around the well to give him a drink of the herdsmen. But on the other hand, there are two women who do not join the fight to give the animal drink including. Then Moses asked the two: “Why do you not fight with them?”, one of them replied: “How did we both fight with them, being they're all men and we're just girls and for sure we both lost to them.” Then Moses helped them to drink the two women's cattle.
Then Moses drove them home to their house, and it turned out that they were the daughters of the Prophet of Allah, the Prophet Shu’aib as. Later, the Prophet Shu’aib asked about Moses and Moses telling him all the things that happened during his time in Egypt until he fled to Madyan.
One of the daughters of the Prophet Shu’aib said to his father: “Dad, father is not old, and we are both only a woman, so we are less able to herd father's livestock, so we are less able to herd father's livestock, how about Moses herding daddy's cattle?”. Then the Prophet Shu’aib said to Moses: “How Moses, do you want?”, Moses also agreed to the request of the Prophet Shu’aib.
Then the Prophet Shu’aib said to Moses: “If you herd livestock for 8 years, you may choose one of my daughters to be your wife, but if it is 10 years, it is up to you Moses, can one or both of you make your wife.”
Without notice, over the course of time, Moses had lived in Madyan for 10 years. Suddenly, Moses remembered the Israelites who were oppressed by the cruelty of Fir’aun and his army. Then Moses expressed his desire to return in order to free his people from the oppression of Fir’aun and the Prophet’aib as also allowed Moses to return to Egypt.
Moses Received Revelation on the Mount of Thursina
After getting permission from his father-in-law, Moses accompanied by his wife –Shafura-, departed for Egypt. When it was night on a hill, Moses saw the light on the hill, and Moses said to his wife: “Please wait here, I will approach the light.” Then Moses walked near the origin of the light, upon his arrival near the light, a voice was heard addressed to Moses.
“O Moses, you are now in the sanctified valley, and I have chosen you to be my messenger apostle and listen to my revelation “Waiting for me God, there is no god but me, so worship me and establish prayer to remember me.” Thus the sound of the revelation received by Moses on the hill known as the Hill of Thursina.
Then, after receiving the revelation, Prophet Moses as requested that Aaron –brother cousin– be appointed as an apostle also to accompany Prophet Moses as preach to Fir’aun because it is more eloquent and more fluent in speaking, as well as in speaking, because Moses as a child had eaten coals so that his tongue burned and made Moses as not so fluent in speaking like his brother Prophet Aaron as.
Prophets Moses as to Pharaoh
After the revelation, Moses continued his journey to Egypt. Once in Egypt, Moses met his mother and brother Aaron. Then Moses said to Aaron that Allah has sent revelation to me and made me and you –Harun– as His prophet to preach to Fir’aun in order to worship Allah swt.
So, Prophet Moses as and Prophet Aaron as set out to meet Fir’aun to invite him to worship Allah swt. After meeting with Fir’aun, the Prophet Moses said to Fir’aun that he was the prophet and messenger of Allah swt to invite Fir’aun to worship Allah swt. However, FIR’aun refused by challenging the Prophet Moses as to show miracles as proof of his prophethood and apostolate.
So Fir’aun told the sorcerers to throw their ropes and immediately the ropes turned into snakes that made Moses look daunted to see the incident. Then Allah revealed to the Prophet Moses as to throw his staff and immediately the staff turned into a large snake and ate the snakes of the sorcerer Fir’aun.
Seeing the incident, Fir’aun was angry and said the Prophet Moses as a witch. Then Fir’aun asked for another miracle, finally Moses put his hand in his pocket and took it back out. Immediately, the hand of the Prophet Moses as issued a very blinding view of Fir’aun and his army to the extent that Fir’aun asked the Prophet Moses as to reinsert his hand so as not to dazzle again. Fir’aun still did not believe that Moses and Aaron were prophets and apostles of God.
Moses the US Splitting the Sea
After the Prophet Musa as and the Prophet Aaron as preached to Fir’aun and Fir’aun reject the invitation of the two prophets, then Fir’aun angry and ordered his soldiers to kill the Prophet Moses as and his followers. So Moses and his followers fled Egypt and were pursued by Fir’aun and his army. So that the refugees reached the shores of the Red Sea, Moses was confused by such a situation that behind them Fir’aun chased them and in front of the sea stretched wide blocking their escape.
Then Allah revealed to Moses as to smite his rod into the sea, and at once the sea split and Moses sent his followers to cross the sea before Fir’aun and his army could catch up with them.
When Moses arrived across the sea and Fir’aun and the army were still at sea, Allah commanded Moses to strike his staff back into the sea so that the sea was reunited and Fir’aun and his troops drowned in the Red Sea.
After a few days, the people found Fir’aun's body still intact and did not rot at all. This is as Allah promised as a warning and a lesson for those who follow him not to oppose Allah's treatise.
The full description of this is found in the book of Qashash al-Anbiya by Imam Ibn Kathir. There is also evidence on
Events That Became the Cause of Meeting of Prophet Moses AS and Prophet Khidir AS
Imam al-Bukhari said: Imam al-Humaidi has narrated from Imam Sufyan, Imam Sufyan has narrated from Imam Amr ibn Dinar, he said: Imam Sa’id bin Jabir told me that he asked Ibn Abbas: “Truly Nauf al-Bukali considered that Moses who accompanied Khidir was not Moses from among the Children of Israel?” Then Ibn Abbas replied: “The enemy of Allah swt has lied.”
Then Ibn Abbas continued his answer that Ubay ibn Ka’ab had told him that, he heard the Prophet say: “Truly, Moses was speaking in the midst of the Children of Israel, and then some asked: : “Who among the most intelligent humans?”, So Prophet Moses as replied: “I”. So Allah was upset with the Prophet Moses because he did not rely on his knowledge to Allah, then Allah revealed to the Prophet Moses as: “Verily I have a servant who is smarter than you who is at the confluence of two seas.”
Thus, Moses was told to meet the Prophet Khidir as and to teach him by Allah.
Events That Tested the Patience of Prophet Moses US
After getting a revelation from Allah swt, the Prophet Moses as then walked towards the meeting of the two seas as the revelation he received with his friend named Yusya’ bin Nun. Moses ordered Yusya’ to bring the fish in a container and if the fish would jump into the water, then he was told to tell Moses as because that is where the servant of Allah swt was.
After walking for a long time, the two felt bad and finally fell asleep. After waking up, Yusya’ bin Nun saw the fish jump into the water but forgot to tell the Prophet Moses as. After a day and night, Yusya’ ibn Nun told the Prophet Moses that the fish had jumped into the water where they had fallen asleep. Finally, Moses and his followers returned to the place where the fish jumped earlier and met Prophet Moses as with Prophet Khidir as.
Then, after they met, Moses sent to study science to the Prophet Khidir. There is a dialogue between the two.
Moses said: Can I teach you?
Nabi Khidir as: Are you able to meet its requirements?
Moses: What are the requirements ?
Nabi Khidir as: But I am sure you will never be able to be patient and able to fulfill it
Moses said: But I will seek to fulfill that promise.
Prophet Khidir: Are you really patient and willing?
Moses as: Yes.
Prophet Khidir as: You must not ask about anything I do.
Moses: Well, I agree.
So the three of them walked, so that by the beach and the three of them took a boat. But suddenly Nabi Khidir as broke into a boat. Prophet Musa as spontaneously asked Prophet Khidir as: “Why did You break into a boat that could result in sinking the boat and its passengers?”, Then Prophet Khidir as replied: “Have you been against these conditions, O Prophet Moses? Didn't I already say that you will never be patient with me.” Finally, Moses apologized to the Prophet Khidir as.
Then they walked back, until somewhere the three of them met a small child and Nabi Khidir as immediately killed him. Spontaneously Prophet Moses asked: “Why did You kill this little boy, while this child is still holy without sin, truly You have disobeyed.” Then Prophet Khidir as said: “Didn't I have said that you can never be patient with me O Prophet Moses.” Then Moses apologized a second time. But this time, the Prophet Khidir as warned the Prophet Moses as: “If you ask once again against whatever I do, then never again do you accompany me again, because between me and you there is a barrier.”
Then they walked back until they reached a village. So they expressed the desire to visit and ask for food for the villagers, but they all refused the arrival of the three of them. Then the three of them saw a wall that would collapse from a house, then Nabi Khidir as re-establish the wall that would collapse earlier. Then Moses asked: Why did You build the wall that would collapse, while the villagers refused our arrival, will you ask the people for a reward?”.
Then Prophet Khidir as said: “It turns out you will never be patient with me.” That is the difference between me and you, Moses. Now we'd better split up but before that, I'll explain to you about whatever I've done that makes you impatient to ask me.
First: Why did I sink the boat? For there will come a cruel ruler who will take the boat by force. Well if the boat I hole, then the ruler will not take the boat and the owners will not lose their boat enough to repair the boat by patching the hole only.
Second: Why did I kill the little boy when he was still holy and sinless? Because the child's parents are devout believers, and I fear that the child will grow up and plunge his parents into disbelief and disbelief, so I killed him before he knocked out the parents, and I pray that God will replace him with a better and more godly child at the same time a loving one.
Third: why did I build a wall that wanted to collapse earlier? Because the house belongs to two orphans and under the wall there is a treasure of his parents while the parents of the child are classified as a righteous person, and if they both later have grown up, they will both become adults, they can take the treasure as a mercy from Allah. AND I (NABI KHIDIR AS) DID NOTHING OF MY OWN ACCORD. The point is this as a form of affirmation that the Prophet Khidir as did all the things that according to Prophet Moses as unreasonable was not merely because it followed his own desires and desires but all that based on the revelation of Allah which was received by the Prophet Khidir as.
Such is the explanation of what I did that made you unable to be patient. Now comes the day when you and I part, O Prophet of Allah, Moses.
The Wisdom of the Acts of Moses
From the story of Moses above, we can take ibrah among them:
We must believe in Allah swt with complete and total confidence because the promise of Allah swt must happen.Pride is the main cause of the destruction of the people and ignorance is the main cause of the glory of the people.Arbitrary in any case will be causing destruction and destruction of people and people. We must not consider ourselves the most intelligent because that causes us not to learn anymore. Because in the sky there is still the sky.In the face of anything including seeking knowledge, science, let us be patient because patience is able to help us in doing anything. We must realize that each person has their own advantages that we must respect as a form of justice God swt.
